After she got up for the day around 7:30, I laid on the couch while she explored the living room. I'm so glad that everything on her level is pretty much baby proofed. I want her to have free range without worrying all the time. Of course she occasionally finds something anyway. Today she was particularly interested in the jogging stroller. She pulled herself all the way over to it and started eating the hand strap. Then it was the tires and spokes she wanted. Pretty soon she was whining again. I picked her up and gave her a bottle. She guzzled it quickly, but only slightly dozed. She wouldn't fall asleep.
We had a few errands to run today so I took my shower. She cried through the whole thing and ended it screaming. She was only happy if she could see me and had my undivided attention. I soon learned that I have a little Houdini on my hands. She can almost wiggle all the way out of her bouncy seat, while buckled in. I was so scared she was going to topple out. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to take showers if she won't stay in it. After getting dressed, I picked her up and took her back to the living room. I snuggled her on the couch, gave her another bottle an she actually fell asleep. She slept for over a hour, but she woke up too early because I tried to move her. I was starving by then. She was completely confused. After holding her until she calmed, I set her on the floor. She started crying, but I needed something to eat. As soon as I was out of eye sight, she started playing with her toys. When I walked back in, she started crying again. She tried climbing me while I ate.
I got her ready to head out when I finished eating. She fought getting her coat on, but was happy to go out the door. She smiled and cooed when I put her in the car seat. She was even laughing while I drove. I was looking for something very specific so we stopped at Michaels first. I was going to let Adia ride in the cart, but she had been so clingy today that I used the Kozy instead. She LOVED it. She was so happy to be snuggled so close. I also managed to fold it down enough to it was below her head and she could look around. Adia already officially loves Christmas and she's never even opened a present yet. She loves the lights, but really loves the bells. There was a wreath made of bells. I shook it and Adia grinned. She wouldn't take her eyes off of it. I should have bought it, just for her entertainment. She was also fascinated by the little village houses. They had a couple that moved and made noise. We walked down that row a few times and every time she was all smiles and squeals. She'd even reach for them. I didn't find everything I wanted at Michaels so we walked across the parking lot to Walmart. I couldn't see the point of putting her back in the car seat for such a short drive. They didn't have what I wanted either.
The best moment of my day happened when we got back to the car. As I was taking Adia out of the Kozy, we were face to face in the backseat. She got the biggest grin on her face and gave me a big hug and kiss. We nuzzled noses and just sat there for at least 5 minutes. She was just so happy. She was still happy when I put her back in the car seat. When we got back and I opened the back door, Adia gave me a big grin. She then got spooked by the leaf blower nearby. She hates the noise they make and I don't like it much either. She doesn't like lawn mowers either. I guess she won't have anymore leaves to eat. I carefully held her while we got out and grabbed my bags. I didn't want to drop her if she startled again.
We got back in and Adia wanted to play. I set her down and she took off exploring. It didn't last very long before she was crying again. The second I picked her up, I knew she had pooped. It was a little poop though and pretty easy to clean up. I set her back on the floor after she was clean, but she didn't want to play. I made her a bottle and she fell asleep on me. She slept for the next 2 hours and woke just after Scott got home. She was really surprised to see him, but happy too. I left Adia with Scott so I could make dinner. She wanted his undivided attention, but once six o'clock hit, she just wanted dinner. She ate yogurt, sweet potatoes with turkey and fruity cherrios for dinner. She ate pretty well, but was having a hard time with the cheerios. Her coordination was off.
Bath time was interesting. She just wanted in and out. I was able to wash her off, but then she tried to climb out. She just wasn't feeling the bath today. She was silly when she got out though. We got desitin everywhere trying to put it on her, but she was happy. She was obviously not in a sleepy mood when she got out so Scott put her on the floor to play. She took off under the jumperro and was fine until she just stuck. She couldn't turn herself around. Scott rescued her, but she had pooped. He cleaned her up and brought her back. She was cranky this time. We tried feeding her, but she wouldn't hold still. After fighting with her, Scott put her back on the floor. She was perfectly content talking to her octopus and trying to crawl.
Something tells me it's going to be a VERY long night. I'm already exhausted so it's not too promising. Tomorrow Adia gets to see her Gamma and Gampa G. We're going sofa searching again and to eat lunch with Scott at work. Should be interesting.
