Adia slept 9 straight hours in her crib last night. She woke up at 6 and Scott managed to get her back to sleep for a little bit. That meant I got to sleep in too. When I got up, Adia was playing on the floor. She was happy to see me and even happier when I shared some of my crockpot applesauce with her. She kept tapping my arm to get another bite. After awhile she started to get fussy so I gave her a bottle and she fell asleep in my arms. Scott took his shower and after Adia woke back up, I showered.

It was then off to do some errands. The first stop was for Scott. Adia and I stayed in the car, but she was not happy to be in the car seat. She started to get even fussier as we headed to get lunch. I made her a bottle which she eagerly grabbed. She quickly went into a milk coma and was half asleep by the time we reached out destination. Scott carefully got her out of the car, but she didn't want to stop eating. When we got into the restaurant she became totally sidetracked with the surroundings. We tried the high chair, but she didn't last too long in it. Scott held her while I ate and then he set her back in the high chair. She was fine the second time around. She kept trying to eat the table after dropping all her toys on the ground.

After lunch we headed home. Adia played some more before getting super cranky. She drank 4oz and fell asleep in my lap for over a hour. By then it was getting late, but I couldn't start dinner while holding her. When she woke up, Scott took her and they played on the floor together. She started to get fussy for dinner so I mixed some crockpot applesauce with some leftover sweet potatoes and cut up some banana. Scott fed her. She was really interested in the banana and puff, but kept making odd faces after bites of the applesauce mixture. I think it was too sour for her even though she liked it this morning. When she started to get fussy again we handed her a biter biscuit. Those are always good at distracting her. We were then able to eat dinner, but she made a huge mess. When she started to get tired of the biscuit, I plopped her sippy cup in front of her. Her eyes lit up and she started playing with it. It didn't take too many tries before she actually got the spout in her mouth and took a drink. That's a first for her. I couldn't believe it!

I took a bath with her again tonight. Adia was happy about that. She leaned against me while I washed her face and hair. When I stood her up to wash the rest of her she started grabbing turtles off the side. She soon had them all in the tub with us. Her hands didn't used to be big enough to grab them, but they certainly are now. Every time she looked up and saw Scott, she'd smile. Eventually she wanted out and Scott dried and dressed her. I was waiting on the couch with a bottle. Adia took it at first, but then started arching her back and trying to get down. Scott took her from me and set her on the floor to play. That didn't last long. She soon got fussy so I took her back. She then drank most of the bottle and fell mostly asleep. She didn't wake up when I took the bottle out of her mouth so Scott chanced trying to lay her in the crib. He successfully laid her down and turned on her lullaby cd. Maybe we'll have another good night.

Back Home

We spent one last night at DiDi's last night and Adia slept fairly well again. When she woke up at 7:30, DiDi had to hand Adia off to me since she had to get ready to go to work. Adia guzzled the bottle and then wanted to play with us. We took her out to the living room and she played with the toys on the floor, especially the big bucket. When she started to get fussy again, Scott fed her some more and she fell asleep. I took my shower and when I got out, she was still sleeping. I took that time to eat breakfast.

When Adia woke up she was a little disoriented, but happy. Scott went to take his shower and I thought I'd try changing Adia into clothes. I had her pjs halfway off and her new onesie on when I noticed an odd smell. I looked down and noticed poop squirting out of the top of her diaper. I didn't get it on the clean onesie, but it was definitely on the pjs AND my pants. I carefully took her into the bathroom to clean her up, but still got it on the towel. It was tough to clean up, but eventually I succeeded. Adia actually stayed pretty still for the whole thing. I then had to take off my jeans and scrub them. They were the only "clean" pair I had with me so I didn't have a choice. The rest of the poopy stuff went into the washer. Adia was happy to be clean and dressed. She gladly went back to playing on the floor. The funny part though was she was wearing the cursed footed pjs. Every time she wears them she either pukes all over them or has a massive blowout. It happened again this time too.

We were then ready to head back home. We packed up the car, Scott put Adia in her car seat and I drove home. It was my first time driving in a little over two weeks. I haven't been able to since I broke my arm. Driving was fine except for when we got home. I had the hardest time pulling into our parking spot because my right arm does NOT bend that direction right now. Adia slept most of the way home and only woke up for the long road construction delays. She thinks that if the car has stopped moving, it must be time to get out.

After unpacking, we headed to the grocery store. Adia was in a pretty good mood and after disinfecting the cart, she rode in it. She was good through part of the shopping, but without the cart cover, the seat is a little too big for her. I had to hold onto her hands in order to stop her from hitting her head on the back. She didn't last so she ended up being carried. We traded back and forth while we shopped. She was not happy to be back in the car seat afterwards, but did like the short stop at Blockbuster.

