Crawl, crawl, crawl away

The day turned out pretty good considering the horrible night. She woke at 12 again and screamed for over the next hour. There were no gaps in the screams, just a constant, blood curdling scream. Scott and I really have no idea what's going on. Is she having nightmares? Is she teething again? It's just horrible to listen too and even worse that we can't make it stop. Eventually she took a bottle, but Scott had to fight her. She then slept until 7:30. Scott let me sleep in.

Adia ate breakfast with me. She was really into the cheerios, but didn't care for the yogurt. I think she was expecting graham crackers, but I really didn't want to clean up that mess. After we finished we headed out to the living room to get her dressed. Then we decided to go for a walk to the mall. Scott went with us. Adia was happy to be wearing her hat, but didn't like me putting on her sweater. She was kicking her feet like crazy and taking in the scenery.

She was just as happy when we got to the mall, but she didn't want to stay in the stroller. We stopped to look for a new hat for her and she also got a new pair of Christmas pjs and some shoes. Scott was holding her hands in the store and she was dancing to the music. She really likes to show off. Then we headed to the pet store. She wasn't too interested in the cats because they were all asleep, but she liked watching the mice and hamsters. Then we checked out the dogs. There was one that really liked Adia. It started wagging its tail when she got close to the glass. Too bad we can't have a dog. I know Adia would love it. Then it was the guinea pigs. I picked one up and tried to show it to her, but she was more interested in the rabbits in the pin below her. Finally we got her attention and she carefully reached out to pet it. She was very gentle and sweet. She also moved really slowly. I was a little worried that the pig would try to bite her since I had never handled the pig before, but it did well with her too. I think she'll really enjoy playing with the pigs at my mom's house.

We decided to have lunch while we were there. Adia ate some of the cheese off my Subway sandwich. She was mad when it was gone. She then tried some of Scott's Arby's, but she wasn't too keen on it. She mostly wanted what I was eating. I gave her some turkey too, which she liked. Then all I had was a chocolate chip cookie. She may hate ice cream, but she LOVES cookies. I think she may have a giant chocolate chip cookie for her 1st birthday instead of the cupcakes I was planning. She was really mad when that was gone.

It was then time to head home. It looked like it was going to rain when we got outside and we wanted to get home fast, but we were stopped by a panicked lady. She wanted to borrow my cell because she had locked her 18 month old daughter in her car. She called her husband and AAA while we waited and Adia made faces at the little girl. She did get lucky that it wasn't hot out and her daughter was in a wonderful mood. Adia started to get fussy before help arrived so we had to leave. All Adia wanted was a bottle. We made her one and she held it while we walked. She was soon fast asleep. She slept all the way home, but didn't last getting out of the stroller.

Adia was a happy, silly girl when we got home. I played with her briefly before starting my Christmas craft projects. She was then all Scott's responsibility. That's when she decided to show off. She moved all over the living room and soon that inchworm, army crawl movement turned into a real crawl. I didn't believe Scott at first so I went into the living room and sure enough, she was really crawling. She looked up at me with a huge grin on her face and I picked her up. I almost started crying I was so proud of her. She's now really getting into everything and finding every little piece of anything on the floor. She knew I was in the kitchen so she tried to head that way. She got to the linoleum and started to take another step, but she slipped and smacked her head hard on the ground. The screaming started immediately and now she has a big welt on her forehead.

Dinnertime was fun. Adia finished off 1/2 a yogurt, a few cheerios and a graham cracker. She was in a really good mood, but it was obvious she was really tired too. We then jumped in the bath. She was covered in food again, but she let me wash her off. She was smiling at Scott and perfectly happy, but still didn't stay in very long. He grabbed her and dressed her. It's now become even more of a struggle since she can crawl off if she wants. Scott then gave her a bottle and she fell asleep while I finished the Christmas stuff.

I bet she wakes up at 12:30, screaming bloody murder again. I just wish we could figure out what was wrong.
