Kozy

It was another rough night. Adia was up around 2:30 so I brought her into bed with us. She woke up several times before finally getting up at 8am. I was exhausted since we didn't go to bed until 11:30. She did let me take a short nap while she played on the floor, but she started to get really cranky. When I picked her up I quickly discovered that she had pooped, big time. I cleaned her up and we played for a while. She was being really silly and I even managed to get a laugh or two out of her. By then I wanted to shower, but I knew she'd just scream if I left her in the bouncy seat. I decided to take a bath with her instead. We had fun in her bath. She grabbed all the turtles off the shelf and did some splashing.

She was happy when we got out, but as soon as we left the bathroom, she got cranky again. She was rubbing her eyes like crazy. I made her a bottle and we took a half hour nap. It was nice, but definitely not long enough. We then played some more, but didn't want to sit down. Every time her butt touch the ground, she'd cry. I peeked in her diaper and not only was it soaked, but she was poopy again. I changed her and she gladly went back to playing. We had a blast rolling around and were both laughing. She was in such a great mood, but suddenly it turn sour again. She hadn't had a good nap all day and it was obvious she was tired and cranky. I tried a bottle again and she drank it, soon falling asleep again. She took a very short snap and woke up slightly refreshed. It was then more playtime. If I turned around for even a moment, she'd be rolling away. I've made it where she can't get under the couch though. Instead she rolls towards it and tries to bite my ankles or toes. She can be rather vicious.

It was then time for the jumperoo. She bounced like a maniac. She hasn't been in it all day and was definitely taking advantage of it. She got burned out though just as the UPS delivery arrived. I grabbed her out of it and got the door. It was my Kozy! I've been waiting all month for it. Adia helped me open the package which is their tote bag turned inside out. It's rather inventive. Then we tried it out. Adia was in a bad mood by then and really hard to hold. After a lot of maneuvering, I got the Kozy all tied on. Adia's crying continued until I went into the bathroom to see what it looked like. Adia saw herself and immediately got quiet. She was just staring at herself in awe. I know I'll need to fold it next time because she's too short for her head to go over, but she seemed to like it anyway. I'll have to try a couple of the other holds too. It was super comfortable and certainly didn't feel like I had 15 lbs on the front of me. It also looks really neat.

Once I got her out of it, she started screaming bloody murder again. I checked her diaper and she had gone again. After cleaned her up, I made her a bottle and she finally fell asleep for a good nap. She slept almost a hour and woke up with a huge grin. She was in a pretty good mood until Scott came home. She became fascinated with the laundry basket and was a pro at pulling herself to standing using it. I have to hold it down though since otherwise she can pull it over on herself. After she got over the laundry basket, she went for the couch. She was standing up on it, looking very pleased with herself when her legs suddenly crossed and down she went. She hit her head really hard on the ground. She cried for a moment, but got over it easily. I set her on the floor while I boiled some water for her grits. When I came back, she was almost down the hallway. She gave me a huge grin. Shortly after that Scott came home.

It was then dinnertime. Since Adia's had diarrhea a few times today, I wanted to keep her dinner simple. She had puffs and grits for dinner. She really enjoys both of them and I figured they'd be easy on her tummy. She ate quite a bit of both and had fun drinking out of her sippy cup.

Bath time was even more of a blast. I decided to take another bath with her. I think we ended up with more water on the floor than in the tub by the time we got out. She was splashing with her cups and hands, but soon discovered that feet can make big splashes too. Then she wanted to jump. I'd pick her up and we'd "cannon ball" back into the tub. She soaked Scott and was laughing. She kept looking over at Scott and laughing hysterically. It so so funny. She got mad when we got out. I think she would have stayed in there all night if we let her. Scott got her dried off and while he was trying to put her diaper on, she flipped over and tried to crawl off the counter to me. She got a good grip on the corner and wouldn't let go. Scott had a horrible time trying to flip her back over. He finally did get her dressed though.

Adia acted like she wanted to play when she first came out the living room. Scott tried playing with her since he hadn't played with her all day. She soon started crying and screaming though. He made her a bottle, but she refused to take it. He then moved to the floor, but she continued to complain. I think I'll have to take over shortly so we can get her to sleep. I'm just really tired though. She wore me out today and last night.
