On Monday we went to the mall so Adia could play. It was cold and wet when we left, but we came out to a hot, sunny day. Adia played in the play area, but left after a little boy pushed Adia down the slide for the second time. I'm so sick of parents who don't parent their children. He was definitely old enough to know better. Adia doesn't even push kids down the slide if they're not sliding. She also won't slide if there's another kid at the bottom of the slide. When we tried to walk by Orange Julius, she ran up to the counter yelling, "Want some please!" Scott and I both got drinks and she shared with us. We visited the puppies and then Adia wanted to ride in the ice cream truck and train. We've never let her ride them before so we thought it would be a special treat. She loved the ice cream truck. She rode it twice, but the train seemed to scare her. She even bumped her head while on it.
Every time we try to pass the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Adia has to hug their bear. She also wants to go in and ask for the M&M covered caramel apple. Scott's planning to get one for my birthday so she can finally try one. I did end up buying some M&M bark to share with Adia. She seemed to like it. We got back in the car and drove to the store. Adia fell asleep in the car so I used the Kozy again. That thing's getting a lot of use lately. She slept through the store and woke up when I tried to put her back in her car seat. She woke up very happy though. She was all smiles and squeals. I love it when she's like that.
Gamma arrived later that evening. She let Adia search through her purse and Adia found some "bunny money." Scott had a bunny bank that his Opa made him as a kid. He filled it with enough money to buy his Nintendo. When we had Adia, Gamma and Gampa passed it down to Adia. She now loves to find change and put it in the bunny. She even calls it bunny money. We went to dinner after she had begged all our change off of us. She was really good at dinner and only freaked out as I was finishing my meal.
On Tuesday, Daddy had some errands to run. I was starting to feel sick and tired so he had planned to take Adia to go birthday shopping with me. When he tried to leave the house, Adia completely freaked out. She wasn't going to let me stay home. I went with them and Adia went with Daddy to find my present while I browsed Old Navy. After I had been in Old Navy for awhile, I looked out front to see Daddy and Adia pushing a cart back towards Bed, Bath and Beyond. Adia looked adorable. She was happy to see me again when we met back up. Daddy let me know that Adia picked my present and that she also wanted a set of cutlery and some spoons. My present was pretty large and heavy so Daddy decided to give it to me early. It was a pink Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer! I've been wanting one for as long as I can remember. Adia liked the box.
I started to make dinner and Adia and Daddy helped shuck corn. Adia would peel off a piece and throw it on the newspaper. She really enjoyed helping and was sad when they had to stop at three ears of corn. She wanted to do more. She even ended up eating a few kernels of corn when it was dinnertime. She also ate the chicken and cheesey bread I made her.
I woke up feeling pretty sick around 12:30 last night. I had accidentally fallen asleep with Adia around 9. I couldn't go back to sleep since my head felt like it was going to explode. I took some Motrin and sat up with Daddy for a little over a hour. I finally went to bed at almost 2am, but the whole time I thought I was going to barf. Adia was of course up bright and early at 7:30. I didn't want to budge. My sinuses hurt, but I least my head didn't hurt as bad anymore. We had a lazy morning and around 11 headed to the store to buy some gluten free flours. I was determined to use my new mixer to make Adia some gluten free chocolate chip cookies. I couldn't believe how easy it was to make cookies using the mixer. Adia was scared of the noise, but thought it was interesting to see me making cookies. They were definitely Adia approved cookies. She seemed to really enjoy them. For a first attempt, they were pretty good. They were really flat and crunch and the centers were gooey. I think they had too much butter in them, but there's always next time. At least they taste good.
Daddy woke up early today. Adia was thrilled to have him. Together we got Adia to take a nap. She was obviously very tired and kept having bad tantrums. When she woke up, she was more herself. She helped shuck corn again for dinner and then waited for everything to be ready with Daddy. It's started to cool off here so they snuggled together.
We had meatloaf for dinner and Adia actually ate some, using a fork. She wasn't too into the corn though. Then it was bath time followed by a bunch of tantrums. It was obvious that she needed bedtime. It took forever to get her to sleep though.
