We're back in Eugene as of yesterday. After going to the park and eating lunch, Adia and I drove home. Adia waved frantically to DiDi and blew tons of kisses to her, but the second we were around the block, she started crying for DiDi. She was not happy to leave her. I was able to keep her happy with Necco wafers until she eventually fell asleep.

When we got home, she was super happy to see Scott, who was still asleep. We waited for him to wake up before asking him to go grocery shopping with us. We went to Costco. As we were waiting in line to check out, Adia threw a huge fit. She screamed at the top of her lungs and didn't want anyone to touch her. She hasn't had a spaz out like that in ages. Scott took her outside where I met up with them. They were sitting, watching lots of "trucks" (according to Adia) and she was saying "Hi!" to all the birds.

The second we got in the car, Adia started asking for milk. I didn't have any with me, but we were headed to the store anyway. I gave Scott some cash and he took Adia to buy her a milk box. She loves the little boxes of milk with a straw. She ended up losing the straw in the box though and made a big mess with the milk. When we got home, she didn't want to go upstairs, she wanted to play in the grass. She played until her feet were muddy and she started yelling "Yucky!"

She wasn't too interested in dinner, but she stayed in the bath for quite awhile. We fell asleep watching Grease together. She was snuggled up against me, clapping to the music. I counted her fingers, which she loved. When I got to five, she'd yell "Five!" and start laughing and squealing. She helped count my fingers and then her toes. Then she laid back against me and fell right to sleep.

She was up bright and early at 7. She spent most of the night kicking me because she was sleeping across the bed. It's her new favorite way to sleep. She gave Scott tons of kisses when she saw him and was eager to eat breakfast. I was debating about whether to walk or not this morning, but Adia made my decision when she brought me tights and a pair of shoes. I think she was hinting. She loved the walk, especially the walk back because there are blackberry bushes all along the road. She saw them and started yelling, "Some! Want some!" I think she ate her weight in blackberries and was upset when I had to tell her no more.

She took a bath when we got back, but only because she knew I wanted to get in the shower. She took forever to get out of the tub, but didn't complain when I showered. We played and danced to music, she even helped me put her clothes in the dryer. She acted like she wanted lunch, but wouldn't eat much. She did lick all the cream cheese off her toast and drank her peach juice, but didn't want the bread or peaches.

Since there's a Duck football game today, Adia had to sport her new duck t-shirt. I think green's a good color on her. When I pointed to the duck on her shirt, she lifted her shirt and started kissing it. She's also been saying "Duck" all day. The only bad thing about football games though is Scott has to work long hours. Adia got a few minutes with him before he left at 2. She gave him tons of kisses and was sad to see him leave. She soon fell asleep though, which is nice for me. She was getting a bit cranky.

Before we came back from Florence, Adia got to spend some time with her Gamma, Gampa and Auntie Colie. We had dinner out there, even if Adia didn't realize she was supposed to eat anything. Colie took her outside and they played in the grass, one of Adia's favorite pastimes. Gamma and Gampa just got home from a trip so the grass hadn't been cut in awhile. When Adia was sitting in it, the grass came up to her shoulders. She loved it!

Adia is really fascinated with cooking, especially if I'm doing the cooking. She wants to know what everything is and what exactly I'm doing. Sometimes Scott will give her a running commentary, which is rather funny, or she'll climb on a chair to get a better look. She even likes a particular cooking show on PBS. It's called Made in Spain. I'm not entirely sure why she likes that one show so much, but she gets excited when the guy appears and she listens to everything he says. I think we need to get Adia a little apron and try out some gluten free cookie recipes. I just found a delicious sounding gluten free pancake recipe that uses plain yogurt and brown rice flour. Just the recipe sounds good so we'll have to try it when we get home. We're in Florence right now.

