February

Daddy participated in the Polar Plunge in February. He raised more money than last year, but he was also the only person on his team. He's hoping he can get more people next year. It has been freezing cold and wet for the weeks before the plunge so it was nice on the actual morning that it wasn't below freezing and there was some sun. It was still incredibly cold, but it could have been much worse.

Mira got hit with something and she spent a few days randomly falling asleep. She was super cranky too. Her weird breathing kept her awake at night. It was awful. She still has a cough, but she doesn't seem to be gasping for breath anymore.

Adia's been loving school, but I don't think she's really being challenged in math. Her teacher has been giving her "challenge sheets" for homework, but they're still pretty lame. She flies through them in 5 minutes along with the rest of her homework. She now has a math binder where I give her 2 digit addition. She loves it. DiDi also brought over a 1st grade math workbook. I'm already seeing her get annoyed with the cut and paste stuff she has to do. I feel bad because I know exactly how she feels. She's still mostly challenged in reading, but she's still at the top of her reading group (which is also the top reading group). She loves to read and gets better everyday. She's much more willing to attempt sounding out words or try spelling them. We are working on her penmanship though. That's her challenge area. Her eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills aren't terrific, but that's also vision related.
