before and after
When we got back, I jumped in the shower. Adia sat in her bouncy seat and was fairly mellow. She didn't really fuss until I got out of the shower. She still hadn't really eaten anything since getting up. I thought she would have been starving, but she wasn't acting hungry. She just seemed tired. I made her a bottle anyway and snuggled up on the couch with her. She ate a bit, but fell asleep before she finished. I tried to set her down so I could make myself some breakfast, but she woke up screaming. I ended up making food while I was holding her. Then it was time to leave for her appointment.

We got the doctor's office without a moment to spare. Of course that didn't really matter because they're always backed up. We were called back about 20 minutes after we got there. Adia now weighs 14 lbs 12 oz and is 25.1 inches. She's in the 25th percentile for both. I guess she's perfectly proportioned. After the nurse took her measurements and temperature, we were left to wait for the doctor. I put Adia on the table to play with the mirror baby. She loved it. She was all smiles and once she got used to her surroundings, started talking up a storm. When the doctor finally came in, she said she could hear Adia in the hallway. She asked a bunch of questions and looked Adia over, basically telling me that Adia's perfect. She was also amazed that Adia was already 6 months since it hasn't seemed that long.

Adia will now be taking fluoride daily too. It's peach flavored so we'll see how that goes. Adia also had to have shots. Last time she had a bad reaction to the rotavirus oral vaccine. I told the doctor about it and she agreed that Adia shouldn't get the next dose. She ended up getting only two shots. I've never heard her scream like that before and she had tears streaming down her face. It took everything to stop myself from crying too. It seems so cruel, but I know it's better than what could happen without the shots.
It took me awhile to get her to calm back down, but when I put her into her car seat, she smiled. She fussed a bit while we drove home, but then fell asleep. I was smart this time and gave her tylenol before her shots. I think it really helped. We picked up Scott and went to the store afterwards. It was a quick trip and she acted like nothing had happened. When we got home, Scott fed her while I made frog eye salad for his word BBQ. Adia fell asleep on him, but woke up too soon. She was very grumpy. She sat on my lap a bit until she stopped fussing and then grabbed for Scott on the floor. She was soon sitting on the floor, playing with toys. At first she didn't want to sit, but laid there, playing. She was soon acting normally.

We drove Scott to work and she fell asleep in the car seat on the way home. I hate having to wake her up to bring her inside. She did wake up, but was drowsy, so with a little help from a bottle, she fell back asleep. She slept for about a hour, but was really cranky when she woke up. I soon counted back in hours since her last dose of tylenol and realized it had worn off. I gave her some more, but had to wait for it to kick in.

It was then time to meet Scott at work for their BBQ. Adia cried/screamed most of the way there. She smiled and calmed when she saw Scott though. She enjoyed all the people. She kept acting shy, but eventually opened up and was all smiles. I brought her bebe pod with me so I could feed her dinner. That was an adventure. We both ended up covered in oatmeal/sweet potatoes. She was opening her mouth big for the spoon though. I cleaned her up afterwards and she played some more. She was soon rubbing her eyes though and we knew it was time to leave. It was hard to leave Scott at work.
When we got home I got her ready for her bath. She was in it for maybe 5 minutes. She started crying, with tears streaming down her face again. I cuddled her and dressed her as fast as I could. Then it was mommy snuggle time with a bottle. She fell asleep pretty quickly, but hasn't stayed asleep. She's screamed every 15-30 minutes or so. She must be feeling pretty awful. She's hardly eaten anything today too. I would guess only about 15oz. She just hasn't been that interested in the bottle lately.

before laying her down the 1st time
