Valentine's Day

Adia and I had a rough night last night. She was awake from 2:30-5 and even a bottle wouldn't get her back to sleep. She woke up happy around 7:30 though. I was still exhausted so Scott took her as soon as he got home. I was able to sleep for about another hour, but Adia wasn't going to let me sleep any longer. She started pounding on the bedroom door and screaming, "Maaamaaa!" I knew I wasn't getting anymore sleep. I got up and was greeted by a happy Adia who was also very proud of herself. Scott was asleep on the living room floor.

Adia did want to show me my Valentine's day present from her. I went out to the kitchen to find this:

There's a balloon that goes with it that Adia particularly likes. She also enjoyed smelling the flowers. The card was especially cute. Scott helped her make it. So sweet! Scott soon went to bed. Adia waved and said, "G'bye!" as he walked down the hallway. She was then pounding on the door again, but it didn't last long. Within minutes her focus was back on me and then to the kitchen.

Adia ate a long breakfast because I needed to chop up the apples for crockpot applesauce. I also had to start the roasted garlic for dinner. Lets just say, those two smells don't go together. Each are amazing on their own, but uck together. After breakfast, Adia played in the kitchen. I actually couldn't get her to follow me to the bathroom like she normally does. The kitchen has become pretty baby safe as of late so I wasn't too worried. I put in my contacts and brushed my teeth. When I returned to the kitchen, Adia was playing with a box of 100 calorie packs. She looked like a kid with her hand caught in the cookie jar when she saw me watching her. I took the calorie packs out of the box and handed her the box. It quickly lost its appeal.

She followed me to bathroom then and just as I was about to strip her for the shower, I noticed she'd filled her diaper, again! That was the second time in 3 hours. Her tush is looking raw again and it's sore to the touch. I feel so bad for her. We took our shower and I slathered her with ointment again. Then it was naptime.

When Adia woke up from her nap, we headed to the mall. We walked around JC Penny first, trying to find a dress for me. No such luck, but Adia enjoyed walking. I held Adia's hand and she slowly toddled around. There's a reason they're called toddlers. Everything was fine until she hit the lip between the carpet and the linoleum. She fell flat on her back, but I scooped her up before she started screaming. She only wanted to be held after that. We went in several other stores, but I had no luck finding anything I wanted. We stopped by Game Crazy to buy Scott his Valentine's present before heading home.

I wanted to get a few pictures of Adia in her cute pants so we played outside before going in the house. Adia was really good. She kept looking up at me and smiling so the pictures turned out good. She did want to eat the moss, however.

We headed inside, where Adia made her way to the kitchen. Her favorite place to hang out is under the kitchen table. Luckily she's still short enough so she doesn't bump her head. I set up the box on the table and then we woke up Scott. He went nuts over Guitar Hero and once we got it set up, Adia loved it too. She likes to dance to the music. She really shakes her booty, no matter how bad we're playing.

Adia didn't eat too much at dinner, but clapped, waved and was her silly self. I shared some of my dessert with her (crockpot applesauce and vanilla ice cream). It was a hit. Then she took a short bath and was back to rock out to Scott playing guitar.
