Adia had a play date on Friday. It had been several months since we saw my friend and her son. When we got there, Adia freaked out and didn't want to go in the door. I had to pick her up to get her inside. Once she saw there were toys and another kid, she started to relax. She also really liked the dog. She played with Chelsea and chased the dog. She even shared a snack with her new friend. When it was time to leave, Adia threw a fit. She did NOT want to leave. She gave Chelsea a big hug and a couple kisses before we got in the car. When we got home she kept saying, "Chelsea?" I think she's made a new friend and we're hoping to make it a weekly thing.

We hung around the house the rest of the day. I made gluten free oatmeal cookies and they were delicious. They actually tasted just like regular oatmeal cookies and didn't disintegrate. They were a big hit with Adia and Scott. I plan on making more in the very near future. Since Daddy got up late, we had to wait until after dinner to return the movies at Blockbuster. Adia was all ready to go and bundled up warm. It's been incredibly cold at night, below freezing last night. Adia wasn't so happy to be in the car, but ran around like a maniac in the store. She likes to hold the movie once we've picked on. It's a disaster to go down the kid aisle though. She recognizes all the cartoons.

We came home and Adia soon went to bed. She was a tired girl. Her first words when she woke up were, "DiDi soon?" I had been telling her all week that DiDi would visit on Saturday. She knew when DiDi got here before I did. She yelled DiDi while running for the door. Her face lit up when I opened the door and DiDi was standing there. We then went on a wild goose chase looking for Pampers Easy Ups and Huggies Extra Sensitive Wipes. We went to Target first because I'd seen the giant boxes of Easy Ups there before. They were sold out! They did have the wipes, but we didn't buy them because we thought we could get both at Walmart. We were wrong. Walmart didn't even have the Easy Ups and they were sold out of the wipes! They were also sold out of the socks we were looking for. Our last stop was Fred Meyer. They too were sold out of the wipes and they didn't have the big box of Easy Ups. I bought what they did have because we needed more Easy Ups. I'll have to keep checking for wipes though.

We had lunch when we got back to the house and then I had to leave for a party. I left Adia with DiDi and she was perfectly happy. I came home to a sleeping Adia. I felt bad that I had to wake her for dinner, but it was almost 7 already. Adia's still happy to have her DiDi and she's still up. Her nap was so late that I doubt she'll go to bed earlier than 10 or 10:30.

It was just another lazy day around our house. I'm still sick and it was freezing cold out. I actually had to turn on the heat this morning. That was funny because Adia would go up to the heaters and say, "On! Hot!" and then blow like she does when her food's hot. Later, when the heaters were back off, she got mad at me that they weren't on.

We started our day with a bubble bath. I washed her hair and we played with bubbles. Adia absolutely loves bubbles. I was able to sneak out of the tub while Adia continued to play.

Adia desperately wanted to go outside, so I decided it would be a good chance to take some pics before it started raining all the time. I bundled her up in her new sweater, that I absolutely love. We headed out the door and Adia immediately started yelling, "pumpkin!" when she saw the pumpkins on the porch. She wouldn't let us go down the stairs without one. We played around and took pictures. She wouldn't cooperate though and then the wind picked up. Her nose started running like crazy and it was obvious she was cold too. She only wanted me to pick her up and hold her so we went back inside. I'm glad I got a few cute pictures though.

We came inside and Adia kept saying, "Want some" over and over again. I had no idea what she wanted and she wasn't telling me. Eventually she started saying "pop pop pop" so we made some popcorn. That seemed to do the trick. She as happy for a little while before we ate lunch.

Adia started throwing one tantrum after another after lunch. It was horrible. Everything turned into a fight with screaming and throwing things. That's when I knew a nap was definitely going to happen in the near future, even if Adia didn't want one. I fought her for half a hour, but we both ended up falling asleep. She cried that whole time and her nose was running like a faucet, which would then annoy her horribly. She would start saying, "Nose, nose, nose," until I wiped it and then the crying would start all over again. I was glad when we both got naps. I was wiped out. I managed to set her down when I woke up and Daddy soon woke up too. We played video games until Adia woke up again.

I had to use my new mixer today so I made some Jello No Bake Cheesecake. I know Adia can eat the filling so I knew we could share. The first time we had it, she wasn't a fan, but she loved it this time. After licking the whisk clean, she kept pointing at it and saying, "More please?"

After dinner Adia was a cranky, tantruming wild child. It was awful and it took me over 90 minutes to finally get her to sleep. I did get lots of hugs and kisses out of her though. She's always trying new ways to get out of bedtime.

