I usually try to paint the girls' nails once a week. Since it was now October, Adia wanted Halloween colors. She picked purple, orange, black, lime green and blood red. I then got the idea to add some extra detail, so she ended up with jack-o-lanterns and Frankenstein stitches. She wanted cats and witches. I'm good, but I'm not sure I'm that good. Maybe the next time we do nails I'll attempt those.
The girls all wore bows in the their hair last week as well. They love watching Matilda and it certainly reminded me of that. I need to buy some other ribbons though.
Adia's school just had McTeacher night and not only did I need to go to take pictures for the yearbook, but Adia was desperate to go. The twins have never been to McDonalds and Adia's only been once, as a baby. We ended up getting a hot fudge sundae for Adia, an ice cream cone for Mira and a fruit and yogurt parfait for Leia. It's pretty sad that we can't even order fries because their fries contain wheat! It was Mira's first soft serve ice cream cone and she love it.
After picking Adia up from school today, we went to Walmart to buy Cinderella on DVD since the girls have been begging to watch it. While walking through the produce section, Adia saw a pie pumpkin. She asked if we could get it and make a pumpkin pie. I haven't attempted making a pumpkin pie from a pumpkin since I was a kid and it didn't end well. I figured, hey, why not. Let's try it. She was so incredibly excited. When we got home, I roasted the pumpkin. She then helped make the pumpkin pie. I think her favorite part was mashing the pumpkin. After dinner, they each had a slice of pumpkin pie. Mira ate most of hers and then said she didn't like it. Adia ate most of hers and said she prefers it with a crust. Leia ate the ice cream and then used the pie like modeling clay. It was everywhere and the plate she handed me had pumpkin pie embossed hand prints. Yep, that's my Leia. It was good and insanely easy to do.
