week before Adia was born (37 weeks)
Now 2 years later, I have one crazy toddler and twin girls on the way. Never would have guessed that.
Despite the fact Adia's hit the terrible twos with a passion, she's been incredibly fun and sweet these last couple days. Adia asked to paint yesterday, so we did. She's getting much better, even if she asks for a bath and to wash her hands if she gets any paint on her skin. I personally like the two handed brush technique.

Gramma made a surprise visit yesterday evening. Adia was super happy to see her. Gramma wanted to take us to dinner so we gave Adia the choice on where to go. I asked her if she wanted steak or tacos. She picked tacos. Worked for me since we had a free kid's meal at El Torito for her birthday. We kept her busy by playing with cars while we waited. When the food arrived, Adia yelled, "Exciting!" and "Plate hot!" She ate a bunch, including some of my chicken.

I think she mostly wanted to go because she knew she'd get ice cream. She was super excited when that showed up. She did really well with the spoon, but she also remembered how I put a spoon on my nose. She put her ice cream covered spoon on her nose and started laughing. Daddy tried to wipe the ice cream away, but his napkin was already dirty so he only smeared ice cream all over her face. It was hilarious.

Adia didn't nap yesterday so she went to bed by 8. The only problem with that was she was up by 6:30 today. That's rough on me. The night before she slept the whole night alone. I was amazed. Last night, she only made it until 1:30. I think she got cold, which is typically the problem. Since she did get up so early, I got a small reprieve when she took a nap this afternoon. That was nice, but short lived.
Adia's created a new incentive to keep the kitchen sink clean and free of dishes. The only way I can cook dinner is if Adia's playing in the sink. It worked really well tonight, except for the fact she was soaked by dinnertime.

She ate almost all her dinner tonight. She obsessed with mustard and it got her to actually eat half a cherry tomato. She dipped the tomato in the mustard and into her mouth it went. She ate some baby carrot slices too along with another tomato half. We're definitely making progress on the veggie front. She also ate her burger, but picked all the cheese off of it first. I guess she no longer likes cheeseburgers. Since she was so good at dinner, she got to have ice cream for dessert. She was a happy camper, but covered in chocolate syrup by the time she was finished.

It's been a fight to get her dressed, but after her bath tonight, Adia dressed herself! She only needed some minor help, making sure she had a leg in each pant leg, pulling up her pants and lining her arms up. She actually pulled the shirt over her head, which amazed me. She's getting so big!
