The mornings at DiDi's house were a little crazy. Adia's been a good eater since we went gluten free. Tanae hasn't been a good eater in almost a year. She'd rather drink milk than eat anything. Once way to get them both to happily eat is to let them eat out of your plate. There's just one problem with that. Two kids, one lap. DiDi handles it well though and even managed to eat too. For the first morning in days, Tanae actually ate more than a couple bites. She likes turkey ham and scrambled eggs. So does Adia.
Saturday was Oma's garage sale. We walked over to check see everyone. I gave the girls an option, "Wagon or strollers?" Adia yelled, "Da wagon!" and Tanae yelled, "Stroller!" We ended up in strollers because once Tanae realized strollers were an option, there was no going back. Luckily, Adia didn't mind. Adia was surprised to see Gamma and Gampa. Gampa quickly stole her and Gamma fed both girls grapes. They both fell asleep on the walk home. Tanae woke up in the transfer and wouldn't go back to sleep, but Adia stayed sleeping in her stroller.
Saturday night we went over to Gamma and Gampa's house. I made beef fajitas for dinner and we finally ate the banana cream pie. Eck was happy to have his pies. Both girls quickly fell in love with Eck. Tanae jumped on his back, but Adia wasn't quite tall enough to climb on. Tanae tried to help her, but just ended up grabbing her by the head. That didn't go over well. Adia and Tanae gave us the hint it was time to leave by all the eye rubbing, yawning and Tanae grabbing shoes. They both gave lots of hugs and kisses to Gamma, Oma and Lani.
Yesterday, we left Adia with DiDi and Tanae so we could go to dinner and a movie. DiDi took them to Walmart and Safeway. They were pretty good except that Adia wouldn't stop pulling Tanae's hair. She's been doing that a lot lately. I think she's jealous of Tanae's hair. They were eating dinner when we got back. Adia said "hi!" and just kept eating, but Tanae jumped in my lap and wouldn't let go. I don't think she expected us to come back. Scott gave them both baths and it was bedtime. It was already pretty late and they were both tired. Adia woke Tanae up bright and early this morning. I felt really bad for Tanae. She doesn't do mornings.
Office Depot had its school supplies on sale so we stopped there. DiDi and I both bought supplies for her class and saved over $20 a piece. The girls were horrible in the store though. They wanted everything. It only got worse when we went to JC Penny. DiDi was trying to find a queen sized comforter that she actually liked. Adia and Tanae kept trying to run off. Then they'd have a horrible fit if you tried to hold onto them.
I'm not sure why we tried to do lunch. They were awful in the restaurant. Tanae wouldn't sit still and kept trying to go under the table. Adia actually ate her cheeseburger and grapes, but Tanae didn't want to eat anything. Afterwards we went to Target and the girls were ok. We had them both in the same cart, Adia in the front and Tanae sitting in the basket. Everything we put IN the basket, Tanae tried to take back out. DiDi did find a cool comforter set though. Both girls fell asleep in the car on the way back. DiDi dropped us off and Adia slept for almost 3 hours. She woke up in the middle of it, screaming so we took a nap together in the bedroom.
When she woke up, it was time to meet my dad. She's never met him before and we were going out to eat. Adia wasn't so sure about him, but didn't start screaming. She also wouldn't sit in her seat or eat anything, but that's pretty typical. They followed us back to the house after dinner and Adia started acting like herself. She was laughing, running around and being silly. She still wouldn't get too close, but she did except the little mug he made her. She actually really likes it. We played outside before they left. She loves the grass. She might see him one more time before he goes back to California, but I doubt it. She probably won't see him again until next year.
