Adia's had an exciting couple of days. On Monday, we played outside for a little bit. It's hard to get much time outside since it's been wet or freezing. It was wet on Monday and I thoroughly soaked the knees on my pants trying to get pictures of Adia. Adia had fun though. She really liked touching the trees, running her fingers through the grass and mushing mud. She's certainly an outdoors girl. I often wonder what she's going to be when she grows up. A marine biologist? She loves water and fish. An arborist? She's fascinated with all things trees. A dentist? She can't keep her hands out of Scott's mouth. A musician? She loves all kinds of music. A comedian? She really does have perfect comedic timing. She's shockingly perfect when it comes to laughing at just the right moment. Only time will tell, but she's certainly showing her interest in the world around her.

On Tuesday, Scott, Adia and I went for a walk. It was freezing outside, literally. There was actual ice on the ponds near our house. Adia kept trying to take her hat off and her hands felt like ice, so I had to put her mittens on. She was NOT happy. Eventually she dozed off and slept through part of the mall. We stopped at The Children's Place. I love their clothes and they were having an awesome sale. Since I still want to be able to walk while it's freezing outside, we bought Adia a snowsuit. It would normally cost $29, but we got it for $8! I'm planning on trying it later today. We got lunch at the mall. Adia ate her first fortune cookie and loved it. Apparently she's good with money. Then I shared some raspberry frozen yogurt with her before we walked home.

It felt even colder on the way back and Adia wouldn't keep the mittens on. She was definitely not a happy camper. Scott and I traded carrying her most of the way back and she screamed the entire way. She was happy when we got home though. She started playing and acted like nothing had ever happened.

Yesterday wasn't as good of a day for her though. Scott had to go in for a meeting during the afternoon so when he got back, he slept. Normally he'd be awake to play with Adia. Adia was not happy that she wasn't getting her normal Daddy-Daughter time because she also missed out on it in the morning. Scott was still asleep at dinnertime. Adia threw all he bread on the floor, but finished her yogurt. She started crying when we went into the bathroom because Scott wasn't there for bath time. Once I got her in the tub, she was happier.

When it was time to get out, Adia stood against the side of the tub. She does this every night, no problem. Of course, this night it had to be different. I had just finished laying her towel in my lap when she slipped. She smacked her head against the side of the tub and went under. I pulled her out immediately and she was screaming, blood everywhere. I had no idea where it was coming from and she wouldn't let me look at her face. I screamed for Scott, who woke up instantly. He came running into the bathroom. I was sitting on the floor, bawling my eyes out, holding a screaming bloody baby. It didn't take long for Adia to calm down. The blood was coming from her mouth, but luckily she hadn't bit through her lip or tongue. Her bottom teeth hit her gums on top and took a chunk out where her top tooth is coming through. There was tons of blood, but hardly any damage. Within 5 minutes she was smiling and laughing at Scott and leaving bloody kisses on his white t-shirt. I was still a wreck though and doubt I'll be doing bath time for a very long time.

she wouldn't let me catch her to put her pjs on

those are the pjs she's supposed to be wearing

She played for a couple hours before getting tired. She cried when Scott left for work, but quickly snuggled up to me and fell asleep. She slept most of the night on Scott's side of the bed and only woke up at 6am for a bottle. Then she slept on my chest. Scott took her when she woke up this morning. She was all smiles when she saw me at 9:30. She happily ate breakfast and then we took a shower. I've been trying for the last 2 hours to get her to nap, but no luck. If she doesn't nap after lunch, we're trying out that snowsuit and going for a walk.
