Just Beachy

Adia got to go to the beach this last weekend. We went back to Florence on Friday and it was super windy and rainy. DiDi kept saying she didn't think it would be nice on Saturday, but I believed the weather report. When we woke up Saturday morning, it was foggy and cold. By 11 it had all burned off though and the sun came out. Adia was more than ready to go to the beach.

We jumped in the car and headed there. Adia was excited when we got out of the car. It wasn't too windy. We hiked to the water and set down Adia's toys. She didn't want to sit still to get her picture taken with DiDi, she just wanted to get in the sand.

She quickly started digging away, filling buckets and dumping them on top of each other.

Gramma knew we were at the beach so she stopped by for a visit. Adia was happy to see her too and they walked down the beach a bit. They ended up going out towards the waves and then running back as the waves chased them. Adia loved it. She had the silliest grin on her face. They also stepped and kicked on sea foam.

When it was time for Gramma to leave, Adia did her pouty face. Adia wanted to walk Gramma to her car so we decided to leave too. I thought Adia would fall asleep in the car, but she didn't. We made a quick trip to the store and Adia was still awake. We had lunch and then headed out to Gramma and Papa's house. Adia's Great Grandma, and great aunt and uncle were there for a few hours. She enjoyed seeing them and actually gave her great aunt a kiss when it was time for them to leave.

Sunday was wet, cold and rainy again. Adia wanted to go back to the beach, but we convinced her it wasn't a possibility. She then said she wanted to play in the park. It wasn't raining when we got bundled up, but the second we got out the door, it started raining. By the time we got the park, it was pouring and very windy. Adia was still determined to play. She played briefly, but she got frustrated when the slides were too wet to go down. She kept asking for a towel to dry them.

We walked back to DiDi's house and I took a nap on the couch while Adia played. When I woke up, we took a short walk and then got ready to drive back to Eugene. Adia wasn't happy to leave DiDi, but I told her she'd see her again very very soon. Adia slept on the way home, but was cranky when she woke up too early.

We've had some rough days on Monday and today. Adia's been cranky and not wanting to sleep. She has been enjoying her mornings with Daddy though. Today we had a doctor's appointment and Adia talked about seeing her babies dance all day. When she did get to see them on the screen, she was so excited. She kept telling us they were dancing and wiggling. She could see hands and feet. Both babies look terrific and are growing perfectly. One baby is transverse and the other is breech right now. Baby B was wide awake, dancing like crazy and even pushed Baby A. Baby B's heartrate is 156 and Baby A's heartrate is 138.

Tomorrow is Adia's eye doctor appointment. Her eye doesn't seem to be getting much better. Then on Thursday we have the "big" ultrasound with the perinatologists. We should be finding out sexes and getting much better pictures. We're so excited.
