Pumpkin Patch

Scott slept on the floor with Adia last night. He now knows how much she moves at night and he barely got any sleep. I woke up at 8 and we all got ready to go to the pumpkin patch. While I brushed my teeth, Adia was sitting in the bebepod on the counter. She was staring at me, mouth agape, so I pulled out her toothbrush and brushed her two little toothies. She didn't complain and actually held her mouth open for me. It was pouring rain outside, cold and windy. The usual October stormy day, even though last year at the pumpkin patch was hot and sunny. We were a little late leaving, since it's always hard to leave the house with a baby, but Scott's parents, brother and sister were also running late as well as my mom and Tanae.

We arrived at the pumpkin patch first. Then Gamma and Gampa G arrived, followed by my mom and Tanae. Adia's face lit up when she saw Gampa G. She hasn't seen him since he watched her last week and she absolutely loves him. We had to bundle Adia up in her new coat. She really enjoys chewing on the furry hood, but it still wasn't keeping her warm enough. Scott went back to the car and grabbed her stocking cap since the hood wouldn't stay up. The coat's a little big and fits her fairly well, but the hood was made for a 4 year old.

Adia was also excited to see Tanae. Tanae gave her a big hug and lots of smiles, but Adia was very serious. She hadn't had a good nap yet and was obviously tired. Adia and Tanae did enjoy looking at all the animals though. Adia was fascinated by the bunnies and roosters. Both of which even came within inches of her. Tanae kept a farther distance from them.

After carrying her around for a bit and her hands and legs turning to ice, we decided to take off her coat and stick her in the wrap underneath my coat. Adia wasn't too happy at first, but quickly snuggled in and nearly fell asleep. I wrapped a blanket around her feet so we wouldn't lose either of her galoshes and she would stay warmer. We got on the hayride out the patch and Adia was just staring at everybody. She'd get excited every time Tanae looked at her. The patch was full of mud and very slippery. We quickly picked pumpkins, took a few pictures and Tanae tried to sit in the mud. By the time we got back from the patch, our shoes were caked in mud and so were the bottom of our pant legs. We got lucky though because we happened to be outside between torrential rain showers.

We took more pictures when we got back and had to take some on a bin full of pumpkins. I had planned on letting Adia stand by propping herself on a pumpkin in the field, but there was just too much mud for that. She didn't know what to make of the pumpkins and was still acting serious because she was so tired. At least the wrap and being inside my coat kept her toasty. Her hands and feet were hot!

Adia started to get drowsy the second we got back in the car. She grabbed her coat to chew on, but fell asleep within seconds. She slept all the way home and through Scott taking her out of the car seat and laying her in her crib. She slept for about another 45 minutes until Scott went in to check on her. She opened her eyes, but didn't cry. After her nap we all headed to PF Changs for dinner. Adia and Tanae sat in high chairs next to each other. They would talk to each other and Adia watched every move Tanae made. Adia at puffs at the table and drank out of my straw. Tanae also tried to give Adia food. I guess she thinks we don't feed Adia enough. It was cute. Adia started to get fussy so we made her a bottle and passed her to Gamma. She drank most of it, but didn't fall asleep.

After PF Changs, Adia, Scott and I headed for my mom's house. Adia finished the bottle in the car and slowly fell asleep. She slept until about 15 minutes away from my mom's. She gave me a huge smile when she woke up. She actually looked surprised to see me. She was happy to see my mom and Tanae when we got to my mom's house. She also wanted to play. We set her on the floor to play and Tanae came over to play too. At first they played really well together, but then Tanae started stealing toys or handing toys to Adia and taking them back before Adia could even touch them. Adia didn't get upset over it though. She just looked at Tanae with big, curious eyes.

It was soon dinnertime. I placed Adia in the bebepod and set her on my mom's table. She ate a teething biscuit while I scooped out her food. She ate half a container of carrots and half a container of sweet potatoes with apples tonight. Along with most of the teething biscuit. She really likes those things, but makes an absolute mess with them. She had food smeared all over herself and my mom's table. She got mad at me when I tried to clean her off so right into the tub she went. My mom started the bath, but Tanae wanted one too so Scott finished Adia's bath. Tanae got in the tub when Adia was done.

Scott took Adia to the couch and fed her as she fell asleep. She passed out rather quickly. It made sense because she's been rubbing her eyes most of the day. I guess she just had too big of an adventure today. I don't know where she'll be sleeping tonight. She weighs too much of the upper level of the pack and play so she may end up in bed with me.
