Just so I don't forget. While I was starting dinner tonight, Adia kept running in and out of the kitchen. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "There's a monster on my back." I laughed and she kept running. On her way out of the kitchen, she tripped and fell.
She fell hard too so to keep her from crying I asked, "Did the monster on your back push you?"
She said, "Uh huh," got back up and off she went. She then pretended to trip a few more times, claiming the monster was pushing her. This kid has a serious imagination. Too bad the monster won't stay on her back and out of the dark though.
Not long after the pushing incident, Adia pooped. She wanted me to change her so I asked her to get a diaper. She said, "No, mommy do it. It dark. Monsters in room."
I took her hand and we went and got the diaper together. She normally says monsters are funny, but she's definitely scared of the dark.
We're also working on Adia's manners. She says please and thank you, but we're working on saying excuse me when she burps, farts or wants someone to move. She's got the moving thing down, but the burping and farting are another story. She'll gladly announce "Adia fart, have gas," or "Adia burp!" but she has to be prompted to say excuse me. I so love how she says it though. She always says, " 'cuse mes." It sounds so sweet in her little tiny voice.
