Potty training's going excellently (is that a word?). Adia keeps going peepee in the potty and has started to prefer her potty chair. She likes to see what she's done and it's harder to see that in the toilet. She's hardly wet anymore and I got her to pee this morning when she first woke up. She just needs to remember to go, that's been out only problem. If I forget to ask, she forgets she can use the potty. She hasn't successfully pooped in it yet either. That seems to scare her. I can tell when she's pooping, most of the time, but she's just not ready for that yet. She was funny when she peed for Scott because she wouldn't stop peeing! Each time he dumped the pee in the toilet, she'd sit down and pee more. She went 5 or 6 times in a row.

It's starting to get really hot here. It's supposed to be around 100 on Friday. Adia and I don't do heat. We're both drenched in sweat today and it's only in the high 80s. One way to cool off is the bathtub though. Adia always sighs in the relief when she gets in after dinner. I've been joining her lately too.

I've started up our walks again today. Adia was excited to get in the stroller. I let her hold my house keys and she never complained about being in the stroller. She did end up falling asleep on the way home though. I picked her up and carried her to her bed. She stayed asleep and let me take a shower and do some dishes before waking up. I was surprised she slept so long, but she did wake up at 7am. Since she napped this morning though, she didn't nap this afternoon. Now I have a cranky baby.

After she woke up, we headed to Costco. We needed to get out of the house and we were running low on Pull Ups and Cereal. Adia fought the cart at first. She's always fighting the cart anymore. She has a full on freak out when I try to put her in it. The only way I got her to sit down was by giving her my sunglasses. They kept her occupied for quite a long time. Then she was sidetracked by a new book.

We ate lunch when we got home. Adia didn't seem too hungry. Since Adia's toys are overflowing, I went through them and packed up all the ones she doesn't play with anymore. I also organized the ones that were left. Little People are all together. Mega Blocks are in another location. Small stuff in another container. Adia was surprised to see some of her toys again. She was especially happy to see Thomas the Tank Engine and several of her Little People. She loves Little People. She also started building with the Mega Blocks. We really need to get her more of them so she can build bigger towers.

While I was cleaning the living room, Adia got into the granola bars in the kitchen. I have very few places to stash things because she climbs so well. She carried a bunch into the living room and I didn't think much of it. When I was coming back from the bedroom, I noticed she was munching on something. She had opened one of the bars and was eating it! I guess Adia's not allergic to tree nuts because they contain pecan, almond and walnut flours. My biggest concern though was the malt in the crisped rice. Malt generally contains gluten because it's made from barley. Sure enough, within 30 minutes, Adia had diarrhea. Luckily, it didn't burn her butt, but she does have a mild diaper rash. It doesn't seem to be bothering her.

We're back in Eugene now. DiDi brought us back yesterday. She left today, with Tanae and Adia was a little confused when she woke up from her nap and couldn't find her. She's doing better than I thought she would though. She's only asked for her a couple times, but has been easily sidetracked.

The mornings at DiDi's house were a little crazy. Adia's been a good eater since we went gluten free. Tanae hasn't been a good eater in almost a year. She'd rather drink milk than eat anything. Once way to get them both to happily eat is to let them eat out of your plate. There's just one problem with that. Two kids, one lap. DiDi handles it well though and even managed to eat too. For the first morning in days, Tanae actually ate more than a couple bites. She likes turkey ham and scrambled eggs. So does Adia.

Saturday was Oma's garage sale. We walked over to check see everyone. I gave the girls an option, "Wagon or strollers?" Adia yelled, "Da wagon!" and Tanae yelled, "Stroller!" We ended up in strollers because once Tanae realized strollers were an option, there was no going back. Luckily, Adia didn't mind. Adia was surprised to see Gamma and Gampa. Gampa quickly stole her and Gamma fed both girls grapes. They both fell asleep on the walk home. Tanae woke up in the transfer and wouldn't go back to sleep, but Adia stayed sleeping in her stroller.

Saturday night we went over to Gamma and Gampa's house. I made beef fajitas for dinner and we finally ate the banana cream pie. Eck was happy to have his pies. Both girls quickly fell in love with Eck. Tanae jumped on his back, but Adia wasn't quite tall enough to climb on. Tanae tried to help her, but just ended up grabbing her by the head. That didn't go over well. Adia and Tanae gave us the hint it was time to leave by all the eye rubbing, yawning and Tanae grabbing shoes. They both gave lots of hugs and kisses to Gamma, Oma and Lani.

