On the 26th, we had a second Christmas at Gamma and Gampa G's house. Adia wasn't too interested in actually tearing the paper off, but she did like the bows. We'd stick them to her head and she'd smile. She also managed to sit on one and get it stuck to her butt. It was funny to see her crawl off with it still attached. She really liked her new truck. She can ride on it and walk behind it. She mostly just likes all the sounds it makes. She was happy to play with the trains again too and then took a before dinner nap on Gamma. Gamma and Gampa G also gave her a really neat winter hat. It's too big for right now, but it's really cool looking it. She wasn't too happy to wear it, but enjoyed taking it off.
On the 27th, we went to Coos Bay and Shore Acres. We ate dinner at Sizzler with Gamma and Gampa G, DiDi, Auntie Colie, Unky Eck and Oma. Adia loved being the center of attention, as usual. It was pouring rain and very windy at Shore Acres, but we layered Adia and then used the Kozy, wrapping a blanket around the two of us. I think she liked the rain and wind better than the lights. We stopped by the gift shop and Adia picked out a stuffed red squirrel that chatters.
Scott went back to Eugene on the 28th and Adia and I stayed a little longer. We did some shopping and Adia did a lot of playing. Every morning she'd head for DiDi's closet to play with the shoe laces. She already has a thing for shoes. She was still really cranky though and DiDi took her a few times in the middle of the night so I could get some sleep. She had fun in her baths every night and even learned to "TaDa!" She'll put both her hands above her head and make a noise that sounds like "tada!" She always does it with a huge grin too and waits for you to respond. It's the cutest thing ever and I wanted to get it on film, but of course she wouldn't do it then. I did get an adorable picture of it though.
DiDi drove us back on the 31st. Adia was having a particularly cranky morning and starting crying in the car. Eventually she went to sleep and she woke up happy. DiDi dropped us off and Adia was happy to be home. She went crazy over the toys she got for Christmas. She hadn't seen them in a week so they must have seemed brand new. She started to get cranky again so I cuddled her and she took a two hour nap. I was very lucky to be in a comfortable position when she fell asleep.
Adia was very happy to see Scott. She nearly jumped out of my arms to get to him. She couldn't stop smiling at him and giving him plenty of hugs and kisses. We headed out to run a few errands and Adia got cranky again. She was always happy to get out of the car, but couldn't decide who she wanted to hold her. We then attempted going out to dinner. It started out all right. She survived the 30 minute wait (most of it sitting on my shoulders), but started screaming the second I got my salad. It was horrible. She only wanted me to hold her so eventually I obliged. She didn't want to eat either until she realized I was trying to give her sweet potato. She really liked that, but it didn't last. She cried and screamed the whole way home.
Scott gave her a bath when we got home and she was in heaven. She splashed and splashed and had tons of fun with Scott. She soon started screaming though. She screamed through Scott dressing her and was only happy when I picked her up again. After the Tylenol kicked in, she seemed in much better spirits. Scott, Adia and I played on the floor for a long time before she started to act sleepy. After a little fighting, I managed to get her to sleep and in her crib. She didn't last long though. She started screaming 30 minutes later. After fighting to get her back to sleep, I left her to cry it out in her crib. I felt horrible leaving her like that, but my patience was running thin. She was fast asleep withing 10 minutes though and slept until a little after 5am. Then I brought her to bed with me and she slept until 9:30. She's been a pill off and on today, but the Tylenol I just gave her seemed to help. She's actually taking a nap.
