crazy days

Sorry it's been a couple days, but we spend yesterday morning in the Emergency Room. Apparently I have gallstones and was having a gallbladder attack. I now have to get it removed so surgery will be in 3 weeks. Adia was wonderful in the ER. She said, "Hiiii!" to the doctor when he came in and flirted with all the nurses. She slept during the beginning because it was 5am, but was awake from 6:30 on. After we left the ER, we met the surgeon. Once again she was wonderful. I was amazed. After getting back home, we finished packing so we could head back to the coast.

Adia slept all the way back and so did I. She woke up upset though. She'd already had a very long day and was confused. We headed to Scott's parent's house. She was happy to see her Gampa and they played for a bit before dinner. She crawled all over the living room and even met her first cat. That didn't go so well. I thought she was going to attack the cat and the cat is definitely not used to babies. She was in love with the cat though. She ended up watching her through the glass. At dinner, Adia ate a whole yogurt! I was amazed. She also ate a bunch of cheerios and puffs.

Then it was back to DiDi's house. We gave Adia a bath by herself. She lasted a little while before wanting out. Then I dressed her and she played briefly before falling asleep. She's developed a really bad cold. Snot just keeps running down her face and she's got an awful cough. She had the hardest time drinking her bottle because she couldn't breathe. She did finally go to sleep, propped up, but she then woke up screaming. DiDi took her for the night and hardly got any sleep. Adia kept waking up, whining. I woke up at 4am, gave her Tylenol and handed DiDi a bottle. She slept until 7:30 when DiDi had to head to work. Scott got up with her so I could get more sleep. It was nice.

When I got up, Adia was getting tired again. I gave her a bottle and propped her up on me. She quickly fell asleep and slept for over 2 hours. I slept for a little bit of that too. I really thought she was going to sleep the day away. She was a very happy girl when she woke up. We played and then I got her dressed for the day. Her voice was so hoarse because of her cold. It sounds so deep. We headed to Freddy's to grab her some vapor rub and then went out to Scott's parent's house. Adia was excited to see everyone, but soon got cranky. Auntie Colie gave her a bottle and she fell asleep for a little snap. She was much better when she woke up.

She crawled around for a bit, going from one family member to another. At 6pm though she turned into a grump again. It was definitely dinner time. She ate 3/4 of a yogurt, but got sidetracked by everyone. She started getting really goofy and making all sorts of funny noises. After dinner we dropped Adia off with DiDi so Scott, his parents and I could go to the casino. Adia said, "Bye bye Mama" and waved when I left. It was really sweet. DiDi gave her a bath and got her to fall asleep, but she woke up when we got back.

It's now after 10:30 and she's still awake. DiDi has her so hopefully she'll get Adia back to sleep for the night. Tomorrow will be another long day for Adia. We're headed over the Gamma and Gampa G's house in the morning so I can make Thanksgiving dinner. Adia will get to try mashed potatoes for the first time. How exciting!