Yesterday, we left Adia with DiDi and Tanae so we could go to dinner and a movie. DiDi took them to Walmart and Safeway. They were pretty good except that Adia wouldn't stop pulling Tanae's hair. She's been doing that a lot lately. I think she's jealous of Tanae's hair. They were eating dinner when we got back. Adia said "hi!" and just kept eating, but Tanae jumped in my lap and wouldn't let go. I don't think she expected us to come back. Scott gave them both baths and it was bedtime. It was already pretty late and they were both tired. Adia woke Tanae up bright and early this morning. I felt really bad for Tanae. She doesn't do mornings.

Office Depot had its school supplies on sale so we stopped there. DiDi and I both bought supplies for her class and saved over $20 a piece. The girls were horrible in the store though. They wanted everything. It only got worse when we went to JC Penny. DiDi was trying to find a queen sized comforter that she actually liked. Adia and Tanae kept trying to run off. Then they'd have a horrible fit if you tried to hold onto them.

I'm not sure why we tried to do lunch. They were awful in the restaurant. Tanae wouldn't sit still and kept trying to go under the table. Adia actually ate her cheeseburger and grapes, but Tanae didn't want to eat anything. Afterwards we went to Target and the girls were ok. We had them both in the same cart, Adia in the front and Tanae sitting in the basket. Everything we put IN the basket, Tanae tried to take back out. DiDi did find a cool comforter set though. Both girls fell asleep in the car on the way back. DiDi dropped us off and Adia slept for almost 3 hours. She woke up in the middle of it, screaming so we took a nap together in the bedroom.

When she woke up, it was time to meet my dad. She's never met him before and we were going out to eat. Adia wasn't so sure about him, but didn't start screaming. She also wouldn't sit in her seat or eat anything, but that's pretty typical. They followed us back to the house after dinner and Adia started acting like herself. She was laughing, running around and being silly. She still wouldn't get too close, but she did except the little mug he made her. She actually really likes it. We played outside before they left. She loves the grass. She might see him one more time before he goes back to California, but I doubt it. She probably won't see him again until next year.

Heather's Wedding

Heather's wedding was on Friday. We ran around like crazy in the morning, trying to pick everything up and get things set up. We had Lexi, Tanae and Adia in the backseat. Tanae and Adia were not happy campers, but Lexi fell asleep pretty quick. I jumped out of the car at Freddies to buy flowers and Adia had a fit. She kept yelling Mommy! She was happy when I jumped back in the car, arms more than full of flowers. DiDi left me at Woahink and went to get Gloria and run more errands. Adia soon fell asleep in the car.

When they came back, Adia was happy to see me. I had all the tables covered, the cake was set up and the flowers were almost done. Adia ran off with a rose since she loves smelling flowers. DiDi, Gloria and I changed Lexi and Tanae into matching clothes and I did Tanae's hair. Heather was a hour late, but Tanae and Lexi had fun running around to everyone they knew. Adia stayed close to DiDi or me. She never goes very far when there are unfamiliar people. I guess it's a good thing.

When Heather finally arrived, Micayla got dressed and the ceremony started. I started with Adia and Lexi, but that didn't last. I couldn't hold both of them, the rings and a bouquet so Gloria took Adia to DiDi. The girls were crazy during the ceremony. I had a horrible time holding on to them. I lost Lexi and ended up with Tanae which made Adia come running back to me. Then Tanae ran up and jumped in Heather's arms. It was like musical chairs with children. The girls were more than ready when the ceremony finally ended.

I didn't get many pictures of the girls because I was busy chasing children and the cutting cake. I hardly had a moment to sit down the whole time. When almost everyone had left, Adia pointed up to heather and said, "Header! Up!" Heather gladly picked her up. It's taken a long time for Adia to finally warm up to her. Heather was especially touched that Adia said her name. Of all days of Adia to say it, she picked the right one.

We finished cleaning up and Adia stole my water. She can open bottles now and loves drinking out of water bottles.

We were all exhausted when the day was over. We took Adia and Tanae back to DiDi's house and plopped them in the tub. They were both pretty dirty. They went to bed early after a tickle fight between them and lots of bouncing on the bed.

Congrats Heather and Ronnie!
