sleeping on the floor in a sunbeam
She was a very happy baby when she woke up. I picked her up and brought her to the kitchen with me. She sat in my lap while we watched my mom try to find all of her baby food and teething biscuits that were left over from Tanae. Adia was watching intently and since she was still in her pjs, we gave her a teething biscuit. She went nuts with it and made a huge mess. My mom put one of Tanae's old bibs on her, but she still plastered the table, her sleeves, my pants and sweater. She was having a blast with it. Every time she broke off chunks, she'd spit them out into my hand. I would definitely never leave her with one or even turn my back while she was eating it.

When she was done we definitely had to clean her off and change her clothes. She was not happy about getting her face washed. Despite our best efforts, she still has food behind her ear and between some of her fingers. She fought getting dressed too. She hates to wear clothes and I'm sure would be perfectly happy to be naked all the time. That could happen if she'd stop trying to take her diaper off every chance she gets. After she got dressed, we headed back to Eugene. Adia wasn't too happy to be in her car seat, but soon fell asleep. She slept all the way and woke up very confused, but happy.

Our first stop was Walmart. Adia didn't have a coat and only a couple sweaters which aren't nearly warm enough. Adia rode in the cart and was sticking her tongue out at everything. I think she sticks her tongue out more than smiling now. She was particularly interested in the grapes my mom picked up, even though it will be awhile before she can even eat them. We checked out the poor selection of coats and nothing was smaller than 12 months. My mom attempted to try three different coats on Adia, but they were completely the wrong size. None of them had any hope of working since they were so thick and poofy and the arms were at least 6 inches too long. We gave up and thought we'd try Target instead. Target had several cute coats, but once again there was nothing smaller than 12 months. Those coats were huge too and Adia was not cooperating at all. After scouring the other racks, I found a tan corduroy coat that was 9 months. It actually has some hope of fitting and even has a hood. It's definitely a boy's coat, but all the girl coats are too thin and not warm at all. We also found two cute sweater, one red and one striped. They'll be warm too. She also needed some warmer shoes since we can't find warm socks. We had to try 3 different sizes. The 0-6 month uggs were way too small, the 6-12 month ones barely fit and the 12-24 month ones are too big, but she can't kick them off so those were the one's we got. Her size 2 boots are so big they fall right off so I don't know why those uggs worked.

We headed home after Target. Adia started fussing in the car so I made her a bottle. She held it on her own and I was only needed to make sure she tilted it high enough. She was happy to be home and to see all her usual toys. My mom kept smelling something and couldn't figure what it was. Eventually she decided to change Adia's diaper and that's what it was. I have no idea when she pooped, but it was smelly. She started whining after she was cleaned up and didn't stop until she was given another bottle. She needed her before dinner nap.
She tried carrots and beef for dinner, but after just two bites, I knew it was a no go. I don't blame her, I tried it and wouldn't eat it either. She ended up eating sweet potatoes and turkey and pears. She was much happier with those. She just loves her sweet potatoes. I think she may have been a little mad that it wasn't apples and sweet potatoes. She happily played with her sippy cup and for the first time, actually picked up some puffs. She still doesn't have the pincher grasp down and uses a fist instead. She also has no idea that they're supposed to go in her mouth. She took her fluoride like a champ again. She tried sucking it out of the dropper like she was using a straw.

After dinner was her bath again. She had lots of fun playing with my mom, but wanted out before she had even been washed. Adia did notice something new about the bathtub that she's never noticed before. She saw the drain and that's all she wanted. My mom kept sliding her back in the tub and within seconds she was back to the drain. For a baby that's supposedly non-mobile, she can really move. She squirmed all over the place while my mom tried to wash her. She was really happy when she got out and liked playing with Bob. I love how she can just be wearing a towel and not pee all over the counter. She was tough to get her diaper on though.

Once she was dressed, she wasn't interested in eating, only playing. I had her for a little while and then she went back to the floor. She tried crawling away, but didn't get far. My mom pulled one of the cubes out for Adia to play with and she grabbed the Frisbee that was sitting in it. From then on she was in love with the Frisbee. She was chewing on it and smiling. When she rolled onto her back she put the Frisbee over her face. She couldn't figure out how to get it off her face so the fussing started. My mom helped her and Adia immediately wanted to eat.
My mom made Adia a bottle and Adia grabbed it. It's so cute how she can hold it now. She spins it the whole time she's drinking, until she gets tired and then you have to take over for her. She's starting to look sleepy so hopefully she'll go to sleep early tonight.
