A less sentimental birthday

Adia had a busy day today. She woke up in bed with me, smiled, clapped and then attacked. I sang her happy birthday and then she ran to wake DiDi. Scott came home soon after and Adia was very excited to see him. Adia wouldn't eat much for breakfast. She just wasn't into it, but did want to feed me her food. We took our shower together and then she easily went down for a nap.

She woke up early from her nap, but was still in a good mood. We headed to the store to get her a balloon for her birthday and a few strawberries. She's been eyeing a particular balloon for a couple weeks now and I told her she could get it on her birthday. When I placed it in the cart, she couldn't contain her excitement. She played with it in the store, got upset when we handed it to the cashier and really freaked out when she saw it was in the car with her. She couldn't believe she got to take it home with her.

We walked around outside when we got home. We did part of the lap, but didn't want to scare Adia with all the lawn mower noise. I took a few pictures of her, in hopes of getting a good one and I succeeded. Adia wasn't too happy to go inside, but we promised to go back out later when the lawn mowers were gone.

Adia spent the next couple hours running around the house, carrying her balloon. If we asked her, "Where's your balloon?" she'd smile and point at it. When she wasn't running with her balloon, she was climbing in and out of her bed and playing peek-a-boo with DiDi. She also managed to take the battery pack out of an xbox controller and got really made when she couldn't put it back. I also made some gluten and egg free brownies. Adia helped me taste the batter. She was licking her lips and opening her mouth for more. She ended up with chocolate on her face which then ended up on her dress.

Right before dinner we went and got the mail and made a lap around the complex. Adia stopped at one point because she saw a cat. While we were standing there the cat came over to see us. I carefully pet the cat and Adia was squealing in delight. She slowly reached out and pet the cat too and then all of a sudden, she kicked! The poor cat jumped and I picked Adia up. I have no idea why she kicked the poor cat, but I hope it's not a new trend. We came back in and opened her birthday present from her Birthday Pal. Adia loved her new books and I can't wait until she's big enough to wear the little outfit.

It was soon dinner. Adia scarfed down the strawberries and 3/4 of her bread. She ate a little bit of cheese and a few pear chunks. It was the most I've seen her eat in a long time. It was then time for whipped cream and brownies. Adia didn't know what to make of it. The first thing she did was put her nose in the whipped cream. She took maybe one bite, but once it was on her hands, she wasn't happy. She ended up throwing the whole thing on the floor and making a huge mess. Scott took her to the bath while DiDi and I cleaned up.

Adia had fun in her bath. She lunged for me afterwards so I got her dressed. She started to get cranky pretty quick so DiDi snuggled her with a bottle. Adia passed out by 7pm, but only slept until 7:45. She's wide awake now and in no mood to settle down for sleep. It's going to be a long night.
