We spent some more time at Gramma and Papa's house and the girls got to hang out with Aunt Carol and Uncle Tony too. Leia has a new favorite person, Aunt Carol. They took a 2 hour nap together and Leia's been in love with her since. Mira seemed to really like Tony, and Adia loves them both. We went to the beach and Mira didn't eat quite so much sand.

The twins didn't like it when Adia took off to the water with Gramma though. They wanted in on the fun too.

They didn't get too far before Leia took a header into the sand so I had to pick them both up. We had fun though.

Adia let us know it was time to leave, but telling us she had too pee. Too bad the hike back was just a little too far. We made it into the bathroom and just as I was unzipping her jeans, she couldn't hold it anymore and she peed. I felt so bad for her.

Adia's had some fun at home too. DiDi took the twins and Adia and I hung out. Mostly she sat in the sun on the porch and played with water and chalk. She was soaking wet, ice cold and covered in chalk, but she played for ages and was so happy. Luckily, I was able to get the mess off her clothes too.

Yesterday, Daddy took Adia on errands while I took the twins to Costco. They rode in the cart and studied everything. They were actually pretty easy. I wish all stores had double carts. It would make shopping way easier.

Today was the twin's 9mo check up. It's almost a month late, but it's nearly impossible to get 2 appointments together with their pediatrician anymore. Mira is 27in and 18 lbs 10oz. She's 20% for height and 35% for weight. Leia is 27.4in and 17 lbs 9.4oz. She's 35% for height and 20% for weight. I thought it was funny that they were complete opposites percentile-wise. Both are completely healthy and hitting their milestones ahead of schedule. She was surprised to know that Mira claps, Leia loves to bang toys together and both babies crawl, pull up and cruise. She also couldn't believe that Mira's standing unassisted now. No shots today (Yay! Adia was worried they'd need some) and they're not anemic. I can't believe that their next appointment will be at a year and that's only a couple months away! How did that happen???

Wild Weather

Our weather has been crazy lately. Sun half the day and rain the next. That happened to us a couple days ago. I promised Adia a walk when Mira woke up, but then it was raining! We took a walk anyway, but it poured. I’m very glad my stroller came with a rain cover.

A few days before it had poured rain as well so Adia and I managed to make some cookies,

and paint some pictures.

We were very grateful it was nice yesterday though. Papa had the day off and Gramma wasn’t subbing so we decided to visit. Adia was happy to have Papa to play with.

The twins got to experience grass for the first time too. We discovered that Leia is the grass eater and Mira was just confused by the stuff.

As usual, the girls had fun playing in the living room after dinner too.

Let’s Go Fly a Kite

We had another impromptu coast trip last week. The weather was gorgeous and Adia wanted to go to the beach. We picked up Gramma and headed to the beach. It was absolutely wonderful. Hardly any wind, lots of sun and warmth. The twins experienced sand for the first time too. We set them down and they attempted crawling. Mira is our sand eater though. Yuck. She just kept eating it, no matter how closely we watched her.

Adia and I played in the water. It was freezing, which is pretty typical for the Oregon Coast. We splashed and ran from the waves.

After playing in the water, Daddy and Adia dug a deep hole. That eventually led to Adia chest deep in the sand. I think we’ll be finding sand in her pockets for months.

Then it was time for kite flying. Adia’s never flown a kite before and she was so excited. Daddy helped her get it in the air and she ran all over the beach with it.

The storm clouds started to arrive so we knew it was time to leave. I don’t think Adia ever wanted to leave.

Easter

We had a pretty good Easter. A bit too much candy/chocolate, but that's to be expected. It was fun playing Easter bunny for Adia this year because she was so excited. I took an idea from McMommy and made a trail of plastic eggs from Adia's room to the Easter baskets. When she woke up in the morning, she kicked one of the eggs and was totally surprised. She asked me why there was an egg in the hall. She then followed the eggs to her basket and went bonkers. She was so happy. She was also soon very high on chocolate and sugar.

After eating breakfast, we drove back to Gramma and Papa's house. I did a big mommy fail and realized I didn't buy Easter dresses for the girls. Whoops. Adia had a few she could wear, but I only had 1 dress for the twins from when Adia was a year old. That wouldn't exactly work so the girls all wore overalls instead. Since the twins are walking anyway, overalls work better.

Adia was so happy to be at Gramma and Papa's house. She dyed Easter eggs, blew bubbles with Papa and was chased around the house by Eck and Colie.

When it came time to eat, she wasn't interested. She wanted to play instead, but the twins were all about the food. Mira pretty much eats anything and Leia's starting to get better about feeding herself. I bought booster seats just so feeding them would be easier. It worked perfectly. They were thoroughly covered in food by the time they finished.

After dinner, we celebrated Papa's birthday. I had baked a carrot cake and some vanilla cupcakes since I had a feeling Adia wouldn't want carrot cake. Adia couldn't wait to help Papa with his candles. She then had him open presents. Adia picked out Papa's present all by herself. She wanted to get him a hat that said "Papa". I took her to the hat store and she picked the navy blue hat, told the lady she wanted green lettering and picked the font. I was really proud of her. I have a feeling Papa will be wearing the hat quite a bit from now on.

Adia was really sad that we couldn't spend the night, but her 3 year appointment was the next morning along with her first dental cleaning in the afternoon. Her appointment went well. Adia is now 27.8lbs and 36in tall. She's the 25th percentile for both and perfectly healthy. She let her doctor listen to her heart and look in her mouth and ears. I felt horrible though because she ended up getting a shot that I had no idea she needed. Apparently she missed a shot previously because there was a shortage so she had to make up for it now. I haven't heard her scream like that in ages, but it as over quickly. I did have to give her tylenol yesterday because she was so cranky.

Her first dental cleaning was later that afternoon. It took some time for her to warm up to the hygienist, but once she did, she was perfect. Her teeth look awesome and there's no signs of any decay. Exactly what I want to hear. She giggled like crazy when they painted the fluoride on and then she got a prize. She's been asking to brush her teeth at least once a day since.

Sadly, I had to take Leia to the doctor today. Daddy noticed her eye was red and when he looked closer, it looked sliced. Adia later told me that she got her in the eye with a colored pencil. I took her in and luckily, she's fine. It's just a very nasty looking sub conjunctive hemorrhage. It will take a couple weeks to heal, but she should be fine. She didn't particularly enjoy the staining of her eye to find that out. We held her down while the doctor put what looked like highlighter ink in her eye and then looked at it under a black light. Leia was not happy, but she didn't scream nearly as bad as Mira and Adia had been. I had to strap Adia into the stroller because she refused to follow directions and kept trying to climb on the table. I was worried she'd get hurt. Her screaming caused Mira to start screaming. It was bad. Not something I want to do again. They also weighed Leia and she's 17lbs 2oz! She'll be 9 months tomorrow. Adia was 18lbs at 1 year. I can't believe how big the twins are since I know Mira weighs more.

Happy Easter!

Is this my little Easter bunny in training or just my mischief maker who refuses to sleep?
