Teething Bites

We've had a rough couple of days. I've been sleeping in the living room with Adia so we can at least get a little sleep and Scott can be rested for work. She's been waking up multiple times, but as long as I keep her dosed in Tylenol and make sure she has a bottle, it's been okay. She'll generally go back to sleep pretty easily. On Saturday she slept until 8 even, was awake a couple hours and went back to sleep. Today she woke at 7:30, played for a hour, got incredibly cranky and after the Tylenol kicked in, we took a nap for 2 hours. She slept most of the day today and definitely still has a fever.

On Saturday Tanae and DiDi visited. Tanae was a little confused about Adia's crawling. At one point Adia crawled over to Tanae and tried to use her to climb. This didn't go over well with Tanae who looked very alarmed. She then pushed Adia over. This left Adia in tears which made Tanae upset too. It's going to be very interesting the next few months as they learn to play together.

We then went shopping. Adia was awesome in the cart. She was having a blast and really enjoyed it every time we got near Tanae. They would squeal and babble at each other. Adia got a booster seat to use when we visit relatives. Tanae kept throwing everything out of the cart. We knew it was time to go when Adia started screaming bloody murder. Her Tylenol had worn off and she was letting us know. I held her while we waited in line and she just kept laying her head on my shoulder. I felt so bad for her. She was burning up and kept grabbing her mouth. I truly hate teething.

She fell asleep on the way home, but woke up the second we walked in the door. She was so excited to be home. I had given her Tylenol in the car so maybe it was already working too. Shortly after Scott came home and we thought we'd risk going to dinner. Adia started in the high chair, but bumped herself and started crying. She had her first taste of hamburger and seemed to enjoy sharing my food. I regretted it this morning when I changed her diaper though. It was STINKY!

Bath time was fun. She was really silly in the tub and we were both really pruney when she decided it was time to get out. She was acting tired, but refused to settle down. She just wanted to crawl all over the living room. At around 10:30, I was falling asleep so I made her a bottle, turned off all the lights and held on tight. By 11 she had started to fall asleep after another dose of Tylenol. I'm starting to feel like I'm drugging her. She woke up a few times, but it wasn't too bad.

Today was an interesting day though. She would only wake for an hour or two before drinking a bunch and falling back asleep. She got in two really good naps before we went to Walmart. She wore the raincoat that Tanae out grew. It fit her perfectly and is a total necessity. It's been pouring rain the last few days. She really seemed to like it, including the hood. I bought her a new sleeper since she only has a few that fit anymore. Hopefully she gets some for Christmas.

Adia loved the rain. She was just staring in awe at the giant puddle in our parking lot. If she was older I bet she'd want to splash in it. I took her inside and she started screaming. Another bottle and another nap. While she slept I was able to wrap Christmas presents. It was great timing. She woke up just as Scott got home. He tried playing with her and reading her new book, but she was in full on mommy mode. She's been like that for days.

It was soon dinnertime. Adia tried a new yogurt flavor tonight, raspberry pear. I took a taste too and think it's better than the others she's had. She also tried picking up peas, but I don't think any of them got in her mouth. Guess she's not a big pea fan. She did eat her graham crackers though. She was being goofy and kept making funny faces and laughing. She laughs whenever anyone burps too. It's pretty funny, but I know we shouldn't be encouraging it.

It was another nice long bath tonight. She was eager to get in the tub. She splashed and splashed and didn't mind me washing her hair. When she got out she tried to crawl away. After she was dressed, Scott let her and she took off. She first investigated the hallway, then she tried to go into the bathroom. She got really mad when Scott closed all the doors. She came back down the hallway and went after the laundry. Once she was bored with that, it was under the jumperoo. She tried to climb up me before getting sidetracked again. Then back to the jumperoo.

Sitting next to the tub

Right now she's in the jumperoo, bouncing like crazy. It's not going to last much longer, but hopefully she'll have used up her energy and will go to sleep. Otherwise we may have a repeat of last night. Of course, it is close to Tylenol time.
