Then into the jumperoo while I made Scott his lunch. Within seconds I heard the grunting and straining. I was picturing the explosion and kind of dreading the diaper change. I finished his lunch and picked her up. She didn't particularly smell and there was no stain on the back of her pjs. I took her into the bedroom and opened her diaper. There was hardly anything in there. It was easy to change and I put her in cloth. I used a liner because there has to be more than that today. I put her back in the jumperoo and she started watching Carebears. She looked a little dazed though. I'm thinking she may not have gotten enough sleep last night.
After the jumperoo we tried breakfast. She had a couple bites of pears and yogurt, but she didn't seem very hungry. It was funny when I handed her her spoon though. It had some of the yogurt mixture on it and of course it went straight into her mouth. She gave me a look like I had tricked her horribly. She pulled it out of her mouth, but then put it back in. She kept doing it until she had eaten all the yogurt off. She made a huge mess and tried to fling the yogurt too.
Breakfast was short and she went back to playing. She sat in the bouncy chair while I took my shower. She didn't complain for most of it, but towards the end she started fussing. I looked around the shower curtain and noticed she was chewing on the end of the toy bar. She had completely ripped it off and was mad she couldn't get to the toys. She was even angrier when she dropped the toy bar. I could tell she was tired too. She kept rubbing her eyes. I made her a bottle and tried to get her to sleep. She slept for maybe 45 minutes and was then wide awake. She spent a little time in her crib, playing with her mirror so I could do laundry. Then I tried to keep her entertained with her toys, but she only wanted to be held. I turned on some toddler songs and she just stared at the stereo. She couldn't figure out why she could hear kids without seeing them. She did like it when I made the funny hand motions that went with the songs or we danced. The clapping from "If You're Happy and You Know It" scared her. She's still not a fan of loud noises.

Sitting on Tanae's couch
Shortly thereafter my mom arrived with Tanae. We went downstairs to meet them and Tanae went crazy. She saw us and screamed, "HI! Hi! Hi!" My mom brought her over to us and I thought Tanae was going to hug me. Nope, she only wanted Adia. She gave Adia a huge hug and wouldn't let go. Adia looked confused and a little alarmed at first, but eventually hugged back. We couldn't get her to let go so I ended up holding both of them and carrying them up the stairs. Tanae proceeded to take the living room apart and Adia reached for my mom. When Tanae saw Adia in my mom's lap on the floor, she ran over and hugged Adia again. Then she tried to give Adia kisses and pet her hair. Adia looked alarmed again, but then started smiling at her. Tanae would hand Adia a toy and when Adia started chewing on it, Tanae would take it back and try to put a different one in Adia's mouth. It was funny.

DiDi, Adia and Tanae
After playing for a while, we left to go shopping. Tanae needed some clothes and Adia needed some pants. We went to a secondhand store and Tanae got some cute clothes and a coat. I couldn't find anything for Adia though. It seems that every baby wears the same size as her. We then went to Walmart. Adia got three pairs of sweatpants. They'll be perfect when we walk AND will fit over her cloth dipes. She also got some more sippy cups, that have handles and a couple mesh teethers. The best thing though was her new strawberry shortcake winter hat. It came with matching mittens. I can't wait to torture her with those. She won't know what to think.

Since we had picked up everything we needed, we decided to go eat. We went to Denny's because they have a fun kid's menu that Tanae really likes. Adia sat in my lap and had fun banging on the table. Tanae sat in the high chair and watched Adia intently. Adia started watching Tanae with all her munchies and was reaching for them. She got really mad when Tanae started eating grilled cheese. Adia seems desperate to eat real food, but when you actual give her "solids" she doesn't want them. I did share my cinnamon apples with her though. It's the first time I've seen her open her mouth that wide so many times in a row. They were really sweet, so of course she liked them. When we were done eating, Adia turned towards Tanae and babbled something at her. Tanae smiled and said something back. I think that made Adia's day. She got a huge grin on her face and wouldn't stop smiling.
On the way too pick Scott up from work, both Tanae and Adia fell asleep in their car seats. When we first got in the car, Tanae handed Adia her sweatshirt. I gave Tanae back her sweatshirt, but Tanae handed it back. Adia smiled and then pulled it over herself and fell asleep. Tanae smiled and fell asleep too. After getting back home, Scott took Adia out of the car while in her car seat and my mom headed back home with Tanae. Adia woke up when she got back in the car and smiled at Scott. She was really surprised to see him. You could tell she was still tired so he fed her 6oz and she went back to sleep.

When she woke up, it was dinnertime. I didn't think she was hungry because she had just eaten 6 ounces, but I was wrong. She almost finished an entire jar of sweet potatoes! Once again, she had her own spoon. She would chew on it and when she'd take it out, I'd try to sneak in some food. My little girl likes to sword fight though. She would whack my spoon away with hers, like we were fencing. She is very good at blocking AND flinging sweet potatoes. She easily swallowed her fluoride. Then I cleaned her off and Scott took her into the bathroom.

She played with mirror baby while I prepared the tub. She was great in the tub. She sat and played with her cups for a long time. She'd bang them together while throwing water at me. She only complained when I laid her down to wash her hair. She started crying and only calmed again when she was sitting again. On the way back to sitting she noticed her turtles out of the corner of her eye. She kept trying to reach for them so I grabbed one and handed it to her. She started babbling to it. I told her it was a turtle and she responded with another word. I told her turtle again and she looked at me very sternly and repeated her same word again. She played with the turtles for a few minutes before turning and trying to grab the side of the tub. I pulled her out and put her in her hooded towel. She was happily sitting in my lap while I turtle wrangled and drained the tub. She fussed for a second and when I looked down, I noticed she'd puked a little. I had Scott put her on the counter while I took the towel. She started to fuss a little while being flat again. I sat her up once her diaper was on and she started reaching for Scott. In order to dress her, he started playing peek-a-boo with her. He went out the door and would open it. She smiled every time and would wiggle in anticipation while the door was closed.

peek-a-boo with daddy
After she was dressed, it was the usual bottle and snuggles. I also gave her some teething tablets. She is definitely becoming a drug addict. She sees the teething tablets and she starts to open her mouth. She doesn't even do that half the time with the spoon. She happily took the tablets and then we snuggled on the couch. She was asleep in no time. Lets just hope she stays that way and there's no screaming tonight.