I bought her an art easel from Toys R Us a couple days ago. I've really been wanting the Little Tikes one since I know it's sturdy and make it easier for her to draw. They didn't have the one I wanted, but another one, by Crayola, that looked like something Adia might like. I bought it and while Adia was napping, I attempted to put it together. The easel top was so flimsy that I couldn't even keep it together long enough to put the base on. After my 3rd attempt, I put it back in the box to return. I returned it on Monday and we bought Adia a picnic table instead. It's just like the one at DiDi's house and she loves it. I had to rearrange a few things in the living room to find a place for it, but Adia approves. She ate breakfast there while watching Super Why on Tuesday. She even ate a snack of apples and milk on Monday night while sitting there watching Michelle Obama's speech. I think it's more of a hit than the easel.

We're in Florence now. It's DiDi's first week back at school and I wanted to help her in her classroom. Adia and I were there for the afternoon yesterday. Since there's not much in her room, Adia was pretty good. There wasn't much for her to mess with, but she did rip a Goosebump book. I had to bring Adia back to DiDi's house to pee though since she wouldn't go while I held her over the toilet at school. I think she was worried I was going to drop her in.

Adia was a live wire last night even though she never took a nap. When she finally said it was Nigh Nigh, she didn't want me, she wanted DiDi. I tried laying next to her in bed and she kept crying, "I wan DiDi!" DiDi came in and laid next to her. Within seconds Adia was out cold, all snuggled up against DiDi.

Adia woke up to DiDi turning on the shower. She yelled, "Daddy?" and when I told her it wasn't daddy she said, "DiDi?" Then it was "Peepee!" So she got to see DiDi in the shower while Adia used the toilet. She was completely dry from overnight and peed a lake in the toilet. She's peed multiple times this morning already and almost completely dry. We've even managed to get her to actually eat some food too. She hasn't been eating much for the last week. I think she's been surviving on milk, apples and necco wafers.

Gamma and Unky Eck visited on Tuesday. Adia was happy to see them. Gamma, Scott, Adia and I went out to lunch at PF Changs. They're the only Chinese restaurant that Adia can eat at because they have a gluten free menu. I ordered the gluten free chicken lettuce wraps, but Adia wasn't impressed. She actually didn't eat much of anything. She was mostly interested in playing and jumping around the booth. She wouldn't stay in her booster at all.

Adia fell asleep in the car on the way to the mall. I transferred her to her stroller and she continued to sleep. We did some shopping and Adia got some cute new clothes. She missed picking them out since she was asleep. She woke up in the middle of JC Penny and was totally confused. I carried her for a bit and then she wanted to get down a walk. She was really excited, started to run and wasn't looking where she was going. She ended up slamming right into a pillar. She ended up with a big welt on her forehead which has now bruised.

After the mall, Unky Eck arrived at the house. Adia was surprised to see him and we all went outside to play. Eck took Adia down the slide, over and over again. She loved it. She was squealing and yelling, "weeee!" the whole way down. Adia wasn't happy when it was time to leave to pick up Gampa.

We ate at a restaurant on the Willamette river. Last time we ate there is was for my birthday. It's kinda spendy, but super yummy. I ordered Adia a cheeseburger, sans bun, but she all she did was eat the cheese off the top. She didn't want anything else. Gampa walked her around and Adia was able to see our food get cooked. She liked watching the ducks out the window too. We came home and she quickly took her bath and fell asleep. She was a tired girl.

We spent Wednesday by going for a couple walks and trying to avoid the rain. We didn't get as much rain as I thought we were going to get, but it was nice to cool off. It's starting to heat up again though.

DiDi arrived on Thursday and Adia freaked out when she saw her. She kept yelling "DiDi." After dinner we went for a walk on the river. Adia refused to stay in her stroller so she ended up walking. Of course she wanted to smell every flower and explore. DiDi ended up chasing her with the stroller and Adia was laughing and squealing as she ran away. We eventually put her back in the stroller because it was getting late (and dark). She wasn't happy so I put her on my shoulders. We walked several blocks like that while Adia tried to touch the tree branches.

