Another Busy Day

And another LONG night. She was up at 2:30 again, but went back to sleep pretty easily. She woke me again around 4 because she had managed to face plant herself right in the middle of a couple of toys in the corner of her crib. She couldn't move, but wasn't really trying either. I think she was still mostly asleep. I moved her back to center and flipped her over. I also removed the toys. Of course she was babbling 15 minutes later. At least she usually doesn't scream when she wakes up in the night, she just babbles at the top of her lungs. It's cute, but still tiring at 3am. After she woke again at 5, I made her a bottle and brought her into bed with me. Scott moved out to the couch. I managed to get her to go back to sleep, but she was up again at 6:45. I was exhausted and she kept yawning, but she refused to go back to sleep. I took her into the living room and put her in the jumperoo. She was ok for a bit, but didn't last long. That's when Scott woke up. He took her and told me to go back to bed. By then it was 7:30. He managed to get her to sleep for almost another hour and a half, while I slept. I woke to Adia saying, "DaDaDa Daddy!" It was very cute and happy noise to wake up to when you're rested.

We then got ready for the day. I took my shower, then Scott did. We wanted to go for our walk since we missed it the day before. We knew if we didn't do it early enough, we'd never get a chance. We headed out, with Adia kicking her feet in the stroller and grabbing her pant legs. This time I made sure I sunscreened her chunky legs all the way up to the thigh in case she decided she wanted to show some leg. I'm really glad I did because she had most of her legs showing the entire way. She was also wearing a different hat, in hopes it wouldn't fall over her eyes, but still keep any unwanted sun that snuck around the sun shade off of her. Our walk went well. She babbled in the beginning, but slowly died down by the end. We figured she'd fallen asleep, but no. When we looked under the sunshade, she had managed to pull her hat completely off and was happily chewing on it. We're not sure how she was successful since it velcros on! At least she was entirely shaded on the way back. We also managed to shave off 10 minutes off our time. I didn't feel like we were walking any faster, but I guess we were. Maybe it was because it was already so hot and we just wanted to get it over with.

Scott's mom met us on our way back to the house. Adia smiled when she saw her and started kicking her feet. We took a slight breather. Adia sat and played on the floor for a long time, at least half a hour. Periodically she'd look up and watch the sesame street video that was on TV, but then go back to her toys. Adia soon got hungry and took a very short snap. Then we headed to lunch. Adia sat in the high chair, like a big girl and played with her toys most of the time. She would have played longer, but she eventually threw them all on the floor. She didn't care. She quickly decided that the table made an excellent chew toy instead.

Mmm.. tasty tables

After lunch we headed back to Old Navy. I wanted to get Adia another pair of overalls in the larger size. Sadly, they didn't have them, so I got a boy's pair instead. They're 12-18 months so she has a LONG time before they'll really fit. By then she'll be walking! We then stopped to get some ice cream. Adia kept trying to put her hands in it, but she's still got some time before she can really eat it. Her tummy's been having issues so I didn't want to test it. She did get to play in the grass with Scott afterwards though. She loves the feel of grass under her bare feet.

Almost looks like she could run away

We made a quick stop at Borders on our way back to the car and Adia got to pick out a couple books for herself. She normally starts sneezing or fussing when we go into a bookstore, but this time she was just looking at all the bright colors. She loves books though, but really loves the newspaper the best. She enjoys looking at words.

picking one is just soooo tough

After Borders it was Costco. Adia hung out in the Bijorn and eventually fell asleep. She was in desperate need of a nap, but, as usual, was fighting it as best she could. She slept for quite a long time, for her, but woke up when we put her in the car seat. I hate how that always happens. She was happy on the way back though and even happy when we got home. She ate a couple ounces, but then wanted to play some more. She's getting really good at sitting and playing by herself. I think there are times she actually prefers it even. I'm really amazed at how good she's getting at grabbing toys, bringing them toward herself and then sitting back up. It's awesome to watch her progress from falling forward to now steadying herself.

staring at her sleepy daddy

At almost exactly 6, she decided she was finished with playing and wanted her dinner. She started fussing so Scott picked her up and noticed she smelled a little off. Thanks to all the solids she's been eating, she now officially has "real" poop. No more of that yellow, light smelling goo. Now it's the real stuff. Not exactly a pleasant transformation.

She ate 2 tablespoons oatmeal with 2 teaspoons sweet potatoes tonight. I couldn't feed her fast enough. She was opening her mouth huge and taking giant bites. She also got it all over her face, on her tummy, both legs and her arms. Luckily, we've found out that stripping her into a diaper makes clean up much easier. She also kept stealing the spoon and trying to feed herself. She always looks so proud of herself when she does.

After dinner was bath time. She played with the mirror baby for a bit. Chatting up a storm, but was definitely ready for her bath. She played with the cups while I washed all the oatmeal off her. She seemed really tired and sluggish though and shortly after getting in the tub, she wanted out. I think she really wanted some mommy snuggle time. I dressed her while she sat on the counter and looked in the mirror. Then she slowly drank 5oz while we snuggled on the couch. She was in her crib by 8:30 again tonight. She woke up 15 minutes later and I sang and rocked her back to sleep. I still don't know why she woke up. She didn't need to burp.

Once again, I hope she sleeps well tonight. We can always hope. Her tummy's completely full.

Crysi, Adia's going to be a good reader!! And I love that she's officially a member of the "real poop" club! Lucky you, you didn't experience it... YET.

Adia's getting so big. That pic of her standing up makes her look so grown and ready to just take off.
