She's been standing unassisted all day today. In the kitchen, in the living room. She's constantly squatting to grab something and then standing back up. At one point she had grabbed her dried apples and was shaking the bag around while standing. She never came close to losing her balance at all. When I was sorting through her new clothes, I wanted to compare the length of a pair of jeans to her. I stood her up in front of me, compared her and then let go, expecting her to immediately sit down. She just stood there, playing with a tag.

When she started to get fussy this afternoon, I mixed her a sippy cup of 2oz formula and 2oz whole milk. We're trying to wean her off bottles and formula. For the first time ever, she actually drank out of the sippy. She also didn't choke. I guess all the practice with the cup is helping. Halfway through the sippy cup though she had a full blown tantrum and refused to drink anymore. She was very tired though. After several more tries, we gave her a bottle and she fell right to sleep.
Adia's also developed fascination with the dishwasher. I was putting dishes away this afternoon while she was playing in the cupboard. She noticed what I was doing and wanted to help. She started pushing the bottom basket in every time I pulled it out. She also tried to pull out the plates. When I was done unloading and reloading it, she even tried to help by closing it for me. She's not quite strong enough to get the door up, but she knows you have to have everything pushed all the way in before you can.

Scott gave Adia her bath tonight. It was very short because Adia kept standing up. He got her out to the towel in the living room and was just about to put A&D ointment on her when she peed. I'm guessing she didn't want to pee in the tub since she hasn't peed during a diaper change since she was 6 weeks old. I had to grab him a new diaper since his hand had ointment on it.
Now Adia keeps going between happy and grumpy. I thought she was going to sleep, but I was wrong. Her little head keeps poking around my laptop and saying, "Boo!" Peek-a-boo is definitely her favorite game. I get the biggest grin and an occasional laugh or squeal every time. It's so worth it!
