We're home and alive. The flight back was horrible. Adia screamed most of the way. It took me a little bit to notice that she'd filled her diaper. The second I opened it, I knew why she had been screaming. It was one of those burning, yellow, liquid poos. So she had plenty of reason to scream. Her butt was raw, but luckily most of it had soaked into the diaper. I read her Brown Bear, Brown Bear when we got back to our seat and she was out cold for the rest of the flight.

Scott had planned to meet us at security, but he thought we were flying in from LA, not Burbank. He went to the wrong security checkpoint and I had to call him to figure out where he was. Adia kept staring at him as he got closer and once she realized who it was, she gave him a huge hug. She didn't let go of him until after we had picked up our bags at baggage claim.

Adia was not happy to be confined in the carseat, but we stopped part way home for dinner. She scarfed down a cheeseburger and grapes and then wanted some daddy cuddles before we continued the drive. She was really sleepy when we got home. We all slept really well. In fact, she's been sleeping a little too well.

Wednesday Adia woke up with a very runny nose. She was also very clingy and tired. She slept most of the day on me. We were never able to go to the store. She fell asleep at 8 for the night too. She woke me, crying at midnight. I thought she'd come in, like she normally does, but after a minute or two, I went after her. I picked her up and she pressed her face against my chest. She started coughing, then gagged and puked all over me. I happen to be one of those moms who don't catch the puke with their hands, but with their bodies instead. Every time Adia has puked on me, I've just held her to my chest and caught most of it with my body and clothes. This time, I was wearing a tank top with a built in bra. Those built in bras make very excellent puke buckets. When I thought she was finished, I took her into the bathroom to get us both cleaned up. Her whole face was covered in puke. It was in her hair, her eye lashes and up her nose. She looked miserable. I had just cleaned most of her off when she puked some more. I rinsed out our clothes and in the process, plugged the sink and broke the drain cover. Luckily it was broken in an up position. I ended up taking a quick shower at midnight with a screaming, unhappy, sleepy baby. I even had to wash her hair, which made her scream louder. I grabbed a bunch of towels and headed back to bed. I didn't sleep well the rest of the night because I woke to every little cough, thinking she was about to spew more. Luckily, she didn't.

She did sleep until after 8, which Adia never does anymore. She's usually an early riser. She was definitely still feverish and not feeling well. She spent the day in my lap again, snuggled up tight. She didn't want to eat very much and was only awake for a few short hours at a time. She was happy to Scott when he got up though. She was out again pretty early and slept until 8:30, only waking me a few times in the night. I was so tired, I didn't even know I had put her in bed with me sometime in the night. I only discovered her when I got cold and tried to pull the blankets up. Imagine my surprise to find her laying on them.

I thought she might be feeling a little better today, but I was wrong. She ate 1/2 an eggo for breakfast, but didn't really want anything else. She didn't want to take a bath or shower and wouldn't let me set her down at all. She fell asleep around 10:30 and slept most of the day away. She woke up just before Scott and he took her outside to play for a little bit. When they came back in, we went to Walmart for a few things and it was dinnertime by the time we came back. She was really cranky by then, despite Tylenol and a couple popsicles. I had even called the doctor's office in the afternoon because Adia's been so lethargic. They told me that if she still has a fever tomorrow to take her to the weekend clinic, otherwise, just let her rest, give her fluid and keep her comfortable with Tylenol. Gee, like I wasn't already doing that. I just know she's totally not acting like herself. I have a very active child who doesn't want to play or even get off my lap.

She seemed eager for dinner so I had my hopes up. She munched a little on her toast before she started crying. I knew she wasn't feeling well so I picked her up and set her in my lap. I figured I'd eat my dinner and she could cuddle if that's what she wanted. With no warning, however, she puked everything she had eaten that day on the table, my lap, her hands and the floor. Somehow she missed my plate, but we were pretty soaked. Scott just looked at us in shock before handing me some paper towels. I cleaned up most of the mess before Adia and I climbed in the bath tub. I'm glad to know that the smell of puke no longer bothers me.

