Adia didn't sleep too well last night. She woke up every hour from 3am until 8, when we got up for the day. Then she played in her jumperoo for a bit. I started to get hungry so we had breakfast. When I put her in the high chair, she saw the bowl of oatmeal and was desperately trying to grab it. I thought for sure that she was hungry, but nope. She ate a few bites and then got mad. She started saying, "Dadadada." So I finished my breakfast and she got a bottle. We ended up falling asleep on the couch for a hour and a half. It was nice. We both woke up refreshed.

Scott woke up then and it was shower time. I got to take mine first and it was so nice not to have a screaming baby.

After our showers we played on the floor for a bit. She likes her new toy because it lights up and plays music. She didn't last long though. She was ready for another bottle and "snap".

Yay for new toys!

After her "snap" we went back to blockbuster. They hadn't removed the yellow locking thingy from the movie we rented yesterday. Adia babbled like crazy in the car. Our next stop was Subway. When we were done eating, Scott was wrapping up half of his sandwich and Adia lunged for it. While lunging it sounded like she said, "I was gonna eat that." It was pretty funny. She talked most of the way home and then crashed on Scott again.

Scott had to hand her off to me, so she woke up, but after eating a little more, she went back to sleep. He kissed her goodbye before heading to work. When she woke up a little later she was perfectly content to play on the floor with her new toy. This gave me a moment to put her professional 3 month pics in frames (only 3 months behind ain't bad). Then she went in the jumperoo while I hung the pictures. She jumped for a long time and let me get them ALL hung. Then she got fussy so it was another bottle before passing out in my arms.

It was dinnertime when she woke up. I made her some oatmeal and opened a container of sweet potatoes. She wasn't too interested in the oatmeal again, but the first bite of sweet potatoes went right down. She ended up eat all the sweet potatoes I had put in her bowl before getting crabby. Of course it took two spoons to feed her though. She wants to feed herself so she grabs the spoon and shoves it in. I usually can't get it back until she gets sidetracked with the second spoon. Eventually she got bored though and dinner was over. It was interesting to clean her up though. She had orange EVERYWHERE! All over her chin, in her eyebows, on her nose. At least she'll be getting a bath tonight.

Incoming sweet potatoes

And the stolen spoon.

We moved to the couch where she drank 3oz. I thought for sure she was going to fall asleep, but no. She decided she wanted to play instead. Her new favorite game is for me to hold her almost upside down. She likes to look at everything upside down I guess. It always gets big smiles and sometimes laughs. It's dangerous after she eats though. Maybe Scott will be able to get a picture of it tomorrow. She also became fascinated with my laptop. I was uploading pictures and then watching the videos I took of her today. I guess she thought the baby was cute because I couldn't divert her attention away.

Then it was bath time. I had to figure out a new way to do bath time though. Scott's no longer home to help and now that Adia's almost 15 lbs, getting her in and out of the tub while I'm in it becomes very difficult. So we tried something new tonight. Instead of bathing with her, she'd get the tub to herself. I laid a folded up towel in the bottom of the tub. Started the water and threw her toys in. She as sitting on the counter in her bebe pod, smiling at the baby in the mirror. When there was just about 1.5-2 inches of water in the tub, I set her on the towel, sitting up. She looked over at me with huge eyes and started splashing. She was looking all around her and grabbing at everything. I guess she realized her new found independence. She was so happy.

Sitting pretty

After leaning over and splashing with her hands for a good 10 minutes, she motioned that she wanted to lay back. I helped her lay down on the towel and she smiled up at me. That's when the REAL splashing started. She would bring her legs up as far as she could and then slam them down into the water. She was splashing water everywhere. Then she got her hands in on the action too. She let me wash her hair while she laid there and then the rest of her. The whole time smiling and splashing. She even spun herself around at one point and bonked her head on the side of the tub. She looked surprised, but didn't cry. I moved her back on the towel and she splashed some more. After a bit she wanted to sit again. I sat her up and she was trying to chase the turtles around the tub. She would get so happy when she finally caught one. She'd chew on it, then drop it and go for another.

Happy girl

When she had had enough, she grabbed the edge of the tub and tried to stand. I picked her up and set her in her hooded towel covered bouncy seat. She was grinning and trying to sit up. I set her on the counter and after putting on her diaper, I let her sit and look at herself in the mirror. She would smile at herself and then look up at me. When she'd see me in the mirror she'd smile and look behind her at me. While she was occupied with the baby in the mirrow I rubbed lotion all over her. Then dressed her. All while sitting.

Then came her usual bottle and snuggles on the couch. She didn't eat very much, so I'm hoping she sleeps well tonight. She did have sweet potatoes so maybe she will.