When we got home, Adia started acting cranky again. Scott gave her a bottle while I put the groceries away and she fell back asleep. She slept for about a hour. When she woke up we were watching Meet the Robinsons. Kids really do like cartoons. Scott set her in the middle of all her toys and she played while watching the movie. She started swaying to the music and even laughing at one point. Out of the blue she started fussing again and arching her back. She didn't want to sit. She didn't want to be held. I asked Scott if she was wet and maybe wanted a diaper change. He took off her her pants and discovered a thoroughly filled diaper. She really hates to be sitting in her own poo. Once he changed her, she was happy. Then it was bouncing in the jumperoo until dinnertime.

Adia had a first at dinner tonight. I gave her come cut up pieces of banana and sweet potato. She couldn't manage to pick up the banana so I had to help her. It's only the third time she's ever had it and she really seemed to like it. It was funny to see how hard she had to concentrate to mash it with her gums before swallowing. She did really well with it, but she didn't like the sweet potato chunks. She mashed it with her gums, but gagged on it while she tried to swallow it. I guess it was too dry for her. She loved her sippy cup tonight and was really able to get the water out of it. She still can't hold it and tip it enough, but we're getting there.

I decided to take a bath with her tonight. She enjoyed the last time I was in the tub with her so I thought she would again tonight. She totally refused to sit on her own. She wanted to lean back against me or lay on my legs like she used to do as a newborn. For the last 2 months all she's wanted to do was sit, but I guess she really wanted the skin to skin with mommy. I was able to really clean her off though. Then Scott got her out of the tub and dressed her. She seemed really awake so I thought she'd want to play for awhile. Not tonight. She wanted a bottle and bed. I snuggled her on the couch and she finished off 6oz before passing out. She's now been her crib since 9pm. Hopefully we're getting back to normal and she sleeps well tonight.

Adia slept with DiDi and Tanae again last night, but the first part of the night she slept on her own in the pack and play. She woke up whining at 7:30, which of course woke up Tanae and caused her to be cranky. As soon as they saw each other though they were happy. It's funny how they can sleep in the same bed and never know the other is there. The played for little while together on the floor, but soon both of them got cranky. My mom managed to get the both to sleep by rocking them in the rocking chair. She also managed to lay them down for naps. Adia didn't sleep long, but Tanae slept for several hours. By the time Tanae woke back up, Adia was asleep on my lap. It was sad that they never got to play together again before Tanae's mom picked her up. Maybe they'll get a chance next weekend.

Adia woke up just minutes after Tanae left. She looked a little confused because she couldn't find her. Earlier in the day Adia had even been saying, "My baby" and crying. The second she saw Tanae she said, "baby" and smiled. It's funny because Tanae calls Adia, baby. I took my shower and then DiDi, Adia and I left for my mom's dentist appointment. Adia was NOT happy to be in the car, but once she started drinking a bottle, she fell asleep. She slept the whole 30 minute drive and through me taking her out of the car seat. She woke up only after DiDi was in the chair. Adia looked really confused. She's never been there before, but it's where Scott and I used to go for years. The dental hygienist and dentist both thought she looked like a little Scott. Adia refused to smile, but right before we left she stuck her tongue out at the dentist. I think it's one of her forms of smiling.

Adia was mad to be back in her car seat and really hated that the sun was in her eyes. We picked up Scott on the way back and then headed to the store to spend some of the money I won at the casino. Adia wasn't happy to be carried around, but we didn't have her cart cover with her and we do not want her in their carts without them. One of the times Tanae was in one without long pants, she cut her leg wide open. It was awful. I ended up getting Adia 2 sleepers, 2 long sleeved onesies and 2 pairs of shoes. One of the pairs of shoes is really fuzzy and warm. They're a little big, but should stay on her feet a little better than her boots.

DiDi made dinner when we got back and I fed Adia. She made an absolute mess because she was in such a goofy mood. DiDi handed Adia a dish towel and she started putting it over her head. She was smiling and squealing, but not a whole lot of food got in her mouth. She also grabbed her sippy cup off the table. She really seemed like she wanted to feed herself so I handed her a biting biscuit. She went nuts with it. She ended up with carrots and biting biscuit all over her, the table and the bebe pod. When it was time for her bath, Scott was hesitant to pick her up. He held her at an arms length before plopping her in the tub. He scrubbed her off and when I drained the water, there was a ring of orange and tan left from the mess.

She played for a brief while, long enough for us all to serve dinner, before wanting a bottle and some cuddles. We propped her in my arms on the couch and I fed her while I ate. She was out after only drinking an ounce. Soon Scott's parent showed up because we were headed to the casino and going to leave Adia with DiDi. I left Adia in DiDi's arms and she only woke up just before we came home. She quickly went back to sleep after some cuddles from Gamma and DiDi. Then DiDi laid her into the pack and play without her waking up. I hope she sleeps well tonight since DiDi has to work tomorrow and we have to go back home. She seems to be mostly back to her old sleeping habits.
