Opa's celebration of life was on Saturday. Gampa and Uncle Ron made a huge breakfast buffet, in true Opa fashion. Adia enjoyed an orange cranberry muffin and some toast, but wouldn't eat much else. She did get a kick out of all the people. She acted shy at first, no talking, smiling or funny faces, but that never lasts. Soon she was talking up a storm and being her silly self. She loves being the center of attention. DiDi arrived with Tanae and the memorial began.
Gampa made a wonderful slide show. It was amazing to see Opa so young and we discovered how much Scott and Adia look like him and Gampa. There's always so much about a person's life we never know. I knew he travelled the world and met Oma in the Philippines, but to actually see him so young, to see him in foreign lands and his sense of humor. I only had the opportunity to know him for a short 8 1/2 years. In an eighty-two year lifespan, 8 years isn't very long at all.
Adia watched the pictures for a little while, but was more interested in the "Grandfather coin" Gampa gave her. She now has a quarter that was minted the same year Opa was born. She loved shaking it around inside it's plastic protective case.
After we were finished at Gamma and Gampa's house, we all headed to the casino. Every time we'd visit Oma and Opa in Otis, they'd take us to the casino buffet. We figured it was only fitting to have lunch at the casino buffet in Florence. Adia wasn't much into eating again, but she was once again the center of attention. She threw most of her food on the floor, but liked sharing some ice cream with mommy. She squealed, laughed and made faces at everyone. I think her highlight was the napkin tossing with Gampa. Gampa would through his napkin over her head and she'd pull it right off. I wish I could have gotten a good picture of it because their faces were priceless. When we were done eating, we loaded Adia up in the car with Auntie Colie so we could gamble for a little bit.

About a hour later she called, wanting us to come back because Adia was being extremely fussy. That's for sure! We all think Adia's probably getting another tooth on the bottom. She has a total of 7 now, 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. She also loves to bite.
Adia was crying when we got back to the house. She was happy to see me, but the fussing continued. She hadn't had a good nap all day and never really got one. We ended up sidetracking her with relatives and toys. She really likes her Peek-A-Boo book. She knows how each page flips to show the baby. She also likes Do Lions have Trunks? It's a pull tab book and she knows exactly where to pull on each page too.

It was soon dinner and bath time. She ate some yogurt and a piece of toast, but wasn't too interested in anything else. We didn't have her pjs with us so I had to call DiDi and ask her to bring them. Scott plopped her into his parents' big tub. She loves it since there's plenty of room to move around and splash. We didn't have bath toys with us either so Tupperware it was. She also pulled a bath towel in with her. She splashed a bunch and had a great time. DiDi arrived just as Adia was ready to get out of the tub.

Scott set her on his parents' bed to dress her. Adia started grabbing her feet and being silly. She especially enjoyed it when Scott made the bed bounce. She was all smiles and giggles for him. Then it was out to living room for more playtime. Uncle Ron and Gampa thoroughly wore her out and she slept like a rock with DiDi.

Sunday took DiDi, Adia and I to Depot Bay to meet up with all the relatives. Opa said he wanted his ashes in Depot Bay. In true Opa fashion again, Gampa decided they'd sling shot them into the water and then we'd drop roses off the bridge. We thought it was fitting that Opa wanted to be thrown off the bridge since he'd been bridge jumping at the age of 76. It was something he was extremely proud of. We all huddled outside, holding roses and trying to stay warm. For a moment there was no rain, but a beautiful rainbow. After two failed attempts with the sling shot, we walked up to bridge. It started raining again, which Adia loved, and we dropped our roses and Opa into the sea. It was an emotional moment that was followed by hail. Then it all stopped at quickly as it began and the sun came back out and the sky was blue.
Afterwards we ate lunch. Adia ate crackers and made faces at Gamma. She rolled some of DiDi's peas around the table and made a huge mess out of the floor. It was soon time for everyone to part ways and return home.

Scott's back home now and Adia and I are still with DiDi. We'll be going home in the next couple days. Adia slept well last night. She seemed completely worn out. Now she's taking a nap after following me around the house whining.
