Thanksgiving!

Adia's had a fun couple of days. She's spent lots of time playing with her Daddy, Unky, Auntie and Grandparents. She's also been really sick. The snot is still running down her face and her cough is horrible, but her fever has finally left us. She's been sleeping surprisingly well with such a bad cough. She's able to cough in her sleep most of the time, but in the mornings it will wake her up. Luckily she's had plenty of people to sleep on.

We spent Thanksgiving at Scott's parents' house. While I made dinner, she went from person to person, getting in lots of playtime and cuddles. She wasn't feeling well and there were times when only Mommy would do. She's see me, start crying feebly and reach with her whole body. It was so sad to watch, but I'd snugggle her for a few mintues and everything would be fine again. Then it was back to playing. She spent the longest time just sitting in Auntie Colie's lap. She was perfectly happy playing with toys, eating a book and occasionally smacking the laptop. She also had a good view of the kitchen and Mommy. I think that helped a bit.

When it was time to eat, Adia started to get cranky and tired. It was definitely time for a nap. I made the mistake of trying to get her to eat though. I put some mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and turkey on her tray. She popped the mashed potatoes in her mouth and quickly spit them back out. She was not happy. The only thing she did like was the cranberry sauce I made. She couldn't get enough of it and I couldn't feed it to her fast enough. She didn't put up with me eating for long though and she started crying. She ended up taking a before bath nap with Scott.

We then spent lots of time playing. I got to be the mamarazzi while she practiced crawling and pulling herself up. Then she'd take steps while holding Auntie, Unky or Daddy's hands. She had a blast, but a little after 6, she started to get cranky again. I gave her a bath and it was a total disaster. She cried through it and had a horrible time sitting up in the bathtub. She kept sliding. Once again, only Mommy would do. I wrapped her up in a towel and snuggled her. She stopped crying, but the second I tried to lay her down to put her diaper and pjs on, it was crying again. Once she was dressed, she was happier again. For the next 2 hours, she crawled everywhere and explored the entire house. She was in a terrific mood. When it was time to sleep, she started to get a little cranky. Gamma took her and soon she was fast asleep. She was then able to lay her in bed.

Adia slept through the night pretty well. She only woke up once, but was awake for the day at 6am. Scott got up with her and Gamma managed to get her to go back to sleep. I slept in until 9 and Adia got excited to see me. We all played for the longest time. She met Auntie Colie's cat and was mostly gentle. Gamma took the cat away when Adia tried to grab that cat's ears. When Adia crawled over to the window later, she said "Hi Kitty!" and got very mad when the kitty did not appear. She is totally in love with the cat. Around 11, Adia passed out again, but this time on my chest. She napped for over 2 hours and woke up congested, but happy. In order to clear her lungs, I thought I'd take a shower with her. She loved it and even let me wash her hair. She was in a wonderful mood.

Since we were on the coast, Scott wanted some seafood. We loaded everyone up and went to his first choice. It was closed so we went to his second choice. It was packed, but Adia didn't mind the wait. She had plenty to look at. She ate crackers at the table and when she got bored with that, she looked out the window. The second she looked out the window she said, "Kitty?" Now, everytime she looks out a window, she'll expect a cat. It was really sweet.

After out late lunch, I wanted to get a picture of Scott, Adia and me. We went outside, where it was freezing! We actually got an awesome picture that will be perfect for our Christmas card. Then we took pictures of the group, which were fairly good, but it's so hard to get everyone smiling at the same time. Then we walked Old Town and went to the toy store. Adia picked out an Ugly Doll that looks like a cat (Anyone think she has kitties on the brain?). The owner, who I was friends with in high school, gave it to her as a gift. We made one last stop before Adia, DiDi and I headed out. We made a couple stops before going back to DiDi's, but Adia didn't mind. She loves to shop.

When we got back to DiDi's house, Adia was excited. She crawled all over, checking to make sure all the toys were here. Then she started to get fussy because it was after her dinnertime. She ate an entire yogurt and wanted more to eat, until she choked on a cheerio. She choked so bad that she stopped breathing. I'm sure it didn't help that she's congested anyway. I had to to the finger swipe to get it out and when I did that, I gagged her. She ended up puking up some of her dinner and crying hysterically. Dinner was definitely over. Before that happened she had been in a funny mood. I feed her yogurt and she'd blow raspberries. I couldn't feed her fast enough either. If I slowed at all, she'd get mad. She was moving her entire body to reach the spoon with her mouth.

Bathtime was fun. I took a bath with her and it lasted forever. We had to get out because the water turned cold. She was in no mood to sleep though. She wandered around the living room, but eventually settled down. I fed her 4oz, but then she bounced back up. My mom got her to go to sleep a little after 11.
