fever baby

After having a tough time getting her to sleep last night, she slept until 2:30. I think she only woke up because the Tylenol had worn off. She was burning up. I gave her another dose and tried to feed her, but she only ate an ounce before passing back out. She slept until 6:30. I was hoping she'd go back to sleep, but no such luck. She was feeling lots better though. When I went to pick her up, she was playing in her crib, all smiles and coos.

I stuck her in her jumperoo and she started bouncing away. After a bit she started fussing so I went and grabbed her, only to discover and pretty nasty smell. She'd pooped, but it was very much human like poop and didn't escape the diaper this time. It actually wasn't too bad, except for the smell. I dressed her and got ready to head out on our walk. Just as I was about to grab the stroller and leave, Adia started crying. I counted back the hours and realized she needed more Tylenol, but she was also acting tired and hungry. I gave her more Tylenol, fed her and she fell asleep for a hour. Easy to say, we didn't make it on our walk today. I'd go now, but I just don't feel like it.

She woke up happy, which is always nice. We played a little and she started laughing when I laughed. It was awesome. She never does that. Then I set her on the floor to see if she wanted to play with her toys. She did and while she was playing, she gave me the chance to wrap the presents for her cousins. She was perfectly happy playing and talking to herself.

Then it was shower time for me. Adia was NOT happy about that, but it was going to be all of 5 minutes. She complained through the entire thing and started screaming the second I got out. She screamed so loud she woke Scott. He took her and tried to play with her, but she's really in mommy mode today. She started staring right at me and gabbering. I said something back to her and she responded.

After rubbing her eyes and acting tired, I made her a bottle and she slept on Scott for quite awhile. I think Adia must have a love for Doctor Who though. She wasn't too grumpy when she woke up because she was fascinated by the TV. She watched the whole end of Doctor Who quite happily.

Scott took his shower, while I cut Adia's nails. I found an easier way to do it. I just set her in the bebe pod and while she watches herself in the mirror, I clip them. She gets sidetracked by mirror baby or she watches me. It's worked really well so far.

We then went to Walmart to get some pictures printed. Scott took her to electronics to check out all the movies. When they came back, I was done ordering prints. Then we went to Cafe Yumm. Adia was flirting with the customers. She can be so silly. When we got home, she fell asleep in Scott's lap. The only problem was ghe had to head to work soon. We had to wake her up to take him to work. It was sad, but she was all smiles for him.

She was not all smiles for me, however. After we dropped him off, she started saying, "dadada" and then crying. She screamed and cried all the way home. When we got home though, she was fine. She kept trying to squirm out of my grasp so she could get on the floor. I set her on the floor and she started playing. She soon learned that if you hit one of her blocks, it makes funny noises. She started batting at it like crazy, just to hear the sound.

She started getting fussy around 4:45, her usual before dinner catnap. She ate 3 oz and fell asleep for almost a hour. She woke up happy. She was being a goof and wanted to get back on the floor to play. She also likes to watch the news from her vantage point on the floor. My little floor tater tot. At least we'll make sure she gets lots of playtime and exercise when she's older, not to mention lots of healthy foods.

Standing on her own. She'll do anything to get a remote.

We then had dinner. Adia ate ALL her oatmeal sweet potatoes and then some. She then successfully drank water out of a sippy cup. She was opening her mouth huge every time the spoon got near and she actually wasn't trying to grab it. I think she's finally starting to master the solids.

Her bath went well too. She was in there long enough for me to wash her hair and make sure she didn't have any oatmeal stuck in her neck creases. She wasn't really interested in playing though. When I got her out, I noticed one of her injection sites was slightly bruised, but other than that, you'd never guess she had shots yesterday. She's not running a fever, but I still gave her Tylenol before her bedtime bottle. She seems to get fevers at night only. She was a little cranky today, but it's mostly because she's very much in mommy mode.

Getting her to sleep was another story. She was completely out at 8 so I laid her in her crib. Less than 5 minutes later, she was awake and crying because she had rolled onto her tummy. When I picked her up, she let out two huge burps. I then spent the next hour trying to get her back to sleep. Rocking and singing didn't work and she didn't want a bottle either. Finally she took a bottle and fell back to sleep.
