DiDi took us back to Florence on Sunday. Tanae and Adia quickly fell asleep in the car and we had a quiet ride back. The silence really was golden. Those two together can be ear splitting in their squeals, screams and giggles. They did much better at DiDi's house. We think it's because it's neutral territory. They ended up playing hide and see. It was so cute. Adia would hide and Tanae would look for her. Adia is good at hiding, but needs to stop giggling when she hears, "where's Adia?"
We met Tanae's mommy at Freddie's to give Tanae back. The girls we awful in the cart. Tanae kept mauling Adia and Adia would have a fit. It kind of reminded me of one sibling complaining that the other sibling was "looking at her." Tanae was happy to be back with her mommy and we parted ways without tears. It's nice when that happens.
Adia was up late Sunday night, but was in a good mood. She has a routine at DiDi's house. She climbs in DiDi's bed, watches the fiber optic lamp and then has us read books to her. Then before she falls asleep, Adia and I move to the other bedroom. Adia makes sure she gives DiDi plenty of hugs and kisses first.
Monday was a beautiful day in Florence. It was very cold, but sunny and dry. Adia was cranky because she didn't sleep long enough the night before. We ended up going for a walk. I thought about taking her to the park, but she fell asleep before we'd even gone 3 blocks! She then slept for over 2 hours.

Daddy joined us in the evening. Gramma and Papa came over after dinner and Adia had fun with them. She had another late night and early morning, but was super excited to go to the beach. She's been asking to go to the beach for ages now. First she went to the auto parts store to buy a new headlight for our car. She helped Daddy pick out the light, set it on the counter to buy and put them in the bag. When she came back she happily ran over to me and handed me the bag. She was proud of herself.
Our beach trip didn't go as planned. The weather was awful, stormy and ice cold. Papa knew I didn't want to walk over the dunes anyway, so we loaded up in their jeep and went driving on the beach instead. I've never been before and it was awesome. Adia absolutely loved it too. She especially loved all the bumps and driving through water. She did get out briefly to attempt some beach time with Gramma, but it was just to windy and cold. When we stopped for a bathroom break for the pregnant lady, Adia even saw 2 deer. She wanted to bring them home with us. While we were parked and she was on Gramma's lap, she peed out the side of her pull up. Adia was super upset. We changed her in the car and hoped she wouldn't do it again since I only had 1 extra pair of pants.
Adia passed out in the car and we got lunch. She woke up while we were eating and scarfed down a hot dog. She soon informed us that she was wet again. While she was sleeping, she had peed out the side of the diaper again. I will never ever ever buy Walmart brand pull ups. They seriously suck. They used to fit Adia really well, but Tanae was having the same problem with them too. Daddy had to run into Safeway to buy some Pampers and the makings for s'mores.
We went back to Gramma and Papa's house and changed Adia again. Gramma had to throw her clothes in the wash because we were out of pants. Papa made a fire in the fireplace while Adia terrorized the cat. It was soon time to roast marshmallows. I haven't had fire roast s'mores in ages and it was awesome. Adia loved helping Papa. She ate marshmallows and chocolate too, but no graham crackers for her.
We sat in front of the fire, eating s'mores and playing with waffle blocks from Daddy's childhood. I wish they still made cool toys like that. Adia had a blast with them. We built her a "go-cart" and Papa and Daddy pushed her back and forth in the kitchen. She absolutely loved it.
Then it was fort time on the bed and just being silly before we left.
Adia threw a huge fit when it was time to leave. She screamed for Gramma all the way back to DiDi's house. Then finally calmed down and hugged DiDi for a little bit. She threw another fit when we got back in the car to drive home. She screamed for the first 15 miles for DiDi. She wanted DiDi hugs. It was so heartbreaking to see her like that. She did eventually fall asleep though.
