She also received her present from her Birthday Buddy. That was another excitement. Adia loves guinea pigs and the box contained a large guinea pig puppet and 2 guinea pig books. She looked through the books and hugged the pig. After checking them out, she decided the box was fun to play with. Kids and boxes. It's just too funny.
We had to go to the store to pick up some stuff for her birthday. She was in a surprisingly good mood, but was still tough to catch to put her in the car. She was wearing the coat that was DiDi's as a child. We had fun at the store, but I was super frustrated to not be able to find Adia a Happy Birthday balloon.
When we got back from the store, we ate lunch and then headed outside. It was sunny, but not too cold. Adia ran around like crazy and requested to wear her sunglasses since her dilated eye makes being out doors too bright. She wore them for the longest time and only took them off because they kept sliding down.
She headed directly for the only puddle left. I convinced her not to stomp in it, but it didn't stop her from trying to play in it. I was just waiting for her to lose her balance and fall in.
The weather was nice so Adia asked for chalk. We went back inside and grabbed the box. Adia ended up technicolored, but I think she had lots of fun, despite not wanting to take pictures with mommy. Her biggest excitement was when she looked up and saw the moon. She yelled, "I see the moon!" She thinks it so cool when the moon is out during the day.
There were some other children out and about at the play equipment so Adia wanted to head over there. She went down the small slide a few times before wanting to go on the big one. She started flirting with the other mom because the other mom called her cute. Adia knows how to work it.
Adia threw a HUGE tantrum when I tried to get her inside. We had been out for over 2 hours and it was more than time to head inside. I carried her kicking and screaming inside where her tantrum didn't stop. It was horrible. She eventually calmed down, but she mostly just needed a nap.
DiDi arrived a few hours later and let Adia open one of her presents. Adia was super excited once she got the card open and found stickers. It took a lot of coaxing to get her to open the present. DiDi bought her a pair of super cute sandals that matched the dress she was wearing perfectly. Adia instantly wanted them on her feet. She wore them to Red Robin that night and all day the next day.
Adia had been talking about getting her burger at Red Robin all day. It was super busy when we got there, but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. We kept her sidetracked by feeding her ice until her food arrived. She gobbled down her burger and wanted to leave, but we had to convince her that her ice cream was coming. They sang happy birthday to her and Adia seemed shocked and a bit shy. She mostly just wanted the cherry.
When we got home, I let Adia open her presents from her Aunt, Uncle and cousins. She immediately loved them, but as especially excited about the weird red tube thing. She had no idea what it was, but it looked like fun. It was a kazoo! Once I taught her how to use it, she wouldn't put it down. I asked her if she wanted to take a bath and she kept saying no because she didn't want to leave her knew toys. She even tried to take the kazoo to the bath with her.
She fell asleep pretty easily and woke up at 4:30 to pee. She didn't want to go back to bed with DiDi, but insisted on Mommy laying with her. Once Adia fell back to sleep, DiDi got back in bed with her and I went back to my own bed. She actually slept in on Saturday, which was nice, but we still had lots to do before her party.

I love, love, love her outfit! Super cute! Sounds like she had a great birthday. :)
Looks like a perfect birthday! Adia and Sabrina have many similarities - both with the moon and also the monster thing from a few posts ago. They are growing up too fast! Happy belated birthday Adia!
(You're looking great Crysi - looks like the twins are growing well!)
I put up a facebook badge on my Blogger page so you can find me!
