Adia's last day of preschool was on Wednesday. They had a graduation ceremony, complete with little mortarboard hats for the kids. Adia was so excited and very very serious about the whole thing. Her teacher made a slide show of all the pictures she took through the year. It was great. Mira and Leia kept commenting every time they saw Adia. Then her teachers presented them, one by one, with diplomas. They told a little story about each child, what they'd remember the most (Adia the growling tiger and the classroom Sheriff) and asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up. Adia was little Miss Serious, but she said she wanted to be Cinderella when she grew up. That's news to me, but maybe that means she'll start doing housework and talking to the cat and guinea pig. :)
We were also given little scrapbooks with pictures and About Me info. In there, Adia says she wants to be a scientist when she grows up because "scientists discover bones." I actually think she'd make an awesome scientist. She's definitely inquisitive and always hypothesizing about everything. She also said her hero was Metro Man from Megamind. Umm...ok. There was a potluck afterward and then all the kids ran to play on the playground together. Adia's really going to miss her friends since she's not going to that preschool again next year. She'll be going to one closer to us. It sucks because that preschool was good and she loved it.
After preschool we went to Elmers for lunch. The twins did remarkably well since they were past their nap time. Leia played with DiDi, Mira made faces at Papa and Adia played tic tac toe with Daddy.
Mira fell asleep on the way home, but Leia didn't stay asleep so Adia and Leia headed out back to play. Gramma and Papa gave the girls a water table for graduation/twin birthday. We also bought the girls a sandbox. They're absolutely loving the backyard now. I'm just happy the weather's finally nice enough that they can play out there. Now we just need to fix the gates and fences.
Once Mira woke up, we headed to the park. I'm really not sure why I put them in clean clothes, but oh well. We went swimming after this anyway. I should have brought my camera for that too since the twins haven't been swimming since 6 months. They loved it! Mira even went under and it hardly fazed her. I was shocked. Leia loved the water slide and Adia likes it again. Mira just liked hanging out in the kiddie pool where it's warm and she can walk around.
Yesterday was Daddy's birthday so DiDi took the girls. They were so excited to be going there. They missed her. Can't wait until she's out for the summer.
Next adventure: My Graduation. Yep, I graduate tomorrow with a Bachelor of Science in General Science. It's only 9 years, a marriage, 3 kids, a house and a cat later. Wonder how the girls will act. I really hope I get some good pictures of all of us, but Daddy has to work. At least they're letting him be nearby my graduation so he'll see me.
