We went back to Borders again today. We were trying to find Mother's Day presents for the grandmas and not having much luck. Adia did though. She's suddenly become obsessed with Elmo. I should say that's another new word too. If you ask her, "Who's that?" while pointing at Elmo, she says, "It 'mo." It's so funny. Anyway, she has ANOTHER book. It's a talking Elmo one that came with a stuffed Elmo. She hugged Elmo while we wandered through Old Navy. She's been big into hugging stuffed animals and baby dolls lately too. It's positively adorable and I actually have a picture of it later in the post. Adia got more clothes, like usual. All stuff for summer.
When we got home, Scott was awake. I wanted to walk to the mall, buy gifts and let Adia play, but just as we walked in the door, Scott got a call from work. They wanted him to come in early (say several hours early). We ended up driving him to work and Adia cried all the way home. She was not a happy camper. She wanted to play with Daddy. She hasn't had much time with him lately since he's had his wisdom teeth removed and was at a meeting all day yesterday.
Adia ate 1/2 a banana when we got home and then we ran around outside. She threw a fit when it was time to come inside, but it was almost dinnertime. While I attempted to make dinner, Adia hovered around my feet and tried to get me to read her new books. As it got closer and closer to dinner, she started complaining more. I had no idea how hungry she was until I finally put her in her chair and put her plate in front of her. She devoured a cup of mac and cheese (her other favorite food), most of a hot dog, her leftover grilled cheese and several grapes. The amazing part was she hardly dropped anything. It all went in. She was covered in cheese sauce though.
Then it was definitely bath time. I think she took the longest bath of her life tonight. She was in it for at least 30 minutes and would have probably lasted longer if I hadn't turned the water back on. That scared her and she wanted out. I had to wash her hair. There was cheese sauce in it too.
We had another hour to play before bed. Adia was super silly and giggly. She was probably in such a great mood because she was totally full. She had some naked time (because I couldn't catch her) and after chasing her for a bit, she came back to get dressed. She snuggled her doll, but every time I pulled out the camera for a picture, she'd drop the doll, hold up her hand and then run away, yelling "no no no!" I guess you can tell how she feels about the camera. Then it was back to the barn before finally deciding it was bedtime.
She's still very much into that tote I bought her. She loves putting stuff in it and finding it later. It pretty much goes everywhere she does. All she needs now is a wallet and some keys.
Surprisingly, bedtime was pretty easy again. I read her books, talked and snuggled her before she let me know that she wanted to lay in her bed. She held my hand as she fell asleep. I love how she does that.
