She was a happy, silly girl when she woke up, but since she had slept so long in the same diaper, she was damp on the side. I changed her right away and brought her back to the living room to play. She was crawling all over the place, having lots of gas. I was just waiting for the total blow out. She crawled back to me, fussing when she had pooped. It was a nasty one. It stayed contained in her diaper though. So glad we bought 3s instead of 2s this time. The have plenty of extra room for all the poopy. She then went back to playing for a little bit before getting cranky again.
This time she was hungry. It had been several hours since she'd last ate and once again, she drank 6oz. She didn't fall back asleep though and wanted to play instead. Since she was preoccupied with her toys and crawling, I folded laundry while she tried to unfold it all. She only got upset when I tried to put it away. Then she let me clean the bathroom. I was just about to scrub the bathroom when she started to come crawling in. I set her back in the living room, where she quickly got sidetracked so I could finish. Then it was a cranky baby again. I made her a bottle and snuggled up with her on the futon. She quickly fell asleep, and so did I.
She was smiling, but I missed it
Adia woke up kind of cranky. I was hungry so we ate lunch together. Adia had eggos for the first time and she loved them. I broke off little pieces and she tried picking them up, with little success. I then gave her a chunk she could hold. She was in heaven. She just sat there and chewed on it. I had to make more when she finished. At one point she had a waggon wheel in one hand and eggo in the other. She didn't want to drop either of them. She also ate 1/2 container of pears, a little bit of egg yolk and tried some peach chunks. She wasn't so keen on the peaches though. She was a total goober when she finished though. I fed her with her clothes on this time and the food was everywhere. I stripped her before taking her into the bathroom to wash her off.
Behold the power of Eggo!
Then it was back to investigating the living room. She's really begun to get curious. She climbed over a big pile of pillows to get to my laptop. Then she discovered the second pink cube that had toys in it. She had her whole body in it, trying to reach the stuff in the back. I couldn't find my camera so I missed a really good picture and only had her coming back out of it. Maybe I'll get another chance later. She's really starting to look like a little girl. It makes me a little sad. She's not my baby anymore, but she's definitely my little girl.
Not long after crawling in the cube, she took off down the hallway. I didn't think much of it since she doesn't normally go far and our bedroom door was closed. I could hear her moving too. Then it suddenly got quiet. Any mom gets worried when there's silence. I looked down the hallway and no baby! I ran down the hall and looked into her room. There she was, sitting in the middle of her room, playing with a hanger. She was perfectly fine and happy. I brought her back to the living room and closed her door too. Now if she goes down the hallway, there's nowhere to go.
She soon got cranky again. I made her a bottle and she laid back to drink it. I thought she was going to fall asleep, but she was too busy watching Oprah. There was soon a knock on our door and our sofa was being delivered. They had some troubles getting it up the stairs and in the door. I didn't remember it being so huge! It looks ginormous in our living room, but it's just so comfy. Adia watched with big eyes, but didn't move.
After they left, she sat up and just stared at the sofa. She started shaking her bottle and in the process, flipped off the futon mattress and hit her head hard on the floor. I rescued her, but she was sobbing. I felt horrible. I handed her the remote and everything was right in the world again. She sat on the couch, smiling and shaking the remote. Somehow she even managed to mute Oprah. She looked very confused when that happened. I'm really loving how she responds to her name now. You say her name and she looks right at you with a big grin on her face. Now if only I could get better at catching it with the camera.
She soon let me know she wanted to jump so into the jumperoo she went. She jumped for a very long time before screaming "Mama" and reaching for me. I pulled her out and she immediately wiggled to get on the ground. She spent then next 45 minutes terrorizing the living room while I made dinner. She went under a table and behind a chair. She chewed on slippers and shoes. She's really starting to explore. Scott came home shortly afterwards. Adia got really excited and started saying "Dada!" They played while I finished dinner.
Adia didn't eat much for dinner. She had half a yogurt, a couple bites of pears and some toast. She wasn't really interested in eating. She did like her bath though. She had one on her own. It's been a few weeks since she sat in the tub on her own. She had a blast until Scott washed her face. She was NOT happy about that. Then she just wanted out.
I dried her off and put on her diaper. She tried to crawl off before I could get her pjs on. She crawled around a bit before Scott made her a bottle. She didn't want to drink it and just started fussing. I think she's about to go full on mommy mode though.
