Adia's Snow Day

We had a few unexpected things happen the last couple days. On Thursday, DiDi sent me a text saying she was in the ER and might have had a heart attack. Of course that nearly gave me one and within 30 minutes, we were headed back to the coast. The roads were covered in ice and treacherous. The normal 1 - 1 1/2 drive took over 2 hours. Adia slept most of the way and when we arrived at the hospital, she was happy to see Gamma and Gampa G. I spent time with DiDi who had since found out that it probably wasn't a heart attack, but they weren't sure what it was. Around 9 we went back to DiDi's house. Adia was very confused to be at DiDi's house without DiDi. She looked everywhere for her. It was nearly impossible to get her to sleep, but she finally passed out around 11. DiDi was released and got home a little after midnight.

On Friday Scott had to drive back home because he had to work. Adia cried when he left, but was happy to have DiDi back. DiDi had a doctor's appointment and Adia took a 2 1/2 hour nap! It was amazing. After DiDi's doctor appointment, we had dinner with Gamma and Gampa G. Adia was happy to see them again and was thoroughly worn out after playing for 2 hours. She even got to play with the cat. When started to act tired, DiDi brought us back to her house. She gave Adia a bath and after drinking 6oz, Adia passed out. When she woke up in the early hours of the morning, DiDi took her.

Saturday was a fun day too. We got to see Tanae briefly before Gamma G drove Adia and me back home. We spent the day out and about. Gamma cut off most of her hair, enough to send to locks of love and we ate lunch together. We also went to Costco, which Adia slept through, and the mall. Gamma bought Adia the 12 month snowsuit, a cute sweater, shirt and a fun pair of jeans. They're all 12 months so it will be some time before they fit. Then Gamma dropped us off before going back to the coast. I fed Adia AND gave her a bath without incidence. The second she stood up, I took her out. She played for a couple hours before falling asleep. I just wish she would have stayed asleep.

Last night was not a good sleeping night at all, but we woke up to SNOW! I walked out into the kitchen to rinse her 3am bottle and looked out on the porch. There was white everywhere. There was maybe 1/2 inch then, but now, 3 hours later, there's 3 inches. It shows no signs of stopping either. We bundled Adia up and headed outside. She liked the show on her face and eyelashes. I set her down and let her crawl around. She wasn't so sure about that. She didn't last long before going back in. She did enjoy eating it too.

Now we've had breakfast and she's getting ready for a nap. I hope it's a long one. Mommy needs some downtime.