Shortly after getting out of the tub, DiDi arrived. Adia was excited to see her and snuggled with her for awhile. There was no more gagging and Adia ate another popsicle (blue raspberry this time) and drank a lot of water. She was fast asleep by 9:30. No fighting. She just climbed in my lap and fell asleep. I hope there's no more puking episodes tonight or tomorrow and that her fever is gone by morning. I really don't want to have to take her to the doctor's.

Speaking of doctors. We're still waiting for Adia's allergy test results. It's been 10 days and still no phone call. If they are back, I'm guessing they're negative. If they are, we'll be headed back to her doctor so we can see a pediatric GI.

Sorry there's no new pictures, but I haven't taken any since we left California. All Adia's been doing is sleeping so there's not much to see anyway, unless her puking in technicolor interests you.

Disneyland!

It was a long day, 12 hours actually and now Adia's crashed. We learned Adia's scared of the dark when we went on the new Nemo ride. When it started to get dark, she clung to me and eventually wanted to be turned around so she could hide her face in my chest.

After that we headed to toon town. Adia and Ella had a blast on the slide.

Then it was to Pirates of the Caribbean. Adia loved the drops in the beginning, but wasn't so sure about the dark. She seemed drowsy afterwards and fell asleep within a couple minutes of being in the stroller. I took her back out of the stroller and we went on Haunted Mansion. Adia slept through the whole thing and slept through the transfer back to the stroller. She slept for almost another hour.

I bought Adia some pink Mickey ears. They're huge on her, but they were adorable. She'd rather eat them than wear them anyway.

We then headed to California Adventure. The kids all got to play in the Bug's Life water areas. Adia wasn't so sure at the first stop, but was a little more eager at the second place. She ran around with Ella, having a blast, until she got squirted right in the face. She didn't cry, but her face morphed into a pout and she came sadly walking back to me. She wanted nothing more to do with the water after that, even though she desperately wanted to play with Ella.

We did got on one more ride before getting dinner. She really seemed to enjoy it, but it made me dizzy. It was then dinner and home (back to Lara's). Adia and Ella fell asleep in the car and Adia easily went back to sleep in bed. I bet she sleeps in tomorrow.

And speaking of tomorrow. Our flight home is tomorrow. I'm really not looking forward to the flight and I'm going to miss Lara and Ella terribly. Adia's not going to be happy without them either. I guess just one more reason to visit again soon.

We just got back from the beach. Adia's taking a long nap. She fell asleep in the car. Actually, all the girls are napping. The beach takes a lot out of you. My face and head are sunburned, but Adia isn't at all. Once she kept her hat on, things were good.

Yesterday we had a picnic and Adia went on her first carousel ride. I wasn't so sure she'd like it, but she danced to the music. She wouldn't ride the horse alone even though that's how we started out. She ended up on my hip with both of us on the horse. She cuddled up like a monkey.

She did lots of running around with the girls and several face plants. She managed to skin both knees. One time she landed face first in the dirt and when I picked her up, she had mud on her forehead! Lara took a picture and I hope to get a copy of it soon.

After the park, we went back to Lara's for a BBQ. Adia climbed in the sandbox after she saw Jake do it. After dinner the girls all used the slide and then it was three in the tub.

Today's beach adventure was fun too. Adia enjoyed the snack bar Lara set up. Actually, all the kids did. Then we headed down to the water. Adia wasn't too happy about the water part. She got her feet wet a couple times and then wanted me to hold her. When I asked her if she wanted to get down, she'd shake her head and say, "no!" Then we went back to the grassy area and let the kids run around. Adia ended up chasing pigeons with a couple other kids. Then it was munchies and time to go.

We're in LA and Adia's having a blast with her Auntie Lara and little Ella. Adia loves being around kids her own age and I can't wait to see what she does when everyone else gets here. Yesterday we went to the zoo with Aunt Annie and little Scarlett. Adia and Scarlett were in desperate need of naps, but someone managed to fight it to the very end. Adia lost her battle, Scarlett didn't.

