Pool Party

I just picked up the pictures I dropped off at Walmart. I knew the underwater camera needed a flash to take good pictures, but it didn't come with one. How frustrating! For the most part, the pictures are grainy and just plain bad. With a little digital editing, I was able to save a few, but they're still not great. Oh well, at least we all had tons of fun, especially Adia. She keeps asking to go back to the pool.

Adia immediately grabbed onto Auntie Colie. She wasn't so sure about the water, but as long as she had Colie, she was good. Colie swam around with her once Adia was too terrified of the water. Adia soon got the hang of things and wanted to try out other pools.

Daddy took Adia into the wave pool. She immediately loved it. Those waves were strong though so someone had to have a firm grip on her at all times. The wave would splash over Daddy, occasionally getting Adia in the face, and she would laugh and squeal. She absolutely loved it.

Papa and Colie were able to tear her away from Daddy to check out the mushroom. Adia kept calling it the shower. There were too many kids at first, but they eventually went to other places so Adia wasn't so scared. Adia didn't particularly like going through the water to sit with Papa and Colie, but once inside, she thought it was cool. She would put her hands out or laugh when Papa let the water hit him and splash her.

Adia wanted back in the pool with Colie. They swam around and Papa and Daddy would swim underwater and pop up right in front of her. Adia thought it was great and let out many screams of glee.

It as pretty obvious she was getting tired and she wanted Mommy again. She took a quick break with me and then headed back out to play with Colie, this time checking out the kiddie pool.

The kiddie pool is very very warm and shallow enough for Adia. It was packed when we first got there, but it had thinned out considerably. Adia wasn't so sure about the other children, even the little girl who was around her size and close in age. The little girl kept waving at Adia, and Adia kept giving her a look like, back off.

We tried the regular pool out to see if Adia would like to just float. She didn't, at all. She's panic when I tried to let her float on her back, even though I wasn't letting go of her at all. She did like it when I floated with her. Swimming with a LARGE baby belly is a very odd feeling. It was like I had my own flotation device, but it felt good too.

The time passed really quickly and before we knew it, it was almost time to leave. Before we could, Adia wanted to play in the waves some more with Papa and Daddy. By that point, Adia had become pretty brave and didn't want to hold onto anyone. She laid down on her belly in the shallowest water and Papa and Daddy followed suit. Adia soon discovered that the waves here higher than expected so she jumped on Papa's back! She was laughing hysterically when the water came in. I wish I hadn't used up all our pictures before then.

Adia never wanted to leave and we had to carry her, kicking and screaming back to the dressing room. While I got our stuff ready for a shower, Gramma took Adia to the shower with her. As I was headed the direction of the shower, out came a running Adia, right into my arms. I held Adia in the shower, washing her hair and making sure to wash all the chlorine off her skin. I didn't get much of a shower, but I know how sensitive her skin is. DiDi was all dressed when I brought Adia back. Adia was still wearing her swim diaper, even though she was wrapped in a towel. The swim diaper left two huge wet spots on DiDi's pants.

It was agreed that we were all hungry so we picked a place for dinner and piled in the cars. Adia was asleep before we were back on the highway. She slept through dinner and woke up just as we were leaving. She at least got to say goodbye to everyone, but her tummy was still empty. DiDi made her some Dinty Moore stew when we got home and Adia ate almost the entire can by herself!

I hope we'll get to go swimming again soon. It was so much fun and Adia keeps asking to go back.