Adia didn't want to get in the tub when we got back, but eventually did. She was really tired since she hadn't had a good nap. She went to sleep fairly easily.

Friday morning, DiDi and I walked to the mall with Adia. She didn't want to stay in the stroller, but she didn't have a choice. When we got there we let Adia play in the play area. She seemed shell shocked at first, but soon opened up and started having fun. She went down the slide over and over again. We were able to get her out of the play area by telling her we were going to see the puppies and kitties. She mostly liked the guinea pigs and the lizards though.

She fell asleep on the ride home after complaining for the longest time. She slept for over a hour and woke up just as Auntie Colie and her boyfriend arrived. DiDi left then and Adia was not happy about her going. We went to lunch, where once again, Adia didn't want to eat. Then it was back to the mall. Adia was kind of a brat and was only happy when she was playing with my sunglasses. We came home and Adia played with Colie and Casey before they had to go back home.

About a hour after they left, Scott finally woke up. Adia had been asking for Daddy for ages so she was happy to see him. Right before dinner, Adia told me she needed to peepee. I took her and could tell she had already peed in her pull up. I set her on the toilet anyway and she was grunting and straining like crazy. I told her it was ok if she didn't need to go anymore, it was a good try, but when I noticed she was pooping! I went crazy, jumping up and down and clapping. She just smiled and looked at me like I was nuts. I'm still in shock that she pooped on the potty. She always looks so proud of herself when she goes in the potty.

We had dinner and then Adia had fun with Scott in the tub. She went to bed pretty early. We cuddled in bed while watching a movie and both fell asleep before 9. Scott had to come in before he left and turn off the TV. Adia was up bright and early at 6 though asking for "Milk, Daddy and peepee." When we got up, she was mad to not find Daddy, but she did like her milk. She wouldn't pee though and then wanted to go back to bed. We were up again at 7. Adia wanted to snuggle in bed and watch part of the movie before getting up.

We don't have much to do today, but I do know we need to go to the store.

We had a movie night on Saturday night. We watched the Chipmunks. I know popcorn's a choking hazard for children under 3, but the girls love it.

We took the girls to the park on Sunday. Two adults and 3 girls make time at the park interesting. Lexi had finally realized you need to sit before going down the slide, so that helps. Adia has decided she wants to do everything Tanae does though and most of the stuff she's not quite old enough for.

Heather picked up her girls Sunday evening. Adia was really sad to see them go. She spent most of the evening walking around the house saying, "Nae? Lexi? Baby?" It was sad. She even climbed in Tanae's bed, pulled back the covers and said, "Nae?"

We went for a walk after they left. It started sprinkling and we got pretty damp. Adia wouldn't stay in the stroller. After dinner, DiDi introduced Adia to the new bath toy. DiDi bought a new boat which Tanae wasn't too interested in, but Adia loves. She even let Adia bring it home with her.

Adia and I read books after her bath and watched the olympics. She's really good at saying "Bus" and "school bus", but I didn't have much luck getting her to say it on camera.

She also tried some gymnastics on the slide.

DiDi drove us home on Monday morning. It took over a hour to get her carseat in the car. I hate the Cosco Scerena car seat! It's a pain in the ass to install rear facing. We finally got it installed so it wouldn't move and headed to Eugene. Adia was super happy to see Scott. We ended up leaving her with DiDi so we could see a movie. When we came home, she only wanted Daddy. She bi-passed me in the door to get to him. Adia slept 11 hours last night. I was amazed. She did attempt to get up at 6:30am, but I persuaded her to go back to sleep.

Now Gamma's here and we're headed to lunch. Adia was happy to see her too.

Singing HOT HOT HOT! Really Really Hot!

Adia likes to climb inside thing lately, laundry baskets, boxes, cabinets, and my personal favorite, 1 ft cubes. If she thinks she can fit in it, it's fair game. So far she hasn't gotten stuck, but we have heard several, "Help me"s. It always makes me laugh when I took over to see her barely peaking out. She's a little monkey, for sure.

