We had a slow, laid back day today. Adia was up at 6:30 after waking at 9:30, 10, 10:30 and 2:30. I got so frustrated after she woke at 10:30 and couldn't get her to go to sleep, that I laid her in her crib, turned on some lullabies and left the room. I could hear her fussing for maybe a minute and then nothing. I went and checked on her after 10 minutes. She was fast asleep. When I went back to bed, I heard Adia cry. I went back in to check and she had rolled onto her tummy. I know she's very comfortable like that, but it wouldn't last. I flipped her over and went back to bed. She ate and went right back to sleep at 2:30.

I was exhausted when we got up at 6:30. I put Adia in the jumperoo, but she didn't last long. She was tired still too. She drank a bottle and snuggled against me. We ended up napping for a hour. She then wanted to play, so on the floor she went. Once I started to get hungry, I thought we'd try breakfast. She wasn't too interested in eating and once she noticed the carrots, she wouldn't eat anymore.

So we got dressed instead of eating anymore. Since it was kind of cold out today, I pulled out her long sleeved pink octopus outfit. She had the same one for when she was really little and we liked it so much, we bought it in a size larger. It's supposedly 0-3 months, but I disagree. For the last 3 months, I've been pulling it out of the drawer and comparing it to her. Every time it's, nope, still too big. I pulled it out today and I was thinking it may be too small. Nope, still a little large. The only part of it that's on the small side are the arms. They're only 3/4 length on her, which is cute and less like to get soaking wet from her eating them. The legs are still on the long side and it's way fatter than she'll be for a very long time.

After changing her, I brought her out to the living room. She didn't want to play on the floor, but she did want to jump. I stuck her in the jumperoo and within minutes, she was grunting. At least she was polite and didn't want to do her business while sitting in my lap. It was a messy one too. When I first opened her diaper I thought it was just a little one, but quickly noticed it went all the way up the back. Nasty! At least it was easy to get off and I didn't get it anywhere it shouldn't be. She was feeling lots better after the clean up so then she wanted to play on the floor.

Around 11 we woke up Scott. Adia was very happy to see him. She had a huge grin on her face. He played with her for a little while and then she started to get crabby. Everyday around noon, she takes a little nap on Scott. This was definitely what she had planned for today too. He gave her a bottle and she fell asleep on him for 30-45 minutes. She woke up cranky, but slowly mellowed.

Scott and I then took our showers and headed to the store. We carried Adia instead of using the bijorn or putting her in the cart. She was wiggling all over the place though which made it incredibly hard to hold onto her. We traded once, but it only made my shopping slower, so Scott took her back. We were on a time crunch to get our shopping done before Scott had to get to work. We ended up getting out of there in 30 minutes and we're running early. We had enough time to run home, unload the groceries and then take Scott to work. It was nice because I hate trying to run up and down the stair while carrying Adia and the groceries. She normally ends up very grumpy and I can't help her because then I have to put all the perishables away. We dropped off Scott and Adia screamed from then (3:30) until 5 with a very short break in the middle. I gave her some Tylenol because nothing was making her feel better. 30 minutes after giving her Tylenol, she drank 2 ounces and fell asleep for a hour. Apparently her gums really were bothering her.

the blissful rest, granted by Tylenol

It was after 6 when she woke up. I set her in her high chair and she watched me make dinner. She was really mellow and didn't mind waiting. She may not have been screaming, but she certainly didn't act like she wanted anything to eat. She wouldn't open her mouth, but she wasn't turning her head away. Eventually she did open her mouth and I got some sweet potatoes and oatmeal into her. After several bites of that, I gave her a bite of carrots. She gagged at first, but then licked her lips. She finished off the carrots and I had to get her more. She also finished those carrots. She was actually eating them straight, no oatmeal to thicken them. She didn't want any more to eat, but she did want the sippy cup. She became obsessed with it. She would drink and drink and drink. It was crazy. She dribbled very little of it, but you could hear her swallow so I knew she was getting some down. She likes her water, I guess.

Bath time was interesting though. While she was sitting in the bebe pod, playing with mirror baby, I thought I would transfer the wash to the dryer. In the process I discovered that I had washed a diaper. This would have been a problem if it has been a cloth diaper, but it wasn't. Those little absorbent gel balls were everywhere. I have no idea how I'm going to clean my washer or the laundry. Hopefully they'll just wash away, but they're awfully sticky. Adia at least had a good bath. She sat through the whole thing since it wasn't a hair washing day. She played with her cups for a while, but since it was already 7:30, she was getting tired and wanted out. She never fussed though, just grabbed the edge and tried to climb out. It's going to be interesting when she can. I got her laughing while I dried and lotioned her. Then it was pjs, a bottle and some snuggles. She was asleep and in her crib by 8. I turned on the lullaby cd, so if she wakes up (and doesn't need to burp), maybe she'll just go back to sleep.
