We headed back to DiDi's on Saturday so we could attend my friend's daughter's 1st birthday. Adia slept most of the way and so did Tanae. We made a quick stop at Freddie's to grab a present for the birthday girl. Adia tried out the Kozy again. I didn't have it folded enough and she could barely see over the top. Somedays it just doesn't get on right. Tanae kept grabbing Adia's hand or trying to hug her. When we got back to DiDi's we fed both kids and then got ready for the party. We were a little worried that Tanae would take apart the house, but for once in her life she was actually shy. Adia was the livewire instead. She started squealing and babbing. She really liked watching the other kids.
When we got back, we tried to get both babies to take naps. That never seems to work. Tanae completely refused, even though she was exhausted, but Adia did fall asleep. She woke up happy. By then it was dinnertime. Adia sat on my lap while she ate. She had fruit cheerios for the first time and LOVED them. Next time we got to the store we're going to have to buy some. She also almost ate an entire yobaby. That was a surprise, but she just kept opening her mouth for more. Then it was bathtime. She didn't last too long in the tub, but she still had fun.
I thought she'd go to sleep quickly, but that didn't happen either. Instead she wanted to play with Tanae. They did play for quite awhile and we were both terrified that Tanae was either going to fall and hurt herself or land on Adia. Well, she did fall and reopened her wound from last week. She was a very unhappy camper. After DiDi washed her up and gave her Tylenol, I shared some ice cream with her and she was back to her silly goofy self. Adia was still wanting to play. She managed to crawl/inchworm to the coffee table and pull herself up. She did it all by herself and boy did she look proud. She had the biggest grin and then surprised us all by taking a few steps too.
Shortly after all that excitement Adia and Tanae fell asleep. DiDi and I followed shortly after. Adia slept pretty well. She only woke up a few times and after she woke up around 5am, my mom took her. She was up for the day at 8ish and quickly learned that the more noise you make, the more likely you are to wake up Tanae. DiDi said that every time Adia made noise, Tanae would twitch and then Adia would grin. She eventually succeeded in waking up Tanae, who was not entirely happy to be awake, but when she saw Adia she said, "Hewoo!" How sweet is that?
It was a pretty lazy morning for me. I was really starting to get sick so DiDi took care of Adia as much as she could, but Tanae doesn't always make that easy. I did sleep through most of the complete blowout. It was everywhere and DiDi ended up giving me a naked baby while she threw everything in the wash. Adia was NOT happy. She wanted a nap. DiDi dressed her, handed her back to me with a bottle and we took a little nap. Meanwhile DiDi got Tanae to sleep. I eventually was able to leave Adia sleeping while I got up. Adia didn't stay asleep for long. I went back into the bedroom to see her little head poking up above the blankets. It was so cute and I wish I had had my camera in my hands.

I took her out into the living room to play so she didn't disturb Tanae. While she was playing, DiDi got a phone call that let her know she needed to go do something at school so she took Adia with her while I stayed to take a shower and watch Tanae, in case she woke up. She didn't wake up the whole time DiDi was gone. Once again it was Adia who woke her up. We were sitting at the table, eating something and Adia grabbed a stacking cup that Tanae had left sitting there. She started banging it as hard as she could against the table. The banging soon woke up a grumpy Tanae. It was cute though because when DiDi brought her into the living room, she smiled when she saw Adia and me. Tanae has the sweetest sleepy smile.

Tanae soon left us to go back home and DiDi, Adia and I headed back home. Adia was not happy to be stuck in her car seat and plainly refused to sleep. The sun kept getting in her eyes so I moved her sunshade down to block it. This meant that it wasn't attached to the back of her car seat. She then used to to play peek a boo with me. She'd hold it up, smile at me and then put it back in front of her face. We played like this for a good part of the trip. Then she started to get tired and fell asleep. I, on the other hand, had been playing with my wedding ring because it's been loose. It ended up flying off my finger and fell directly into the slit in the seat where the seat belt buckles go. It was long gone. When we got back to my place, we took DiDi's car apart, but never found it. I'm now wearing the ring Scott gave me in high school.
Adia was really happy to see Scott. Scott needed his haircut so we stopped there first. Adia was babbling up a storm and just being a total cutie. Then we went out to dinner. By then I was starting to feel really icky. When we got back home, I took a bath with Adia and gave her a bottle. She fell asleep immediately. I just couldn't get warm so I knew I had to have a fever. Adia slept together and she slept all night. She woke up a few times, but only because she wanted to lay on her tummy. I didn't sleep straight through though. I was running a fever and felt horrible.

Scott took today off because I was definitely sick and Adia had an appointment to get her flu shot at 8am. There was no way that I could take her. He told me that he nevers wants to take her for shots again. She looked alarm when it happened, but didn't cry until they got out to that car. She clung to him the entire time. When they got back, Scott gave her Tylenol and she slept for over two hours. When I finally got out of bed, she was still asleep. We spent the rest of the day just lounging around the house. I made chicken noodle soup and Adia played with Scott.
Dinnertime was fun. Adia ate 1/2 a YoBaby, some sweet potatoes and puffs. I also shared the peas from the soup. She LOVED them. She really had fun trying to pick them up. She also discovered that peas can roll.
Then it was off to the bathtub. I took one with her and she was silly. She was splashing water all over the place and got it everywhere. She didn't even seem to mind when she got it in her face. She also kept leaning all the way forward and would stick her tongue in the water. She can be a little strange sometimes.
After her bath she acted like she was going to fall right to sleep. Of course she didn't. She slept for a little bit, but I coughed and it woke her up. She was then all smiles and wanted to play. I hope she falls asleep and stays asleep tonight. Scott can't take tomorrow off, but he's getting sick now too.
