Adia is really fascinated with cooking, especially if I'm doing the cooking. She wants to know what everything is and what exactly I'm doing. Sometimes Scott will give her a running commentary, which is rather funny, or she'll climb on a chair to get a better look. She even likes a particular cooking show on PBS. It's called Made in Spain. I'm not entirely sure why she likes that one show so much, but she gets excited when the guy appears and she listens to everything he says. I think we need to get Adia a little apron and try out some gluten free cookie recipes. I just found a delicious sounding gluten free pancake recipe that uses plain yogurt and brown rice flour. Just the recipe sounds good so we'll have to try it when we get home. We're in Florence right now.

I bought her an art easel from Toys R Us a couple days ago. I've really been wanting the Little Tikes one since I know it's sturdy and make it easier for her to draw. They didn't have the one I wanted, but another one, by Crayola, that looked like something Adia might like. I bought it and while Adia was napping, I attempted to put it together. The easel top was so flimsy that I couldn't even keep it together long enough to put the base on. After my 3rd attempt, I put it back in the box to return. I returned it on Monday and we bought Adia a picnic table instead. It's just like the one at DiDi's house and she loves it. I had to rearrange a few things in the living room to find a place for it, but Adia approves. She ate breakfast there while watching Super Why on Tuesday. She even ate a snack of apples and milk on Monday night while sitting there watching Michelle Obama's speech. I think it's more of a hit than the easel.

We're in Florence now. It's DiDi's first week back at school and I wanted to help her in her classroom. Adia and I were there for the afternoon yesterday. Since there's not much in her room, Adia was pretty good. There wasn't much for her to mess with, but she did rip a Goosebump book. I had to bring Adia back to DiDi's house to pee though since she wouldn't go while I held her over the toilet at school. I think she was worried I was going to drop her in.

Adia was a live wire last night even though she never took a nap. When she finally said it was Nigh Nigh, she didn't want me, she wanted DiDi. I tried laying next to her in bed and she kept crying, "I wan DiDi!" DiDi came in and laid next to her. Within seconds Adia was out cold, all snuggled up against DiDi.

Adia woke up to DiDi turning on the shower. She yelled, "Daddy?" and when I told her it wasn't daddy she said, "DiDi?" Then it was "Peepee!" So she got to see DiDi in the shower while Adia used the toilet. She was completely dry from overnight and peed a lake in the toilet. She's peed multiple times this morning already and almost completely dry. We've even managed to get her to actually eat some food too. She hasn't been eating much for the last week. I think she's been surviving on milk, apples and necco wafers.
