Adia refused to eat her dinner last night. She's decided she doesn't like meatloaf anymore. She did play with a green bean for the longest time. She took a quick bath, played for a bit and then passed out. She slept in her own bed until 3am, which isn't too bad. It would be nice if she'd sleep a little later than 6:45 though.
She climbed over me, slid off the bed, opened the bedroom door and went running down the hall to the living room. She was so happy to see him sitting in the living room. After following him around for awhile, she decided it was breakfast. I followed her to the kitchen and her chair. She keeps trying to climb in in, but can't quite get the height. She gobbled up her egg, but when she heard Super Why on TV, breakfast was over. I couldn't get her out fast enough. She watched all of Super Why before deciding it was bath time.
We took our bath together. It's been ages since I took so many baths and actually played. No more soaking in bubble baths with a good book or magazine anymore. After we were both dressed, Adia started whining at me. I asked her if it was already "Nigh Nigh" and she headed towards the kitchen. I made her a bottle and she went running down the hall, into her bedroom. She quickly climbed into bed, grabbed the bottle and tried to lay down. That's a first. She only napped for a hour though. Short naps are hard on me. She woke up happy at least, but I could tell she was still tired.
We ate lunch and she was starting to get cranky. Little things kept frustrating her and she wasn't happy no matter what I was doing. She didn't want me to hold her, play with her, ignore her. She was just whining and whining. I got the bright idea to leave the house and we went to Walmart. She was actually pretty good, but kept trying to open my new shampoo and squirt it everywhere. She did get a new book, "Goodnight Moon," and a giant ball. I think it's bigger than she is. She's pretty good at throwing it too.
When we got back, we walked to get the mail. There was a squirrel, but no matter how long I pointed and said, "Look, a squirrel." She didn't see it. We had hurricane winds today so she didn't end up walking the whole way. She wanted me to carry her. We came back in and Scott woke up just a few minutes later. I attempted to make dinner, but Adia kept attacking me. She ended up falling and hitting her head on the table leg. I was cutting up raw chicken so I couldn't scoop her up. Scott tried to soothe her, but it wasn't working. The only thing that helped was her baby doll. She started carrying it around the house, hugging it tight and giving it kisses.
Soon it was dinner time. Adia ate her hamburger and toast, but refused the broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. She didn't go crazy over her grapes either. We still have 1/2 a sugar cookie left so she got part of it for dessert. Then it was a fast bath and back to playing. She talked on the phone to Gamma and DiDi. Now, it's not even 9 and she's asleep in her bed. Hopefully she sleeps well tonight. I don't need a cranky girl for her appointment tomorrow.
