Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Adia saw her Gamma and met her Great Aunt and Uncle yesterday. They came up for a quick visit. We ate lunch at Olive Garden and Adia hammed it up. She knows exactly how to make everyone fall in love with her. I was worried how she'd act because she totally refused to take a nap. She ate quite a bit of the food I brought with us and mostly made faces at her Great Aunt. We waited outside afterwards because she was tired of sitting still. What you can't see is all the cottonwood fluff in the air. It's everywhere and makes it look like it's snowing. Adia likes it, but I'm hating it.

We then headed over to the mall. Gamma bought me a new dress and Adia some cute new summer clothes. Her Great Aunt bought her a cute summery outfit too. When we got home, Adia made me put the bright yellow shorts on her and her new rainbow colored sandals. I think she approved of them. We made our way towards the next store and a giant stuffed bear caught her eye. She made a break for it. She was laughing and poking him in the tummy. She then grabbed his leg and tried to pull him away. That was certainly never going to happen. In order to get her away from him, I asked if she wanted to see the doggies and kitties. Her head popped up and off she went. She knew exactly where the pet store was. We heard lots of "OOOh! Wow!"s and "meow"s and a couple "Kitty!" She definitely wants a cat and dog. I also showed her the guinea pigs.

We made one last stop for Gamma to look for clothes. They had several sets of three way mirrors and Adia thought it was the coolest thing ever. I think we could have easily stayed there all day. I missed the beginning on video because I was dying laughing, but I did get a couple pictures and a little video. I think I'm raising a little narcissist.

Adia started to act tired and get pretty cranky. She frequently laid her head on the floor and when she tried to make a break for it, she became dead weight when I caught her. Then, while trying to run away from me, she tripped and face planted right into the floor. She ended up with some minor rug burn on her forehead and cheek. Surprisingly, it was already gone this morning.

She fell asleep in the car on the way home. I was able to carry her upstairs and lay her in bed. She didn't sleep too long, but was pretty hungry when she woke up. She stayed up later than normal because she took a nap so late. She can now climb on our couch by herself and that leads to lots of falls. Last night she fell off and landed directly on her head. It made the most sickening crunch. She laid sprawled next to me, eyes wide open and in total shock. She screamed after I carefully picked her up, but it was only a couple screams before she was climbing back up. I then spent the next hour in bed trying to get her to sleep. We finally passed out around 10 and she was up at 6:30. I wasn't so awake though.

Today has been a day of too many nasty diapers. I'm starting to wonder if she has problems with milk too. She seems to go more often after eating lactose. It wouldn't surprise me since it runs in both families. At least it's not a reaction like with wheat. I got her to take a nap. It was almost 2 hours long, but she woke up cranky. She's acted tired all day.

We ate lunch and then I opened the sliding glass door for some air. Adia sat down in front of the screen and stared outside. She giggled every time the breeze hit her, but then really started chattering, giggling and becoming very animated. I had no idea what she saw, but she was happy about it. Then she started crying. That's when there was a knock on the door and it was DiDi. She could see DiDi in the parking lot! Adia was so happy to see her, but started getting suspicious when Scott and I put on shoes. DiDi said she never complained the whole time we were gone (we saw Indiana Jones). They played outside, ate lots of snacks and when we got home, Adia was eating dinner.

The second we opened the door, she yelled "Hi!" She wouldn't let me set her down. Somehow we got her to take a bath and the it was back to bouncing on mommy. She really started to get tired and cranky around 8. We had a small fight before she finally fell asleep. She's really been fighting sleep lately and I wish I knew why. I'm always here when she wakes up.