We've gone on lots of walks. We must be a sight to see, 4 baby girls, 4 strollers and 4 mommies. Ella, Scarlett and Adia look like triplets and then there's adorable little Belle. She's certainly the Belle of the ball.

I only have one pic to share right now since I don't have my own laptop and I didn't bring my camera cord either. I've already taken a bunch of adorable pictures and will definitely share them when we get back. So be looking for them next Wednesday, I'm guessing.

While Adia may love being here, she was a pill to get here. She screamed off and on the whole flight. Every time I told her "no" she'd start screaming like I was beating her. It was horrible. Flying with a 15 month old is not recommended unless you have plenty of backup. I think our trip to Colorado will be easier because I'll have both DiDi and Scott going and DiDi coming back.

A few more pics from Lara:

We're leaving on a jet plane...

Adia's first plane ride almost a year ago

Adia and I leave for California today. We'll be back in a week. I hope she enjoys playing with lots of kiddos her age because that's one of the reasons we're going.

Lara, are you ready for us??

I'd like to say that we've been way too busy and that's why there hasn't been a post, but that's a lie. It's the 5am wake up calls from Adia that have been killing me. I've been totally exhausted these last few days and she hasn't been waking up much later. When you think 6am is sleeping in, you know you have a problem. I haven't been taking many pictures either, but I do have a couple.

Saturday began bright and early, but after breakfast, Adia, Scott and I read the paper. No joke, the three of us lined up on the couch, reading the paper. It was adorable. I wish we would have had an extra person here to take a pic of us, but Scott did manage to take some of Adia and me. Adia picked out her dream house and car (a red jeep). I'm glad there weren't any animals in the paper or we would have been in big trouble. She really wants a kitten. Adia woke up early from her nap on Saturday too so I never got to shower. It was bad, but at least we didn't have to go anywhere. Gamma and Unky Eck dropped by in the evening though. Adia was busy sharing a popsicle with me on the couch. She can say popsicle now and definitely knows what one is. She thinks we can only eat them on the couch though. After dinner she runs to the couch and says, "popsicle" very matter of factly. She'll throw a huge fit if we don't have one.

Sunday was another lazy day. Adia slept in until 6 and we hit Target nice and early. Adia tried to shoplift Thomas the Tank Engine, but was caught before we left. Thomas ended up staying. She fell asleep in the car, but woke up to our screaming neighbors and I had to fight with her forever to get her down for a nap. She ate a huge lunch when she woke up and was a goof until Scott woke up. We ran a couple errands and had dinner when we came home. Adia wasn't too interested in dinner, but she did want to drink out of a big girl cup. She was only wearing her diaper and totally drenched herself. She wasn't expecting the water to come out so fast and she pretty much dumped it in her lap. The water was fine, it was when she dumped her plate and sent peaches flying that I wasn't happy.

Today was her pediatric allergy appointment. No need for an alarm clock when you have Adia. We were up bright and early, ate breakfast, took a bath and were all ready to go when Scott came home at 7:30. I filled out all the paperwork while Scott entertained Adia in the waiting room. We answered a bunch of questions, explained her reactions and how she's been wheat free. The doctor decided to do the skin test to check for wheat, rye, barley, oats and cat. Adia giggled when the nurse wrote on her back and only cried for a minute when she pricked her. The positive control swelled up instantly, but all the other ones were definitely negative.

We talked with the doctor for a bit while Adia flirted with the other doctor. They easily fell in love with her. She knows how to work it. The doctor wanted to do a blood test and see what that showed since she's certainly been having some sort of reaction to wheat. I asked her about celiac and she said the blood test came back negative before, but it was certainly something we should look into if the allergy blood test came back negative too. We'd have to get referred by her pediatrician. If the blood work does come back positive, Adia will have an epipen to take with her everywhere. Of course we're also supposed to continue avoiding wheat, which won't be a problem.

After watching the epipen instruction video, we left to get Adia's blood draw. The second I sat in the chair with Adia on my lap, she knew what was going to happen. She screamed and fought as hard as she could, but luckily it only took one try. The crying was over as fast as it started and she even got a sticker out of it. Now we just get to wait.
