It was another do nothing day. We went for our walk after I tried to feed Adia. She wanted nothing to do with eating. It was cold though so I really bundled her up. Uggs, long sleeved onesie, sweater, winter hat, jeans. It didn't matter too much though. When I picked her up afterwards, her face, hands and feet were like ice. Her body and head were warm though so maybe it did make a difference. She fell asleep really fast too. One minute she was babbling at her chicken, the next she was out. She slept for at least 30 minutes and only woke up because mommy got the sniffles. Sniffles, sneezes and coughs always wake her up, especially if they're coming from me.

After I walk I took a shower and she did really well. She was happily playing in her bouncy seat, nearly falling out of it. She drank 4 ounces afterwards, but wouldn't go back to sleep since she'd already had a nap. We played for awhile on the floor. She really likes this little piggie and head, shoulders, knees and toes. She started to get fussy around 11 though. That's when we usually wake Scott up and I think she knew it was time. We went in the bedroom and she was all grins and "dadada"s. He then played with her for awhile, but around noon she got fussy again. She takes her noon daddy nap everyday and is cranky without it. He gave her a bottle and she slept for 45 minutes. Meanwhile I was trying to dediaper the washing machine. I eventually succeeded, but I've decided to switch exclusively to cloth. I've been slacking lately since I hate poop in cloth, but I DO NOT want to risk washing another pamper. That was horrible. I don't think our washing machine will ever be the same.

She was grumpy when she woke up, but slowly became happy again and wanted to play. While she was sitting on the floor, playing with Scott, she let out the biggest fart. (Keep in mind that she was in a cloth dipe) The first thing on my mind was, "But she already went today." Scott lets me know it was a false alarm. It had been a couple hours since I last changed her diaper so I decided to do it anyway. I opened the cover and yep, she's soaked, but there's an odd odor that goes with it. Yep, she'd pooped, and quite a bit. I cleaned her up and then Scott put the new diaper on her while I tried to get the poop to go down the toilet. I was partially successful, but it was nasty. While I was cleaning off her diaper, Scott had brought her back out the living room and she was playing on the floor. As I was going back into the bathroom, I noticed that she had started to play with the velcro on her diaper. Then, in one motion, she had opened a side. Scott revelcroed it, but she did it again. We had to put pants on her to prevent her from taking off her diaper cover. I guess we're going to have to switch to snap covers if she wants to hang out in just a diaper. Of course, now that it's becoming cooler, she may not get to just chill in a diaper very often anymore.

Studying the intricacies of the diaper

It was soon time to take Scott to work. She was partially asleep in my lap while eating. We felt horrible waking her to leave, but Scott has no other way to get to work since his bike got a flat. Once in the car, she wouldn't take the bottle, but wanted to play instead. The second Scott got out of the car, she started crying. She cried and whimpered all the way home. It's a fairly short drive, but it seems so long when she screams. The second we turned on our street, she got quiet. When I opened the backdoor, she was asleep. I felt horrible again waking her, but it was the only way to get her in the house. I got lucky though and with another bottle, she fell asleep for another hour and a half. She woke up very cranky though. I think she woke up before she should have, but couldn't get back to sleep.

I changed her diaper, but that didn't helped. I ended up having to carry her around while I made dinner. After I had everything ready, I put her in the high chair and she started crying. She wouldn't stop and definitely wasn't into eating. I was hungry so I attached her toy to the tray. She became preoccupied and stopped screaming. She watched me for a bit so I tried feeding her again. She took a bite of straight sweet potatoes. She ended up finishing them. Then I tried the carrots. She looked surprised after the first bite, but ate all those too. I scooped some more out and she ate those too. Since she hasn't had a problem with the carrots, I thought I'd try bananas. She had one bite and started screaming. Dinner was obviously over.

Her bath was incredibly short. I had enough time to wet her, but no time for soap. At least she's still young enough to get away with that. She smiled at mirror baby, but mostly just wanted her pjs on. Once dressed, I set her on the floor do I could make her a bottle. Instead of crying and acting tired and hungry, she started playing. I let her play until she reached for me. Then she drank 4 ounces and wanted more. I had only made her 4 since she hasn't really been eating much before bed. I made her two more and she drank one more before trying to sit up and wiggle back to the floor. I set her on the floor and she played for almost a hour. She then didn't want to sit on the floor, but didn't want me to hold her either. I took her to her crib, turned on the music and left the room. She was fine for 15 minutes before starting to complain. She didn't cry until she saw me though. She drank another ounce before finally falling asleep, a hour and 15 minutes later than normal. She's in her crib now, but I predict it will be a LONG night.

She is way too smart. So funny that she's taking off the diaper. Haydn has learned that too so we're using mostly snaps if they're not under clothes.

Haha. Little Adia likes to take her diapers off. Lincoln used to do this while in the hospital and then poop in his isolette and you'd open the little portholes and you'd wonder how he hadn't passed out from the smell.
