Adia was in bed by 8:30 last night. At 9:30 I was in the kitchen and realized I hadn't checked to flip her if she'd rolled. The second I got to the hall, she started screaming. I run in there and sure enough, she'd flipped and couldn't get back. All the rocking and singing couldn't get her to calm down so I had to give her a bottle. She drank an ounce and a half and went back to sleep. She woke up again at 2:30, making the noise she normally makes when she's flipped on her tummy. I go check on her and she's not on her tummy. She's still on her side. Strange, I think. I pick her up and notice her whole side is wet. She must have peed out the side of her diaper. The crib's wet too. I changed everything, then brought her back to bed to feed her. She drank a couple ounces and went back to sleep. She woke me again at 4:30. She was babbling in her sleep. I got up, but she was still sound asleep. Then I was awake again at 5:30 to a scream. I flew out of bed, only to find a peacefully sleeping baby. She was still on her back, arms over her head. I have no idea why she cried. And of course, I was up for the day at 6:30. My little early bird.

When I went and picked her up, she was laying width wise with a grin on her face. She started talking to me. I brought her back to bed to see Scott. She started bouncing, making the whole bed move. Then the chattering started. Since Scott wasn't moving, we got up. I put her in the jumperoo and turned on a dim lamp because it was still kind of dark outside. Adia squinted at me, but then went back to hopping. She lasted about half a hour before she started to fuss. I assumed she had filled her diaper and I was right. It had leaked out the side of the diaper and onto her pjs. I called for Scott's help before opening it and he came running. I should have waited because it had been liquid diarrhea and had soaked into the diaper. There wasn't much of a mess to clean up. She did try to wiggle away though.

After her diaper change I thought we'd try some breakfast. She hadn't had a bottle yet and wasn't acting grumpy so I figured we might have a chance. I put her in the high chair and mixed her some oatmeal and sweet potatoes. She's now up to eating half a container at a time. She started opening her mouth huge and almost finished it all before fussing. I cleaned her up and took her in the bathroom to get her ready for our walk. It was another cold morning so I had to dress her in layers. I put on a long sleeved onesie and her new denim overalls. Then came her pink uggs and a sweatshirt.

before and after

We headed out. I clipped her chicken onto the stroller straps so she could chew on him while we walked. She talked to him for the first 15 minutes, but soon fell asleep. She slept for the next 30 minutes until we made it to the bottom of our steps. She seemed happy, but dazed. Despite all the layers she was wearing, her feet and hands were freezing cold. She played with Scott in the mirror while I took my shower. She likes to bang one of her stacking cups into everything, including mom and dad. After my shower, she played on the floor with Scott for a bit. He taught her that banging her numbers and letters inside the metal mixing bowl makes cool noises. She soon got hungry though and I held her while she ate 4oz. Then it was back to playing.

We had a few errands to run so into the car she went. She was not happy about being in the car seat, but liked being in the store. We picked up a new pair of shoes for her. They're so cute! Then Scott got his haircut. I kept Adia entertained by turning her upside down. We had to go back to WalMart to pick up the pictures I had printed because they weren't back before. We were just carrying Adia and wow did she start to feel heavy. It didn't help that she wiggles so much. Half the time she ends up getting carried like a football. When we got back to the car, Adia started crying. I fed her and she fell asleep. Of course when we got her out of the car, she woke up. She finished the bottle, but wouldn't go back to sleep. I was in desperate need of a nap, but she had other ideas.

reading her new toy with Scott

I was really dragging my feet so Scott told me he'd take her while I went and took a nap. Three hours later I woke back up. Scott let me know that he had gotten her to take a hour and twenty minute nap while I was sleeping. She happily played when she woke up, but shortly after I woke up, she started screaming and crying. She had tears streaming down her face. That's when we noticed she had a little white bump on the right bottom front of her gum. We gave her Tylenol, teething tablets and orajel. The orajel calmed her greatly and then once the Tylenol kicked in, she was back to being my happy little girl.

being silly in the kitchen

Scott and I had dinner and then it was Adia's turn. She ate her sweet potatoes and oatmeal like a champ and enjoyed drinking water out of her cup. She ended up smiling at Scott in the middle of eating. It was so sweet and you could tell she was feeling better. She didn't last too long in her bath, but she was all smiles and feet grabbing while laying down in the water. I also had her laughing in the mirror while getting lotioned. After getting dressed, I set Adia on the floor while I made her a bottle. She was perfectly happy playing and wouldn't have been to interested in eating if she hadn't fallen backwards. That got her upset and she needed mommy comfort.

She easily snuggled up and drank her bottle. She was asleep by 7:45, but when I went to lay her down, she woke up. I brought her back to the couch and got the biggest open mouthed grin. She drank another ounce before falling back to sleep.
