Outside fun

Yesterday was gorgeous here and the weather's supposed to get better and better. In the early afternoon we went to Walmart. I've been wanting to get a BBQ for awhile now. Adia got some new summer clothes and sandals and I picked up some tomato and herb plants. Scott gave me a herb garden for Valentine's day, but I seem to have killed them. When we got home, Scott was just getting up.

He took a shower and we wandered around outside. Adia wanted to go down the slide. Last time she was on the slide, I let her go on her own. She was perfectly fine, of course, this time was different. Scott asked me if it was safe for him to let go. I told him yes and it was bad. Her clothes must have been slicker and she gained too much speed. Halfway down we knew it was going to end badly and we couldn't move fast enough. She went flying off the end, sideways and landed face first in the dirt. We rushed to her and waited for the screaming, but she just looked at us while we brushed the dirt and wood chips off of her. She never cried, even though she had mud in her mouth and up her nose. She didn't want to slide again though.

After that fiasco we took her over to the swing. Scott swung with her in his lap. She looked really disinterested, but she was probably still dealing with the slide.

Adia was over the playground after the swing and wanted to walk around instead. We started to make a loop before she got sidetracked with the rhododendrons. I plucked her a flower and she slowly took it apart. She looked so sweet with her little flower. We soon turned back and headed back to the house.

It was almost dinnertime and I had to get cooking. Scott cleaned off the deck and started building the BBQ. Adia was fascinated with everything Scott was doing. She was a little mad that she couldn't help though.

Adia ate a big dinner and took her bath before crashing. She was out before 8 again and actually drank quite a bit of milk. She even drank milk at dinner because it was coming out of a straw.

Today Adia spent most of the day with DiDi. Adia was up at 6am, which was tough on me. She ate a pretty good breakfast before demanding a bath. I got her down for a nap at 11, but she only slept a hour. She was still tired when she woke up, but I couldn't get her back to sleep. She was so serious when she saw DiDi. I'm thinking she woke early because she was hungry. She ate a BIG lunch before going back to playing with DiDi. Scott and I then left to go see Mama Mia. DiDi was worried about how Adia would react to my absence. I don't leave her very often and it's been several weeks since the last time. Adia was perfectly fine. They played the entire time. Adia helped with the laundry, the read a tons of books and had a great time. When we came back, Adia gave me a million hugs, but wasn't phased in the slightest. She used to always scream when I came back.

I made dinner, Scott went back to bed and Adia hung out with DiDi some more. Adia had another big dinner, mac and cheese, hamburger, peaches and an attempt at steamed broccoli. I'm hoping that if I give it to her enough, she'll finally eat it. I love broccoli and so does Scott. She then shared a popsicle. I'm really surprised she hasn't had brain freeze yet. She was covered in peach juice when I put her in the tub. She was so sticky and gooey that I had to wash her hair. At least she's good about me tipping her back to rinse out the shampoo. She then got to run naked around the house. She was in such a good mood that I didn't want to hold her still long enough to dress her. I did manage to get a diaper on her before she escaped again. She spent at least a hour running around in just her pj top and diaper.

Adia played with DiDi some more and for the second time today, I heard her tell DiDi, "I love you too." It's so sweet to hear her say it. Around 7:45, she laid down on the floor with her head on a pillow. We got the hint that it was bedtime. Adia fought sleep again tonight, but after 5 minutes of screaming at me, she fell asleep. I hope she sleeps longer than 6am.

Every night she's been waking up around 1 or 2. She doesn't cry. I just hear "mama" and then her climbing out of her bed. Then her little feet on the ground. I love seeing her wobbling in to my bedroom. Her arms opened wide and so happy to be climbing in bed with Mommy. Little does she knows, Mommy loves having her in bed too. Someday soon she'll not want to snuggle like that so I'm trying to get as much snuggle time as possible.
