When we woke up, I thought we'd take a shower. I got everything ready just as Scott woke up. He watched Adia so I could wash my hair and then when I was ready, he handed her to me. She was a little confused about the shower, but enjoyed the skin to skin time with mommy. Just as we were about to get out, I felt something really warm on my side. At first I thought it was just the shower, but soon realized it was lots warmer than the water. That's when it clicked. She peed! After rinsing us off, I tried handing her to Scott. She wouldn't let go of me. She's like a little monkey. We finally got her off me and he dried her off. I got dressed and we decided to put her in a pamper since she was looking even worse. I slathered her in aveeno diaper rash cream and put on the diaper. Scott dressed her and we headed out to the couch while Scott took a shower.
We had been planning on going to the store, but Adia started crying. I gave her a bottle and she fell asleep for a hour. After she woke up, we went to the store. We put her in the cart this time, using the cover. She looked a little surprised at first, but then started kicking her feet and babbling. She looks so tiny sitting there. She had fun watching everyone and all the colorful food. She especially liked the produce department. She lasted almost the whole time except for a few minutes when Scott held her. She watched us put everything in the cart.
When we got home from the store, Scott gave her a bottle while I put everything away. He got her to fall asleep again. It would have been great, but it was almost time to take Scott to work. I managed to pick her up and keep her back to sleep. He got everything ready for work and we were ready to go. It was pouring rain though so I threw my raincoat over her. She was still asleep until I set her in the car seat. The second I started to set her in it, she woke up and looked very mad. She stayed awake through the whole drive, smiling at Scott. Just seconds after dropping Scott off, Adia started crying. She cried all the way home. She only stopped when I gave her a bottle. She fell asleep and slept in my arms for the next two hours.
She was really cranky when she woke up. She kept crying so I picked her up and walked her around. Then I changed her diaper, which wasn't even wet and brought her back to the living room. When we got near her toys, she did the full body reach. I took the hint and set her in the middle of them. She quickly forgot I was even there. I did a few things that needed to be done and I could hear her babbling like crazy. When I came back into the living room, she was talking and punch Eeyore. She actually kept doing it after I got the camera out.
It was then dinnertime. Adia wanted nothing to do with the carrots, but reluctantly ate her pears. She decided the carrots worked better as finger paints than as food. I noticed later that she even got them in her ears. She drank a little bit out of her sippy cup, but chewed on the handles more. I cleaned her up and we went into the bathroom. She talked to Bob for a little bit and started wiggling when she saw me near the bathtub. She happily played in the tub, eating her cups and grabbing turtles. She would grab a cup, hold it high above her head and than slam it down into the water. She got really good at splashing me. That's when Scott texted me to let me know I needed to pick him up. He was being sent home because he still sounded sick. Shortly after Adia wanted out of the tub. I slathered her in so much desitin, it looked like paint. Then came the diaper and pjs.
I wrapped her in a blanket before we headed out the door. She fussed on and off all the way there. We had to wait for him and she cried the whole time. She was happy and a little confused to see him though. Then she just kept giving him dirty looks. When we got home, we couldn't get her a bottle fast enough. She drank 4oz and started to get drowsy. She woke back up though when she finished the bottle. Scott made her 2 more, but it was too late. She started kicking and bouncing. She desperately wanted to play. I handed her too Scott and she was all smiles. She started grabbing his face and even bit his nose. Then she got a kick out of him blowing in her face.
Hopefully she'll get to sleep eventually tonight and sleep for more than a couple hours.