Yesterday our house was so hot that Scott said there was no way I could make dinner. The kitchen is always the hottest room in the house and there was no exception yesterday. We jumped in the car, after Adia not napping all day long. (She doesn't do heat either) Within a few seconds of air conditioned comfort and the movement of the car, Adia was out cold. We arrived at Outback and Scott managed to get Adia out of the car without waking her up. She stayed asleep until my salad arrived. She always knows when I'm trying to eat. She either wakes up or suddenly appears.

Adia was sidetracked by crayons and coloring book though. We ordered her a burger, only to have it arrive with fries. Adia scarfed down some cheeseburger before grabbing a fry. I had my reservations about the fries though because most restaurant fries contain gluten. Adia didn't seem to like their fries anyway since they were so heavily seasoned. She'd take a bite and then hand me the fry. (yep, just confirmed from Outback's website. Their fries are NOT gluten free) She never got diarrhea from them, but she did wake up all night long and acted like her tummy hurt. When it was time to leave, I asked Adia if she wanted to keep her crayons and coloring book. I think she was telling me yes.

Scott waiting inside for the bill while Adia and I played out front. Adia still had the crayons though and apparently likes to write on walls. That's what she was doing in the following picture.

Scott soon joined us and Adia climbed into her car seat. I was driving and Scott was in the backseat with her. She always peaks her head over the top and said "hi!" before Scott could buckle her in. She jabbered the whole way home. When it was finally bedtime, she brought her baby to bed with her. It's her lovey object for sure. It's started to go everywhere with her. She slept with her arms around it all night.

It was supposed to be hotter today than yesterday and it was made even worse by never cooling off overnight. We were baking by 9am and Adia and I never went for our walk. She did ask for a bath at 10 though. She cooled off in the tub and helped me cool off by splashing me with water.

The heat doesn't seem to agree with Adia either. She's been really cranky and mischievous the last few days and it's taking it's toll on me. Today she took apart a puzzle that was in a frame. I spent a good hour trying to put it back together. Adia knew she was in trouble and just watched me. Despite being a little demon, she also knows how to be totally adorable. She found her beads and ran around the house in only her skirt and beads for the longest time. She soon lost her skirt after she went pee in her potty for like the millionth time today. She even started her day with a lake in her potty.

Adia soon woke Scott up. We had called DiDi and asked her to come get us. She had Tanae. Adia has been asking for Tanae since the last time she saw her. Once Scott walked in the living room, he understood why we wanted to go. We needed a place to cool off. Adia was soon asking for another bath. Scott plopped her on the tub and she was soon asking for bubbles! She was silly in the tub and loved the bubbles.

After she got out of the tub, we headed outside until DiDi arrived. Adia loved being in the grass under the trees and of course had to bring her baby with her. It was a humid 99 degrees outside. I was dying and soaking in sweat the second we walked outside, but Adia was happy. She just loves being outside. We weren't outside very long before DiDi arrived. Adia recognized her car immediate and started yelling, "DiDi!"

Adia was so happy to see her and even more excited when Tanae got out of the car. It was immediate hugs. We grabbed our bags, said goodbye to Scott and left. Adia and the girls were crazy in the backseat. Adia clapped along to "If you're happy and you know it".

When we pulled into DiDi's driveway, Adia said, "Yay!" She knew exactly where she was. We ate dinner. Adia loves Dinty More stew and it's made even better by the fact it's gluten free! They had popsicles for dessert, one of Adia's favorite foods, and then it was three sticky girls in the tub. Adia wanted out first, it was her third bath of the day.

Now it's almost bedtime. I don't know what we'll do tomorrow, but it will be way cooler than it's been. DiDi's taking us home on Monday to much cooler weather in Eugene too. When we arrived in Florence, it was 60 degrees and the fog was rolling in. Talk about a total change.

On a funny note. Adia keeps saying, "Help me. Help you." It cracks me up every time I hear it. It used to be just "Help me."
