First Haircut

I cut Mira's hair today. It's been something I've been working up to because she had such gorgeous curls, but it was time. Her hair had gotten so long that it was getting in her food and becoming a huge snarl in the back. Her bangs were also in her eyes. Sadly, I ended up cutting off more than I wanted to because she wouldn't hold still. I had one side the length I wanted and when I went to cut the other, she moved, making me cut it much shorter than I intended. It's still not straight, but she was done.

I trimmed Leia's bangs too, but it's not very noticeable. They're just no longer poking her in the eyes. Now they're both watching Dora and I need to jump in the shower.

I think she might forgive me. She really didn't like getting her haircut. She cried with the first snip.

The girls went to Rhody Days last weekend. I don't have any pictures of the carnival (Hey Papa?!) because I was stuck on an all day bio field instead. At least I hope I'll never have to do it again after this term. From what Adia said, she had a blast. All 3 girls went on the merry-go-round, Adia went on the airplanes by herself and then DiDi and Adia went on the ferris wheel.

I was mobbed when I walked in the door at Gramma and Papa's house. The next day we headed to the parade. The twins were surprisingly good. Leia loved the bands. Mira enjoyed waving and blowing kisses at everyone while holding on tight to her flag. Adia was only there for the candy. Leia had a lollypop in the beginning that lasted throughout the entire parade. The other two ate way too much candy.

We did discover that Leia seems to have a sun allergy (just like her Mama, but I've outgrown it). We first thought she was reacting to the sunscreen. Papa put sunscreen on Leia when they went to the park and she broke out in a rash. We figured she couldn't use that type of sunscreen. At the parade, we tried the other kind. This time the rash only appeared on the side that had sun shining on it. Poor kiddo. She looked awful and miserable. If she'd keep a hat on, it would help.

We've been working on the backyard. The pond is complaetely gone and filled it. We're brainstorming ideas to turn it into a sandbox, but to keep cats out of it.

I don't have any pictures from Mother's day because I was horribly sick. Fever, body aches, puking. It was awful.

I do have some cute pictures from the rest of the week though.

Every time the girls are in the tub, Tiger has to be in there too. Normally he just hangs out on the edge of the tub. He likes to drink the water. I'm waiting for the time he actually falls in.