19 months

Wow, we're already at 19 months. I can't believe it. I also can't believe how Adia learns new words everyday. She now says "Pumpkin" each time she sees the pumpkins on the porch. When she finally decided she was going to fall asleep tonight, she rolled over and said, "Nigh Night. Loves you." That was followed by a hug and kiss before snuggling up with her baby and falling asleep. Toddlers really are sponges. She says "Please" and "Thank you" with very little prodding. Sometimes she gets them backwards, but it's more than sweet. I think she knows we can't say no when she says, "Pwease."

On Monday we went to the mall so Adia could play. It was cold and wet when we left, but we came out to a hot, sunny day. Adia played in the play area, but left after a little boy pushed Adia down the slide for the second time. I'm so sick of parents who don't parent their children. He was definitely old enough to know better. Adia doesn't even push kids down the slide if they're not sliding. She also won't slide if there's another kid at the bottom of the slide. When we tried to walk by Orange Julius, she ran up to the counter yelling, "Want some please!" Scott and I both got drinks and she shared with us. We visited the puppies and then Adia wanted to ride in the ice cream truck and train. We've never let her ride them before so we thought it would be a special treat. She loved the ice cream truck. She rode it twice, but the train seemed to scare her. She even bumped her head while on it.

Every time we try to pass the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Adia has to hug their bear. She also wants to go in and ask for the M&M covered caramel apple. Scott's planning to get one for my birthday so she can finally try one. I did end up buying some M&M bark to share with Adia. She seemed to like it. We got back in the car and drove to the store. Adia fell asleep in the car so I used the Kozy again. That thing's getting a lot of use lately. She slept through the store and woke up when I tried to put her back in her car seat. She woke up very happy though. She was all smiles and squeals. I love it when she's like that.

Gamma arrived later that evening. She let Adia search through her purse and Adia found some "bunny money." Scott had a bunny bank that his Opa made him as a kid. He filled it with enough money to buy his Nintendo. When we had Adia, Gamma and Gampa passed it down to Adia. She now loves to find change and put it in the bunny. She even calls it bunny money. We went to dinner after she had begged all our change off of us. She was really good at dinner and only freaked out as I was finishing my meal.

On Tuesday, Daddy had some errands to run. I was starting to feel sick and tired so he had planned to take Adia to go birthday shopping with me. When he tried to leave the house, Adia completely freaked out. She wasn't going to let me stay home. I went with them and Adia went with Daddy to find my present while I browsed Old Navy. After I had been in Old Navy for awhile, I looked out front to see Daddy and Adia pushing a cart back towards Bed, Bath and Beyond. Adia looked adorable. She was happy to see me again when we met back up. Daddy let me know that Adia picked my present and that she also wanted a set of cutlery and some spoons. My present was pretty large and heavy so Daddy decided to give it to me early. It was a pink Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer! I've been wanting one for as long as I can remember. Adia liked the box.

I started to make dinner and Adia and Daddy helped shuck corn. Adia would peel off a piece and throw it on the newspaper. She really enjoyed helping and was sad when they had to stop at three ears of corn. She wanted to do more. She even ended up eating a few kernels of corn when it was dinnertime. She also ate the chicken and cheesey bread I made her.

I woke up feeling pretty sick around 12:30 last night. I had accidentally fallen asleep with Adia around 9. I couldn't go back to sleep since my head felt like it was going to explode. I took some Motrin and sat up with Daddy for a little over a hour. I finally went to bed at almost 2am, but the whole time I thought I was going to barf. Adia was of course up bright and early at 7:30. I didn't want to budge. My sinuses hurt, but I least my head didn't hurt as bad anymore. We had a lazy morning and around 11 headed to the store to buy some gluten free flours. I was determined to use my new mixer to make Adia some gluten free chocolate chip cookies. I couldn't believe how easy it was to make cookies using the mixer. Adia was scared of the noise, but thought it was interesting to see me making cookies. They were definitely Adia approved cookies. She seemed to really enjoy them. For a first attempt, they were pretty good. They were really flat and crunch and the centers were gooey. I think they had too much butter in them, but there's always next time. At least they taste good.

Daddy woke up early today. Adia was thrilled to have him. Together we got Adia to take a nap. She was obviously very tired and kept having bad tantrums. When she woke up, she was more herself. She helped shuck corn again for dinner and then waited for everything to be ready with Daddy. It's started to cool off here so they snuggled together.

We had meatloaf for dinner and Adia actually ate some, using a fork. She wasn't too into the corn though. Then it was bath time followed by a bunch of tantrums. It was obvious that she needed bedtime. It took forever to get her to sleep though.
