Singing HOT HOT HOT! Really Really Hot!

Adia likes to climb inside thing lately, laundry baskets, boxes, cabinets, and my personal favorite, 1 ft cubes. If she thinks she can fit in it, it's fair game. So far she hasn't gotten stuck, but we have heard several, "Help me"s. It always makes me laugh when I took over to see her barely peaking out. She's a little monkey, for sure.

Yesterday our house was so hot that Scott said there was no way I could make dinner. The kitchen is always the hottest room in the house and there was no exception yesterday. We jumped in the car, after Adia not napping all day long. (She doesn't do heat either) Within a few seconds of air conditioned comfort and the movement of the car, Adia was out cold. We arrived at Outback and Scott managed to get Adia out of the car without waking her up. She stayed asleep until my salad arrived. She always knows when I'm trying to eat. She either wakes up or suddenly appears.

Adia was sidetracked by crayons and coloring book though. We ordered her a burger, only to have it arrive with fries. Adia scarfed down some cheeseburger before grabbing a fry. I had my reservations about the fries though because most restaurant fries contain gluten. Adia didn't seem to like their fries anyway since they were so heavily seasoned. She'd take a bite and then hand me the fry. (yep, just confirmed from Outback's website. Their fries are NOT gluten free) She never got diarrhea from them, but she did wake up all night long and acted like her tummy hurt. When it was time to leave, I asked Adia if she wanted to keep her crayons and coloring book. I think she was telling me yes.

Scott waiting inside for the bill while Adia and I played out front. Adia still had the crayons though and apparently likes to write on walls. That's what she was doing in the following picture.

Scott soon joined us and Adia climbed into her car seat. I was driving and Scott was in the backseat with her. She always peaks her head over the top and said "hi!" before Scott could buckle her in. She jabbered the whole way home. When it was finally bedtime, she brought her baby to bed with her. It's her lovey object for sure. It's started to go everywhere with her. She slept with her arms around it all night.

It was supposed to be hotter today than yesterday and it was made even worse by never cooling off overnight. We were baking by 9am and Adia and I never went for our walk. She did ask for a bath at 10 though. She cooled off in the tub and helped me cool off by splashing me with water.

The heat doesn't seem to agree with Adia either. She's been really cranky and mischievous the last few days and it's taking it's toll on me. Today she took apart a puzzle that was in a frame. I spent a good hour trying to put it back together. Adia knew she was in trouble and just watched me. Despite being a little demon, she also knows how to be totally adorable. She found her beads and ran around the house in only her skirt and beads for the longest time. She soon lost her skirt after she went pee in her potty for like the millionth time today. She even started her day with a lake in her potty.

Adia soon woke Scott up. We had called DiDi and asked her to come get us. She had Tanae. Adia has been asking for Tanae since the last time she saw her. Once Scott walked in the living room, he understood why we wanted to go. We needed a place to cool off. Adia was soon asking for another bath. Scott plopped her on the tub and she was soon asking for bubbles! She was silly in the tub and loved the bubbles.

After she got out of the tub, we headed outside until DiDi arrived. Adia loved being in the grass under the trees and of course had to bring her baby with her. It was a humid 99 degrees outside. I was dying and soaking in sweat the second we walked outside, but Adia was happy. She just loves being outside. We weren't outside very long before DiDi arrived. Adia recognized her car immediate and started yelling, "DiDi!"

Adia was so happy to see her and even more excited when Tanae got out of the car. It was immediate hugs. We grabbed our bags, said goodbye to Scott and left. Adia and the girls were crazy in the backseat. Adia clapped along to "If you're happy and you know it".

When we pulled into DiDi's driveway, Adia said, "Yay!" She knew exactly where she was. We ate dinner. Adia loves Dinty More stew and it's made even better by the fact it's gluten free! They had popsicles for dessert, one of Adia's favorite foods, and then it was three sticky girls in the tub. Adia wanted out first, it was her third bath of the day.

Now it's almost bedtime. I don't know what we'll do tomorrow, but it will be way cooler than it's been. DiDi's taking us home on Monday to much cooler weather in Eugene too. When we arrived in Florence, it was 60 degrees and the fog was rolling in. Talk about a total change.

On a funny note. Adia keeps saying, "Help me. Help you." It cracks me up every time I hear it. It used to be just "Help me."
